Actually I did. The jokes were made when Lake first posted pictures of the level and was trying to decide a name for it. I still call it Cocaine Hill Zone in my heart.
Yes, the main act remakes are being done by Falk and Andy. The new FFZ Act 2 has been made by Andy and is an amazing remix of Act 1. Foliage Furnace's Act 3 and Sugar Splash's Act 3 will likely follow suite.
Well, I can't wait for those. You may not be doing as much but your tracks are just as good as Falk's, in my opinion (Although Lost Levels act 1 is probably my favourite track overall lol) I'm interested to see what you're going to do for he boss as well.
The remix is pretty kickass to be honest, but this song right here is mixed together with the Act 2 version in a special act of this zone once you complete the game which is fantastic.
Not sure yet. Depends on if I end up doing more of the soundtrack. Besides that, Foliage Furnace isn't done, I'm still doing Act 3 and the Boss music for it. Sugar Splash's Act 3 and Boss will be freelanced by Falk.
Every stage will have an unlockable 4th act with higher difficulty. We've decided that for most of these special acts, I'll be doing a 16-bit remix of the level's music. Thus the original versions Sugar Splash and Foliage Furnace are being moved to those. However, the Act 2 that's here on RU-vid has been thrown on the cutting room floor and a new Act 2 song was created. Haven't decided what to do with the original version yet.
Definately do something, 'cause both of these songs are some of the best I've heard in 16-bit quality. Foliage Furnace was nice too, but if I'm not mistaken those tracks are simply being remastered for the three main acts? I'm also looking forward to hearing those Falkified. Now there's even more in ATS to look forward to, I suppose.
It's stuff like this that makes me sad for Sega... they tried and tried with Sonic 4 but just don't recapture the catchyness of the era. Fans do it far better and there is a very good example here, Can't wait to see how it's spun out.
I love the enjoyably quirky theme here. It's a shame neither song will be featured as heard here in the game itself, though if I heard right they may be featured on a bonus soundtrack?
