This is an amazing amp! Have had one for about 3 years now. Sounds great clean and cranked. Clean Fender sounds to ZZ Top. I use through different cabs as well as combo. Through a 4x12, can't beat it.
@@MisterTee That's right. In the early 60s vibrato was considered a more "boutique" circuit than trem since it was more complicated (and expensive) to build. Fender started to use the term "vibrato" to essentially hoodwink unsuspecting buyers; the idea was to give them the impression that they were getting something that was more expensive than it actually was
There are so many amps that they all start to sound the same to me. All of these Fender style boutique amps sound very similar, same with the Marshall etc.
I own Fender CS postmodern strat (ash/rosewood) with ancho poblano PUs and compound radius,.also have Suhr Alt Pro (alder/rosewood) and Thornbuckers..Both great guitars: fender has mojo and vintage sound, great neck and resonance. Suhr is really well designed&crafted, sounds more modern and plays really effortlessly. I love them both. I also own knaggs kenai t2 24.75 scale (seth lover humbuckers) and is superior in quality&sound&resonance to every gibson I ever played. I think all these different companies deliver a lot nowadays, because competition is hard. I like all my axes, each evokes different playing out of me. But most time I play strat, which is for me the best guitar design ever made. Regarding the amp: Tone king imperial with celestion alnico ruby speaker is tone heaven! Cheers!
So, with all the beers on the market, you basically have just a few types - Brown Ale, Pale Ale, India Pale Ale (IPA), Porter, Stout and Belgian Style Beer. Oh, and Wheat Beer.
@@rectangularcuboid My point is that everyone is trying to recreate those amps instead of just doing their own thing. Perhaps PRS is doing that, but I don't see a ton of people buying Sonzeras.
@@Colt1704 It is an amazing amp. It has been compared to early Marshall amps and the vibrato circuit is all tube and lush. Leave it on slow and it creates a beautifully full effect. It is mid focused, so not like a black-panel Deluxe. The 61 Deluxe is what Billy Gibbons used on Tres Hombres. The same tone.
As a furniture builder and an owner of two Suhr guitars, the economics of this kind of tele build shouldn't come anywhere near that, regardless of artist endorsement.
Darryl Stevens thanks bud. But I say working man as the guitar player who is paying his mortgage with guitar playing. The working professional guitarist spends 3-4K on a guitar all of the time. At least amongst my buddies and fellow working musicians.
Maybe someday the music industry will get together and stop using the term vibrato and tremolo interchangeably. Would you point at a phaser pedal and call it reverb? There is a difference (subtle as it is) and it is a different effect. You would think that the salesperson at least would get it right as a representative of the manufacturer.
LOL Andy has to ask what the price of his signature guitar is...because they are all given to him. The sound of all amps and guitars is based on the skill of the player.
That’s actually an incredible price for that amp. I paid £2000 for my Victoria 20112 which was still a great price for such a perfect amp and I would have easily thought that this Hombre amp was at least the same price. I honestly don’t know why people bitch so much about these kinds of prices for this American-made high quality! Just look at the Fender AVii line. Adjusted for inflation, it’s not far off the price and quality of the vintage equivalents at the time they were new! I think the only deserved criticism is at Gibson these days imo
Danny Brooks sorry bud. We just knocked this out to talk product. Pop over to any of my channels, suhr page, or my website (andywoodmusic.com) for tons of pickin.
Groundbreaking for 2020. Suhr makes a 1963 Deluxe. And demoed with a telecaster with a minor headstock change to avoid a lawsuit. I'll stick with Fender. Suhr should start making their own designs at this point.
Dan Young my guitar has some pretty drastic differences from a stock tele. Have you checked the specs? 24 fret, custom heel joint, modified tray etc. etc. play what you like, but implying it’s just a tele with a modified headstock is pretty small sighted.
@@roymontero4066 riiiiight. Because the Silver Sky is so original... Paul Reed Smith is doing the same thing as Suhr and any other builder. Taking their piece of the pie to tailor to a different market and to please their endorsees. All of these companies build great gear. If you don't like it then buy/play what you do like.
I agree with you Troy. Mr. Suhr used to work at Fender custom shop and I assume thats the reason he only knows how to copy them. The fact is that, he makes great quality instruments however, his strats and teles doesn't have that mojo that Fender has. I've own 2 strat and 2 teles for few months and I sold them all. Plays nicely they're all 2% short when it comes to original Fender mojo. Just my 2 cent.
