Well that did not go well! But very preventable! And a easy repair ....I hope!

Good luck with that repair, oh no!

Been there! I sure dislike the walk back to the crash site. We've all done it, but I'm impressed with your attitude, you stay positive! Comes with the hobby. Peace from California!!

When someone says they never crash then 2 things are happening! Either they are lying or they aint flying! Remember we learn ten times more from a crash than we ever do from a great landing!

So quick question for you, I've got six flights on my new CZ t28, and I've bounced every one of them. I'm flying to 7000 battery, I think I may have it too far forward because it requires a lot of nose up trim. I know I need power on landing but I don't like bouncing this thing. Again. Thanks, and peace!

Bummer brother.. Well, at least you got something to work on in the shop this weekend.. 🙂

True but unfortunately I have to work this weekend!

Don't worry. No one without a beak could have handled that gust of turbulence at near stall speed. Happy gluing.

lol Thanks!

Look at how hard the flag was blowing in the direction of the bounce, that cross wind had no mercy the moment the plan bounce the wind just went for it
@FatGuyFliesRC
@FatGuyFliesRC Год назад
Yeah the crosswind doubled with the bad approach was a killer.

That Viper 70 is very unforgiving. Go too slow in a turn and it will just fall out of the sky. Done it twice.
@FatGuyFliesRC
@FatGuyFliesRC Год назад
yeah it stalls easy without enough speed.

Damm 😮, easy fix I’m sure , once you master the hot glue gun anything is possible 😂,
@FatGuyFliesRC
@FatGuyFliesRC Год назад
Well I will use epoxy on this one with some carbon fiber rods. OR I may use hot glue. But on the back burner for now..

When you say epoxy. what kind of epoxy do you use?
@FatGuyFliesRC
@FatGuyFliesRC 2 месяца назад
Gorilla glue brand 5min

When you are standing on the runway and landing toward yourself, you lose two things: ability to judge touchdown trajectory and airspeed or rate of decent. Looks like you came close to landing on one of those circle pads you like to aim for though 😜
@FatGuyFliesRC
@FatGuyFliesRC Год назад
Yeah it is a bad habit that comes from me trying to get as close to the plane as possible for filming reasons. It is a constant balancing act between standing proper for flying verses getting a better closer shot. The solution would be to have a camera man but that just is not possible for my schedule.

I thought exactly the same thing, standing behind the fence at the pilot station gives you a 100% improvement on judging where your plane is in all situations

I switched out the nose gear with the FMS Avanti 70mm.. the mains are fine but the nose gear takes a beating on our runway.. I never use flaps with heavy head winds. Just seems to create way too many stalls
@FatGuyFliesRC
@FatGuyFliesRC Год назад
I really dont know why I had flaps on , I know that contributed to the stall.

Damn that sucks. Definitely bit ya good as it's known for. Way to slow for sure. Easy fix I hope
@FatGuyFliesRC
@FatGuyFliesRC Год назад
Yeah it was a minor crash that I caused due to me going to slow and from my perspective of where I was at the time.

Love my 70mm viper. Haven't done that yet. Hopefully I don't 😊

Not many planes will survive that landing but I did find the Viper did not have reinforcement in the nose area and was weak.
@FatGuyFliesRC
@FatGuyFliesRC Год назад
It is often after a crash that you see where shortcuts were taken . Still a good flying EDF.

So sorry, that stinks. It did not look like that hard of a hit, but all on the nosewheel I guess.
@FatGuyFliesRC
@FatGuyFliesRC Год назад
Well no real reinforcement there and of course that's where it hit.
