My personal ranking: 1. DOG MAN STAR 2. SUEDE 3. COMING UP 4. BLOODSPORTS 5. AUTOFICTION 6. THE BLUE HOUR 7. NIGHT THOUGHTS 8. HEAD MUSIC 9. A NEW MORNING
I don't get why Anderson disowed A New Morning but not Head Music A New Morning has some excellent songs whereas Head Music is almost entirely dogshit, apart from Everything Will Flow I think he let the chart position affect his opinion of the music
1: Coming Up 2: DogManStar 3: Autofiction 4: Suede 5: A New Morning 6: Bloodsports 7: The Blue Hour 8: Night Thoughts 9: Head Music and the best 10 songs, in no particular order - Everything Will Flow The Asphalt World The Wild Ones By The Sea The Living Dead Another No One Trash (one of the most perfect pop songs ever written) Obsessions This Time Whipsnade
Your voice was MEANT for RU-vid commentary, absolutely adore this series thank you so much for producing such an entertaining set of videos. Love from Brighton mate ❤
I like a new morning. its great to have an album that is so suede sounding but an easy listen or like a light suede. But it is at the bottom of the list. I would put dog man star as second no matter how much I adore it coz coming up is at number one...10 tracks and 5 of them are singles...amazing. if sci-fi counts I will but that as number one coz their b-sides are pure gold. Suede one of the most underrated bands of all time 01 - Coming Up 02 - Dog Man Star 03 - bloodsports 04 - A New Morning 05 - Head Music 06 - suede 07 - autofiction 08 - Night thoughts 09 - The Blue Hour can we put Here Comes the tears on this list? Songs too many to mention but b-sides would take the top 10 for sure. and yes Astrogirl is an amazing song
I have emotional complexities. Saw suede on the tour for the debut album at The Palace in Hollywood, Cranberries were the support. Saw them again in San Fran in 95.
I adore all of their albums ecxept "A new morning"...It sounds like Travis or early Coldplay. The highest musical maturity for me is "Dog man star". I listened to "Night thoughts" and "Blue hour" during the blackout and they sound perfectly!
1. Dog Man Star 2. Suede 3. Coming Up 4. Night Thoughts 5. Autofiction 6. Head Music 7. The Blue Hour 8. Blood Sports 9. A New Morning... Honestly, number 1, 8, and 9 are the only ones I'm sure about. The rest might need rearranged eventually. I would do the songs but it would take me forever to choose. But I will say My Dark Star is my favorite song by them.
@@tokyochuchu it was a b-side to the single Stay Together which came out between Suede and Dog Man Star. But yea it also appears on Sci-Fi Lullabies which, as a collection of B-Sides, has no business being as good as it is.
@@call_me_pebble Yeah... Suede's early b-sides were amazing. He's Dead, The Big Time, Killing of a Flash Boy... Really great tunes. I checked out My Dark Star. It's also a great tune.
A fantastic video thank you. While I 100% agree with what you said about Head Music, I can't believe you love Elephant Man. It's my least favorite Suede song ever :) My List 1) Dog Man Star 2) Suede 3) Head Music 4) Autofiction 5) Coming Up 6) Night Thoughts 7) Blood Sports 8) Blue Hour 9) New Morning Sci Fi Lullabies would be 3/4 if counted
ALBUMS... 09... Head Music 08... A New Morning 07... Bloodsports 06... Night Thoughts 05... Autofiction 04... The Blue Hour 03... Coming Up 02... Dog Man Star 01... Suede SONGS... 10… The Wild Ones, 09… Life Is Golden, 08… So Young, 07… Indian Strings, 06… She’s In Fashion, 05… Everything Will Flow, 04… Saturday Night, 03… Lazy, 02… Oceans, 01… Animal Nitrate, 1... Blur ... A surprise to me but on re listening I liked a lot more than I remembered... 2... Pulp ... The best three album run and I do re visit all three from time to time... 3... Suede... Always thought they were a good band but I really have to be in the mood to play any of their stuff... 4... Oasis... Apart from half a dozen songs I am never tempted to listen, Liam's voice often irritates me after two or three songs... All in all there are still several other bands from the era that I prefer but these four are definitely responsible for some of the very best albums & songs of the time...
@@tokyochuchu To be honest none of the Suede albums are bad in my opinion, I cannot say that about all the Pulp albums... As far as all the albums being re listenable Blur shade it by a short distance but at the height of Britpop Blur would have taken bottom spot in order of interest out of the four bands... A lot of bands/artist (if not all) would just be wasting their time if everybody just liked the same output... 🙂
Thanks for doing this; much better than other videos ranking the band's creative output. Suede have been my favourite band since they released Metal Mickey in Septemeber 1992. If it was a stand-alone album, I'd choose Disc 1 of Sci-Fi Lullabies as my favourite album of theirs. But it isn't, so here's my list: 1. Night Thoughts 2. Dog Man Star 3. Suede 4. Coming Up 5. Bloodsports 6. Head Music 7. The Blue Hour 8. Autofiction 9. A New Morning
Good job. I am a huge admirer of Suede"s earlier catalogue, but I have an issue with anything after Head Music, as they stopped experimenting, and have in turn become more and more trite and formulatic and repetitive.
The only album I didn't listen to is "A new morning"...As for me, the best of them are "Dog man star", "Coming Up", "Bloodsports", "Night Thoughts" and "Autofiction" 😉
I'm going to go for: 1. Dog Man Star (had it on regular rotation for 30 years!) 2. Suede 3. Night Thoughts 4. Coming Up 5. The Blue Hour 6. Head Music 7. Autofiction 8. Bloodsports 9. A New Morning Great channel, btw.
ALBUMS 01 - Coming Up 02 - Dog Man Star 03 - Suede 04 - A New Morning 05 - Head Music 06 - Autofiction 07 - Bloodsports 08 - Night thoughts 09 - The Blue Hour SONGS 01 - The Sound of the streets 02 - Everything will flow 03 - So Young 04 - The Wild Ones 05 - The Power 06 - Lazy 07 - Saturday Night 08 - The Chemistry between us 09 - Superstar 10 - Modern Boys Impossible to choose 10 favorite songs, there are lots and lots of amazing b-sides and album tracks that could have made the top 10
Like you, I much prefer A New Morning to Head Music! If only Everything Will Flow and He's Gone had been on A New Morning in place of Streetlife and Astrogirl, it would have been a classic.
