Sugnu (also spelt Sugnoo) is a small town at the southern tip of the Kakching district in Manipur, India.[ It is on the bank of the Manipur River, to the east of Churachandpur district, Chandel district to the east and Bishnupur district. The town is inhabited by Meitei and Kuki communities. Meitei inhabitants is called Sugnu but Kuki area is known as Gunpi Gamkai. Illegal Kuki Zo immigrants started to kill Manipuri Meetei civilians and burn down Meitei houses.

The attack on sugnu and serou meitei houses started on 2am midnight of 26th may by kuki militants uklf and kuki volunteered. They burnt more than 500 metei houses and killed many meiteis

Such a wrong narration, Sugnu is a village where both Meiteis and kukis were living peacefully for many even after the violence broke out in Churachandpur because of the peace commitee made by their local MLA But suddenly one day, UKLF cadres along with other kuki militants surrounded the whole village and set every meitei house in fire and brutally killed eight meitei civilians who were unable to fled from the place Even a few kuki houses were even set on fire thinking it to be meitei house

Kuki started burning houses in sugnu area killing so many innocent meitei. Meitei retaliated the act of kuki. The firing between combine forces (including bsf, crpf, assam riflesand state forces) and kuki militants took place for 7 days contineously. It took one week for security forces to control the area. Kuki militants used automated rifles, sniper, bombs, night vision, drones etc to attack Both security forces and meitei civillian. How did such warlike weapons come? Attacking meitei and showing just the casualities due to reaction of the meitei and security forces is not acceptable. You should mention what your community had done to meitei if you are a religious leader. A religious leader should not hide the truth. Kuki is responsible for all such unstability in manipur.
