We visit the 2019 North American Suffolk Horse Association Annual Gathering. This year it was held in Suson Park, St Louis, MO. The association works to promote and propagate this rare breed.

Joe interviews Val Barnica of Y-Bar Hitch. She discusses the Suffolk breed, and the efforts to expand the breeding pool as well as the horse breed itself. We meet all of her draft horses. And we see some great shots of her 6-horse hitch pulling a vintage wagon.
Next we meet Ken Spann, also of Y-Bar Hitch. He shows us his vintage Horner Bandwagon, its restoration and how he came to own it. It was originally used to transport "ladies of the evening" to mining camps in the Yukon.
Lastly we attend a Round Pen training session with expert horse trainer Doc Hammill. He shows us his gentle way with horses and some key points in training:
Develop a relationship of trust, friendship, companionship, and mutual respect.
Ultimate goal to get the horse to CHOOSE us to be its leader.
Doc practices many things with the ultimate goal of getting accustomed to the rope harness and lead lines.
