Seeing a young Arthur Weasley saying these things has made my day😂 I must now see the man at least once in my life so I can tell him "oh! Suit you sir!"
Looking back at these sketches reminds me of the old Monty Python “Nudge, Nudge, wink, wink” with Eric Idle: “Is she a goer, likes uniforms does she, know what I mean, know what I mean nudge, nudge, wink, wink” 😉
I remember taking my lad into a gentleman's outfitters when this was on and I don't know if the guys in the shop were doing it deliberately but they were going on like this 😂😂😂
17:07 Ken: These are jackets, these are shirts, and this, of course . . . is a TROUSER! Ken and Kenneth: OOH! I think I have watched every one of these sketches a dozen times or more, and they still make me laugh.
And did it for free. He used a quote of the Rowley Birkin, QC sketch line has Sparrow"so then they made me chief" if im not mixing up. Also Paul Whitehouse later did voice roles Has"Thackery" in the 2016 movie "Alice Through the Looking Glass"and 2)Has"William Van Dort / Mayhew / Paul the Head Waiter" in the 2006 Tim Burton movie"Corpse Bride"-both movies in which Depp had the or 1 of the main roles.
at 4:31 She failed dismally to not laugh. XD probably peed a little too. ORH! Suit you sir! ORH! And the special appearance by Johnny Depp was a surprise back in the day when I first watched this show.
Paul’s not only a comedian. He’s a fantastic actor. Like frighteningly fantastic. It can only be his own reluctance to venture outside the UK that’s kept him from the bright lights of Hollywood. People get Oscars for acting like his.
Closer he has been of Hollywood probably was his role has Anatas Mikoyan in the 2017 movie"Death of Stalin" (a movie in which for ex Steve Buscemi plays the role of Nikita Khrushchev). Also to note the voice roles:1) Has"Thackery" in the 2016 movie "Alice Through the Looking Glass"(in which Johnny Depp(who admires him) has"Hatter Tarrant Hightopp) and 2)Has"William Van Dort / Mayhew / Paul the Head Waiter" in the 2006 Tim Burton movie"Corpse Bride"(Depp had the main voice role).
He was actually a huge fan of the Fast Show so that's why he was in the farewell episode in 2000 and in a 2015 interview, he commented: "It was absolutely one of my proudest achievements. No question
Definitely. One of the inspirations was a man who worked for Hackney council who used to talk in a very similar way to this. They talk about it on the programme about The Fast Show which is on RU-vid.
I’ve started saying to my girlfriend “I’m going to give you a jolly good seeing to”. She laughs, she doesn’t know where it’s from. She thinks I’m talking like Boris Johnson. And if she misbehaved I warn her that I’m going to h e to give her a ‘bloody good seeing to. And once I’ve done it, I say ‘And let that be a lesson to you’ haha
25:14 Mark Mylod, director. He directs Succession. Crikey, he doesn’t seem old enough to have been running a show as far back as this. He must’ve been a baby.
I vaguely remember seeing a TV show about comedians and Harry Enfield mentioned Paul Whitehouse suggested this sketch as part of the Harry Enfield & Chums line-up, but Harry didn't find the idea funny. I like The Fast Show version of Suits You Sir but I do wonder what it would have been like with Harry & Paul as the tailors.
