It's actually so easy but I had to look it up different sources and only then understood the video. It's a bit dissapointing that no one explains this short and clear. That's why there is so much confusion till today around it. Anyway now I know. Allah guided me! It's as if someone told me what to read and pick from different sources.

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, There was a fatwa given regarding this topic, it may help to clarity the issue more inshaAllah. The prostration of forgetfulness - before or after the tasleem? Question: Is the prostration of forgetfulness (sujood as-sahoo) to be done before the tasleem (completion of the prayer) or after it, or are there situations where it is to be done before the tasleem and (likewsie) situations where it is to be done after it? Response: It is permissible to do the prostration of forgetfulness before the tasleem and after it. However, that which is best is to do it before the tasleem if one missed something from the prayer such as not having done the first tashahhud or having missed out an obligatory part of the prayer, such as the saying of "Subhaana Rabbee al-'Adtheem" in the rukoo' or (the saying of) "Subhaana Rabbee al-A'laa" in the sujood. However, if it (the prostration of forgetfulness) was (to be done) for something which was extra, such as having done the tasleem before completing it (the prayer) or for rising up for the fifth (rak'ah) in a four (rak'ah prayer) or the third (rak'ah) in two (rak'ah prayer) or the fourth (rak'ah) in the maghrib (prayer) and then he remembered and (immediately) sat down (again), then it is best that (the prostration of forgetfulness) is done after the tasleem. So that which is forgetfully done extra in the prayer, then it is best that (the prostration of forgetfulness) is done after the tasleem and if he were (instead) to always do it before the tasleem or always to do it after the tasleem then there is no harm in that, inshaa.-Allaah. and it is mentioned of the Messenger (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) this and that [Ṣaḥīh al-Bukhārī (2/65) ḥadīth of 'Abdullāh ibn Buhaynah (radhi-yallaahu 'anhu)]. Shaykh Ṣāliḥ ibn Fowzaan al-Muntaqaa min Fataawa Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fowzaan - Volume 5, Page 40, Fatwa No.59

@@majidhussain3896 Barak Allahu Feek Brother. That's a great reference Fatwa. However I think it would be best to show it simple and short to everyone. I still have not found any video on it. I think most are ashamed to ask. But I believe we must do so in order to improve our deen and constantly learn. 😊

If I forget one the wajib let’s say I’m praying asr and I’m in my four raka and I realized I left out one of the wajib in my first raka do I need to pray another raka to replace the first Rake since I forgot one the wajib or do I just performed two prostration before Salam? And then finish my prayer and what I’m confused on is do I need to perform another rake to replace the one that I made mistake in or just do two prostration

Deliberately adding anything, or omitting any pillar or waajibat, renders your Salah null and void. Sujoodus-Sahw is for forgetfulness only. If you add anything: a. He should complete the Tashahhud, and make the salutations (salaam) and then prostrate for forgetfulness, and then give the salutation (again). If you omit any of the pillars: a. If he goes on and reaches its place in the next rak’ah, then he discards the rak’ah which he forgot it in, and the following one takes its place. b. If he has not reached its place in the next rak’ah, then it is obligatory upon him to return to the missed pillar and to perform it and whatever comes after it. In either of these two cases it will be obligatory upon him to perform prostration for forgetfulness after the salutation. If you omit any of the waajibaat: a. If he remembers it after having moved on from its place in the prayer, but before reaching the pillar that follows it, then he returns to it and performs it. Then he completes his prayer and gives salutation, prostrates for forgetfulness, and gives salutation. b. If however, he remembers it after reaching the pillar that follows it, then it is cancelled, so he should not go back to it but should continue his prayer and then prostrate for forgetfulness before giving the salutation. If you omit any of the sunnahs: a. You don't have to do anything. If you have doubts: a. That one of the two matters is more weighty in his mind, so he will act upon what is more weighty to him, then he will complete his prayer based upon that, after which he should give the salutation, prostrate for forgetfulness and finally give the salutation. b. Neither of the two possibilities are more weightier in his mind. Therefore, he should act upon what he is certain of, which will be the lesser of the two, and complete his prayer based upon that, and then prostrate for forgetfulness before giving the salutation, and then give the salutation. Doubt is not taken notice of in matters of worship in three cases: a. If it is just a self-delusion, having no reality, like devilish whisperings. b. If it occurs very frequently to a person such that he does not perform any act of worship except that he is caused to doubt in it. c. If it occurs after the completion of the acts of worship, then it is not taken account of, as long as he is not certain of it, in which case he will act upon what he is certain of جزاك اللهُ خيرًا

Assalamu Alaikum, BaraakaAllahu fi kum, in this video when demonstrating the sujood as sahw for taking away a pillar. The demonstrator forgot his second sujood which is a pillar, now forgetting a pillar isn't he supposed to replace that rakah with another rakah then finish up with sujood as sahw after the taslim, because i just saw him simply just do only sujood as sahw to compensate for the missed sujood which is a pillar. I thought it was only when you forgot a waajib that it can simply be compensated with sujood as sahw before the taslim and no need to bring back the waajib. Kindly clarify, jazaakumu Allahu Khairan

Summary of vid (please tell me if I have made a mistake) Pillars - Standing during salah if you are able to, Opening takbeer, Fatihah, Ruku, Rising from ruku, standing up straight, sujood, rising from sujood, sitting between 2 prostatrions/sujoods, being at ease, final tashaahuud, sitting to recite final tashaahuud, 2 salams in taslim, doing these pillars in order Wajibat - takbeer other than opening takbeer, saying sami allahu ..., saying rabbanna wa lakl hamd, saying subhanna rabi alalla, saying subhanna rabbi al adheem, saying rabigh fir li, first tashahuud, sitting for first tashaahuud Cases where Sujood As-Sawh is performed 1. If you have added something to the salah, perform sujood as-sawh after taslim. 2. If you omit any of the pillars - If he goes on and reaches its place in the next rak’ah, then he discards the rak’ah which he forgot it in, and the following one takes its place. If he has not reached its place in the next rak’ah, then it is obligatory upon him to return to the missed pillar and to perform it and whatever comes after it. In either of these two cases it will be obligatory upon him to perform prostration for forgetfulness after the taslim. (almost all of this was taken from another commenter) 3. If you have forgotten a wajibat, perform sujood as-sawh before taslim. 4. If you have doubts but there is weight in one of the options or cases, complete your salah based on that weighty/most likely option. Then, do sujood as-sawh after the taslim. 5. If you have doubts with no weight on any of the possibilities, complete your salah based on what is certain. Then, do sujood as-sawh before taslim. 6. If you are the kind of person that always has doubts in salah, dismiss your doubts and pay them no mind. Again, please tell me if there is anything wrong in this comment. I don't want to spread misinformation.

Isn't it valid either way, whether you do if before or after taslim? Other things that wasn't explained is what about the words, what is said and when does it need to be silent and when out loud? Is a takbir needed before doing sujood and a subhaana Rabbi al-Alaa during sujood like a normal sujood?

Any other Takbeer other than first takbeer 2. Sami Allah 3. Rabbana wala kal hamd 4. Subhana Rabbi Al ala 5. Subhana Rabbi Al Adheem 6. Rabbigfirli 7. First tashhaud 8. Sitting for first tashhaud

• After both salam (5:06) This is done when you add someone or take a pillar away from the pillars of salah • Before the salam (6:05) ________________ • Omission of a pillar If you forget one of them, then you lose the rakah and then next rakah becomes our first rakah. Now after both salam, we do Sujood e Sahw. • If you forget a ruku, then stand up again and then do Sujood e Sahw after salams. • Now if you omit a Wajibaat like sitting for first tashhaud in Maghrib prayer, then you can not come back and sit. Instead you complete normally but before salam you do sujood. _________________ What to do when in doubt? If you are confused if you are on third or 2nd rakah, then you complete normally if you are thinking 3rd rakah has more weightage, and then so Sujood after salams. Now if you doubt 50/50 doubt between second and third, then you go after the certain and you are certain that you did 2, then that is what you assume and complete your prayer and do Sujood e Sahw before the salam. If a person has constant doubts, then you should dismiss and not worry.

So all we need to do is add an extra Sujud at the end of the salah if we lost count of how many rakat we are on? Please reply if someone sees this. Is it easier to just redo the salah or easier/better to do the extra sujud at the end of the salah?

No you go whit we're your certen of. So if you doubt between did you do 3 or 4 . Go whit 3 do one extra raka3at makes it 4 so maybe it's 5 . Then you do to prostrations of forgetfulness. Saleh al fawzan says you can do it before or after salaam. Me to get a little confused about. But choose before or after salaam until you memorized the best wat for them.. In sha Allah. I hope I made some sense. English not my firts language. Wasalm 3aljkum.

@@aboeAimen Thank you for replying. Sorry I still do not understand :/ What is salah Al Fawzan? If you speak Arabic, please type in Arabic but if not, jazak Allahu Kharain for your Niya to help. 🌼 I usually redo the salah if I forgot something serious or completely forgot what Surah I read. Please pray for me to stay Consistent in my prayers I really need the prayers to stay Praying & never feel lazy or tired.. yarab🤲🏻😞

Wa alaikum salam. No, the Imam takes your little mistakes. But if you do leave out a piller such as a ruku or last tashahud(the 1st tashahud can be made up with sujdah as sahaw) then you do a whole new rakat after the salam then 2 sajadah as sahaw. Usually in the congregational prayers people dont leave out pillers unless the daydream and didnt follow the imam. So no sajda as sahaw in congregational prayers for minor mistakes. A piller is i.e standing, ruku...but if praying alone you sould do sajdah as sahaw for minor mistakes, but remember major pilers then you need to do the whole rakat after salaam. Wallahu a'lam but clarify my info in'Sha'Allah Check out islamqa.info Wa salaam

What if I forget to recite Dua qanoot in third rakah of witr and I remember it when I go for sujood. So, then should I stand again to pray 4 rakah for Dua qanoot or should I just continue and do (prostrate of forgiveness) after Salah ? Or also if it should be before Salah or what please let me know.

Assalamu alaykum, my brothers and sisters. I have been searching a material on this topic and I have understood conditions, when it's applied but I can't get how it's done in more detail. Correct me if I am wrong after we intended to do sajda a sahw we say Allahu akbar, do a prostration, in the prostration say Subhanna Rabiyal Aĝlya, then with saying of a takbir go back to sitting position and what do we say here before performing the second prostration? JazakaLlahha Khairon in advance

My other question on doubt is this: During a congregation prayer, following an imam, I had mistakenly assumed/sat in a last tasyahud position (in my own forgetfulness) when in fact we were supposed to be sitting in the 1st tasyahud position. Is this part of the pillar or obligatory act-the different sitting positions for first and final tasyahud? Should I do sujud assahu then ? If so, how ? Barakallahu fik for your help. Assalamualaikum

I realized I forgot one prostration in the 3rd rakah after I finished the prayer. It hasn't been a long time since I finished the prayer so I know I have to redo the rakaah and perform sujood as-sahw. But should I do tashahhud after this rakkah then salam then perform sujood as-sahw? Or only salam then sujood as-sahw? And do I have to say the takbeer before starting this rakah?
