I loved Sugar Ray. I had 2 or 3 of their albums and I wasn't even 13. I hope they are remembered. I wonder if anyone is listening to them like my generation listened to 80s music.
If you're lazy like me and don't want to tune a half-step down, you can play everything a half-step down instead. Like the rif would be one fret lower. And instead of playing A, E, D, E open chords you can play G#, D#, C#, D# (bar) chords Big ups to Marty for making every lesson easy and enjoyable!
I remember trying to learn this a while ago but the other video I watched the guy made it really complicated so I gave up, but this was super easy thank you!!
Dude from the bottom of my heart thank u so much like legit I couldn't have gotten to my level of guitar playing if it wasn't for your detailed tutorials! Thank u so much for spreading ur talent to people like me!!
When this song came out in 1999, it was played more than ANY song I can remember. Every time you would turn on the radio... it was playing. Nice lesson as usual Marty. Please give me a new Beatles or Jimi song. Michelle would be a good one
Hank Moody I ordered the same guitar on the 20th! Hasn't shipped yet, but hopefully soon. For now, I'll stick with the ol Washburn until the Taylor gets here. Hope the 214ce is treating you right, I can't wait for mine!
Thank you so much for the lessons Marty! I've been playing for two months and I can see my improvement. Could you please do an Are You Ok by Daniel Caesar tutorial. I really want to learn that song. Thank you again!
I love watching your videos, and seeing new ways to play my favorite songs. I learned the lick playing on the 3rd and 4th fret and then going to the 1st and 2nd fret
Hey Marty, you know what would be really cool? If you, James James and Rick Beato and the "Shutup and Play Your Guitar" guy would get together and make a video - all on the screen at the same time in your normal settings, playing the same song, taking turns at verses, solos, etc. - collectively that would be a significant audience and the ad money raised could go towards helping our front line health care workers - just a thought.
Thank you for still putting out these amazing videos! They’re making #QuarantineLife way more enjoyable! Do you think you’d be able to do a song from The Amazing Devil? They’re an awesome UK based folk rock band and I can’t stop listening to their music!
Thank you so much for making this, i had this song stuck in my head for ages and couldnt figure out what the song was called and when i came across another song that played i checked their other songs and this song was right there. Learning this piece makes finding this song that much sweeter.
Marty's hometown is Newport Beach, CA. Cool, I didn't know that. It might be part of the reason why he hasn't up and moved to Nashville like so many musicians have and continue to do. California as some major problems politically, but for those of us who grew up with the sand, beach and babes, well, it's kind of hard to leave that behind. Just say'n.
I was watching your lesson on Gimme Shelter and was messing with the intro part but still in standard tuning and not open E. I was thinking. This sounds a lot like Every Morning.
Thanks Marty I love all of the songs that you teach. And I love the guitar that you use becausebit is so pretty. I am so grateful that you are not hiding your blessing that God gave you.😃
Awesome lesson. I wanna throw a song in the mix of requests the devils right hand Johnny Cash. If you could that be awesome! Thanks Marty keep on rocking!
Your way teaching guitar is just awesome , just learned another brick in the wall solo from one of your videos, absolutely amazing, Thank you sir for providing quality content even in these difficult times. Sir just one request please make a lesson on both the solos of on an island by David Gilmour,. ☺🙏🙏
Man that J 45 is Booming, the half step down is the kicker! Sounds gr8! Congrats on reaching 2 million subs, do you think you'll stick with this "guitar thing"?
Awesome video Marty. I've been playing guitar for over 30 years and have some bad habits. One of them is my strumming hand. When I hold the pick between my thumb and index finger my fingers move instead of with my wrist instead of just my wrist. I drop the pick all the time, strumming patterns are very hard. I do my own strumming to what sounds good to me. Any advice on how to work with this because I'm not sure at this point I can unlearn what I've learned...
