"You, a married 37 year-old, just performed a song about coercive sexual advances as nine minors twerked alongside you down the hallways of a public high school" I snorted
That was by far the funniest line ever uttered on television. I’ve never even see Glee so it caught me completely off guard and I have no context for it. But my god was that funny
You know, I've rewatched Glee over and over again to the point where in each time I did marathon on Glee, I hated Will Schuester even more. He's a freak teacher, uptight, and can't respect his students' privacy and boundaries, and he really did favoritism on Rachel until season 3 if you think about it.
@@stepheneastern7661 I thought that was because Rachel was crying like a B* everytime she wanted the part to sing in a lead☺😄 didn't know she was his favorite until you said something 🤷🏾♀️😊
it kinda made me mad how they’d keep writing jokes about some of the glee club members never having lines or screen time and then continuing to not give them any😭
Sane? Suuuuuuuure.... except for, you know, those times when she threw tree branches @ the Glee club members, or went full roid rage on a bunch of kids, slamming them into lockers & shit all because she got her cheer squad funding cut! Or firing minor children out of CANONS for shameless stunts in her cheer routines? Did u even watch the show? Lol
@@guystudios technically in the context of this show there were much worse people examples; Will, will’s ex wife, that guy Rachel dated from the rival singing team,
WAIT A DAMNED MINUTE. you're telling me that 👞 rejected a deal that will allow Unique, a bullied and abused trans kid, to use the bathroom they feel safe in, because he doesn't want to stop twerking with the kids???????? WTF
Sue literally kidnapped Klaine and she is still 1000000x better than Shue. Like everyone sees sue as an awful person, when she literally is just overly blunt.
Sue did some prettyyyy fucked up shit like pushing the nurse down the stairs, drugged and blackmailed figgins, rerouting new directions flight to land in Libya, kidnapping Klaine basically so they end up fuckkng again, she falsely accused Beiste of touching Brittany, when she pushed that one choir coach down the stairs 2 times forcing him into a coma, kicking out all the Glee members from school because they didn’t win Nationals and that also resulting in the end of all clubs that didn’t win National titles. Her regular antics were fine but there was some times when she really showed how evil she is and she was a major compulsive liar to everyone and always bullied the students when she got a temper tantrum
@@vprox147 very true, but she always gets called out and is protrayed as bad. Will is mostly portrayed as a good guy who is a bit misguided, wherease he is actually terrible.
And she was so self aware too , will literally blackmailed a student into joining the band over something he didn’t do and he won teacher of the year 💀
You are absolutely right! I gotta admit, I applauded her when she stopped them mid-performance of a britney spears song and Ik for sure that if my former hs choir and I ever sang that song in a school concert, we'd be stopped mid-performance.
Sue is straight up Shakespearean. She has ALWAYS been the best part of Glee. The wit, humor, camp, and most unexpected, touching moments. Jane Lynch deserved so much more screen time than the 2 or 3 actors that sang 95% of the songs in the last couple of seasons. And we needed her to sing more!!! Ryan Murphy should make a spin off with her and Becky. Each week, they decimate the egos of incompetent teachers, principals and staff at high schools around the nation, straightening things up. From military schools to beauty schools. (Obviously, in a fictional setting. Jane Lynch seems far too kind to ever be a Gordon Ramsey psycho.)
The funny thing is, Gordan Ramsay is only ever a "Gordon Ramsay psycho" to people who act like they know everything and get it wrong to the point of being dangerous to others, because he knows bad cooking by arrogant people gets people killed. Gordon Ramsay may well be the Sue Sylvester of fine cuisine!
I wish Sue wasn't used so much as a lamp shading tool for the writers to say "we know we're being creepy and weird, but we're gonna keep doing it anyway".
Well in the earlier seasons Will recognized that she was right and changed his approach. Like when she called him out about the Rocky Horror Show and his "hairography" lesson. It's the later seasons that the show just gave up and let Will stay creepy and weird
exactly. you can’t use a character to point out the flaws in your writing and then just keep the flaws in your writing. that’s not self-awareness. it’s laziness.
@@walkingexistentaldread3079 everything’s lazy now. Nobody cares about context and truth is irrelevant. Just keep pumping out boring content to fill your quota.
It's almost as if the show was purposely written in a way so that when you're a teenager you side with Will and hate Sue but when you're 20+ you hate Will and side with Sue. It's really telling about the difference between the maturity we think we have as teens and actually being mature
This comment combined with this video makes me want to revisit glee now that I am a 24yo… is this a good idea? No. Is it going to stop me? Also no. God have mercy on my husband
The show was just bad and used lesbian stereotypes to antagonize sue, which would have made sense if the show did satire well, but it didn't. Will is just a straight white man who was idolized in the show, and so many of you fell for it.
I didn’t understand Sue as a kid because she speaks with very academic and intelligent adjectives I still have to look up in the dictionary now to understand, like “execrable” and “hackneyed” in this vid for ex. A lot of her morals just flew over my head and was overshadowed by her bluntness and villain characterization.
I mean not gonna lie she did kind of discriminate treating the chearleeders like quinn and santana like trash to do her slave work for her evven mercades although she didn't do anything and for her she still made her feel less than by condeming her on her weight was always mean to finn and kurt and said some awful terrible things about the glee club so yeah this is just showing her good quality moments on the show lol
Nah she was problematic like everyone else in glee lmfao. Except maybe Mike Chang haha. She picked and chose when to stand up for people and when to completely diminish them. But even though she herself is a bit questionable, she is so appealing to all of us bc she calls out all the weird shit that only the audience seems to notice, and is hilarious while doing it. She doesn’t always go about things the right way, and it is incredibly rare that she takes the high road- but she’s so damn funny BECAUSE she’s the embodiment of the devils on our shoulders.
I can’t believe he didn’t know that “blurred lines “ actually is about mens inability to understand that just because a woman is dressed sexy doesn’t mean he’s entitled to sex with her.
You are aware that in the lyrics of the song, the woman actually sexually touches the man without his consent, and that's a big part of what "blurs the lines", yeah?
@@andrewcz8871 yea no you’re just dumb voting for republican. Don’t get me wrong the democrats aren’t much better but is certainly the lesser evil of the two. Trump literally mocked democracy with the hostile takeover of DC after Biden got elected; making the nation look like a joke with the citizens throwing a pity tantrum because they didn’t get what they want. In a two part system you’re essentially going to get the extremes of the political spectrum competing against each other for power. Trump literally took America back in terms of the climate crisis and people individual rights… Obama propagated wars in other countries but at the same time oversaw the most societal progress the U.S has made (in terms of rights for its minority groups) over the last centuries and brought it to the forefront of public discussion.
When she said it all started when he stalked a nude student in the shower I absolutely lost my shit- she’s been out here all this time just spitting truths.
Yeah, she's not normal. As least not any idea of normal that's touted nowadays. She's self-aware and competent enough, but she's pretty nuts herself and a caustic jerk which is the kind of behavior that has been largely normalized in this day and age by people who act the same and don't want to feel like assholes for it because ego needs to draw the line somewhere.
lmaoooooooo its been years that ive seen this show so i forgot a lot and i can not believe mr shue just being like "no way me and my glee club full of minors are going to stop twerking" jfnbjkndkjbndfbndfj it made me scream its so stupid and funny
My favorite moment is when she talks about how amazing the band is, because the Glee club members will just tell them to "hit it!" and they some how manage to know exactly what song to play and how to play it.
Sue was 99% of the time right. She wasn't a villain or bad really. And Will has always disgusted me tbh. Man literally started the Glee club to live out his dreams with a bunch of teens.
The first time I watched Glee I hated Sue. Then I rewatched and changed my tune. Then watched it again and realized she is the only one that makes sense
i love how the clip featuring her intense klaine shipping comes right before her accusing will of a "bizarre psychosexual obsession" with the glee students LMFAO. regardless, she is perfect. truly the queer-coded villainous star we direly needed.
Sue Sylvester has such a gift with words and speaking. I know we were suppose to dislike her, but she is spouting straight up facts in the most eloquently insulting way possible and I respect that.
The fact that Sue spat straight facts about how utterly inappropriate Will was says the writers A) Knew that character was cringey as hell, B) Kept writing him that way and promoting him as the “hero” despite knowing he was problematic, and C) The writers were TROLLS
No because the glee club were the most annoying club in the school and honestly i would’ve hated them too didnt they walk around the halls singing and dancing like they had no regard for anyone else’s presenceand interrupt multiple classes💀💀
fr my pet peeve is the choir kids singing out of no where. my cousin was in show choir and will always try to sing and overdo it when we listen to music. 🙄
I knew Sue was supposed to be the villain, but when she would speak straight facts, she wasn’t wrong. And she was the most self-aware character on the show.
Because Sue actually cared for the students and wanted them to study properly instead of frolick after love and sing like Disney Princesses in the middle of school. She was tough but loved them.
Glee was one of thoses shows where at the time you watched it you rooted for Will and actually thought he was a great person and teacher, and dont't get me wrong his heart is usaully in the right place. but you watch Glee back again and realise he does some terrible things and you kinda understand where Sue is coming from.
If the Glee rebooy truly ends up being a thing, they NEED to bring Jane Lynch back. No one else can play her. Meanwhile, bring Ben Platt in for Will - I need to see Lynch rip into him every week.
mr schue had chosen taking off the right of a trans girl the right of utilizing the bathroom she HAS RIGHT TO USE to CONTINUE TO THE TWERKING SHIT WITH MINOR STUDENTS. someone please call the FBI for this man. i totally agree with sue on this one.
Sue Silvester somehow became my comfort character.... (although I quite disagree about her dismissivness concerning Love, Actually... although I may be biased as I am British and it's one of the most "British" movies of recent time)
Sue was honestly the most real person in the show lol. She felt like a real person. When she called out Will for being a half assed teacher and told him he's so obsessed with glee club but ignores the band, YESS SUE LAY IT OUT ON THE FLOOR
Sure, she was brash, but considering the rest of the adult characters, she was honestly the most responsible and admirable. Especially when you find out about her disabled sister, and how much she loves her. She's not a monster. She's just afraid of being vulnerable.
Heck, when she became principal and Kurt was being threatened, she was the only adult in the history of that show to actually respond in the correct manner and do something about it.
Because her delivery was trash. If doesn't matter how right you, no one wants to and will inevitably refuse to listen to you if you act like an asshole.
I recently had to finish a project which took me a few nights and I put Glee in Netflix as background noise. Whenever she and the gay dude, but specifically only with his father, got screen time, I got easily distracted. She (or the gay dude for that matter) wasn't necessarily a good person, but probably one of the more interesting characters
The worst two moments of Mr Schue's was when he said no to Sue's offer for the extra bathroom key, and when he suspended Marley because she wore a different outfit for the performance. This was because she felt uncomfortable in her Gaga outfit. I could write a whole essay about Mr Schue being toxic and the worst teacher
The fact is that Sue doesn't go on some big emotional arc but the audience go from hating her in the first episode to her secretly being everyones favourite byyyyyy..... episode 5?
cant believe they wanted us to think she was the villain 😭. shes right in most situations and speaks her point eloquently, although insultingly. the only thing she lacks is tactfulness, she doesnt word things to protect others feelings. some people find that bitchy, some people are able to get past the shock and/or hurt and/or anger and dissect the meaning of what she said. she speaks pointedly and i can respect that
