The song, along with most of their songs, is actually commentary on a serious topical subject. This one is actually a treatise on the dangers of eating disorder. Don't feel bad, I am also woefully behind on Kobato 's lyrics because the music is so good, Po!
Brutal cuteness in perfection. They published a new song, OTAKU Lovely Densetsu, but also if you pick any other song by Hanabie, you will have the right one. A band with only damn good songs.
It took me half-a-dozen listens for this to gel for me: Hanabie is one of those rare bands that can take what could be five different songs and weave them into a two-minute-and-change masterpiece.
I think hip hop or rap is just an essencial part of Japanese music now, along with EDM makes what Japanese music sound like in recent days. You can find all kinds of music elements in JPOP, rock or even metal music, and thats what I found interesting about Japanese music.
One of the most brilliantly constructed songs I've ever heard under 3 minutes. Every riff absolutely slaps. They pack so many elements into such a tight space. An extremely efficient band.

I wonder what Fee Waybill would think of this band? A fun band to watch with a serious element to them. While I enjoy them immensely, sometimes my elder brain can't keep up with what's going on. I know it's a cliche but that song is a real rollercoaster tour - and at the end you're totally surprised it was less than three minutes long! And, believe me, nothing replace being two meters from Yukina screaming at you (I usually hate people screaming at me ... she's a HUGE exception 😅).

I'm still here _for_ the talky bits, Chase! Hanabie. is great. The entire album this song is from is fantastic. As others have said, check out their latest release, OTAKU Lovely Densetsu. For another suggestion, check out Baroness sometime. They're American, sorta prog, and their last album, released last year, "Stone", was amazing. I'd recommend "Last Word", but it's over 6 min, so if you want something shorter go for "Anodyne", as it's bit over 3 min. "Choir" is my personal fave off the album, but it's a bit different with a spoken word style vocal. Excellent, but probably not ideal for a first song to introduce the band. They've been around for 20 years or so, brain child of frontman John Baizley, releasing on their own label, and the current lineup is gold.
Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now is another absolute experience from Hanabie. All of their music is awesome and a roller coaster of tempo. There are so many great Japanese metal bands both male and female fronted that are unique and such experiences. If I could suggest just a single song I would suggest Jiluka - Venom I listen to everything from Taylor Swift to Lorna Shore. And Jmetal is probably the craziest genre. But so much fun. I can’t remember has he done a Hanabie song before I thought you did one. Either way, it’s always positive seeing people react to them. I will say Chase does need to react to more maximum the hormone. Which fun fact Hanabie started out as a maximum the hormone cover band
If you wan't matched up drums in a video, I think Sokoninaru - Tenohira De Odoru will provide. They are not metal, but they do a lot of change ups like Hanabie.

Before you react to their brand new song they just released like 2 weeks ago, you really need to check out the cover version of Believer, by imagine dragons, that Hanabie did. I think it's better than the original.

All the above are MV (Music Videos), live is a more problematic thing regarding Hanabie. The movies are heavily produced to be fun and sound perfect. Early live performances had very bad sound quality and the band was rather amateur on stage. There are better live videos now. They have better sound quality and they also have rather extensive backing tracks to give the original feel. Usually I prefer the MV, but some like the live ones better. And some few live ones are actually fun and good. No pointers though.
