This is the only song that shows what it's really like for a young person being misunderstood and attacked at all angles. He starts out just wanting time alone and then you literally hear the music fall apart and swirl up into a full mental breakdown. It's funny because my Mom also came into my room while i was staring at the ceiling and yelled at me for being on drugs when I was just tired from school.

Back in 1986, I had " Suicidal Tendencies" written in theirs big cool letters, on the back of my leather jacket, and I had my hair like GBH singer, , and I can tell you that people we're waiting that I walked by acouple of feet to turn back and READ AGAIN what was on my jacket!🤣 I'm 57 now, and still love them, but men sometimes I miss those days!!!

I had nu metal for my teenage anger I felt back in the late 90s-early 2000s, but man oh MAN did this song encapsul how it was for me and my parents back then! From the church thing, wanting to seek therapy but being denied it, parents breaking my metal CDs because they thought it was "satanic" and making me "evil and depressed", etc.

As a new father, this song really makes me want to take the time and effort necessary to hear out my kids and not dismiss their feelings like they did with Mike. I will also give them Pepsi whenever they want.

I was a metalhead, but went to a small school so I was friends with the punk rockers, never really cared for punk, but this song is always good and classic!

I never cared much for Suicidal Tendencies but this one song is a classic and the video is great, with Mary Woronov (Chelsea Girls, Death Race 2000, Silent Night Bloody Night, Rock n Roll High School and many, many others) and Jack Nance (Eraserhead) cast as the parents. This is certainly not their greatest acting roles but they add a lot of fun and class to the video.

I was around back in the 80s LA Punk scene, what I remember most about this band is HOW SHOCKED white punks where when they saw the band for the first time and discovered the band members were Mexica American this made their head explode I saw the same reaction to the Bags the Plugs and Bad Brains. Grew up listening to Suicidal. Ironically when my daughter was a teen going through her stuff, this song helped us to connect a few times. Music was one of the only ways I had to reach her, to tell her that I been there and will be there through it all. Even when I dont understand.

Wow this sure brings back the memories. My best friend played guitar in a band they were really good. This was in their stage set. I did their sound for awhile. ( Free drinks for the band got me fired as sound man ) They would open with this most of the time. Back then I was so young I didn't realize how good they were. I mean to open with the Pepsi song and end with Stevie Wonder superstition. Is pretty wide variety. By the time they hit superstition the crowd would be all in and screaming for more. I resonated with this song as a teenager so much. My parents never took the time to hear me out, or ever really care about how I felt. They always just kicked me out, or chalked me up as a “troubled kid” when really a lot of what I was going through and the trauma I have was from them. This song perfectly expressed the anger and resentment I had towards the world at that time.
