She's constandly getting bothered by shiro, she is on her period and she's tired but still, somehow suki has so much selfcontrol that she does no more than warn him. When she "bit" him, you can see how little violent she actually is, it's just meant to scare him off. Suki has more selfcontrol than, I dare to say, many humans do. And she's 4 years old! 28 In dog years, but it's still super impressive

Slotmech Even if Suki and or Shiro get mildly annoyed from time to time, it’s at least better than nothing. They’re both mentally stimulating themselves. Which is much better than sleeping their whole lives until they wither away. NATURALLY OCCURRING and MILD annoyances/inconveniences are a part of life. They make the good times, well, the good times. In other words, they have something to do. They’re given a problem to solve. Shiro: How to get Suki to accept his advance. Suki: Keeping Shiro from breeding her. It’s life fulfilling to solve problems. There is no such thing as a perfect life, because after a while it would drive you mentally insane

XD I agree with the fixing. Even if she isn't in heat, no male dog can get over a freshly female for him to take. It's practically the same with humans. Women get periods because "ovulating", but even if off the menstrual cycle, men are still able to impregnate women even after. 🙄 So it makes no difference to separate them if they are going to go at it either way. Better to fix em.

Well, they are both very young still and he has told us that later they *might* mate them again but it's not confirmed. Also neutering a male dog or a female dog can mess up their hormones, that happened with my male dog since when we did it to him he became weird and wanted too much attention all the time.

Grace Hensel The dogs have clearly been stressed and agitated. Shiro constantly harassing suki to mate, and her not wanting to thus showing aggression, I keep mine separate to not start fights and to keep them happy and healthy. Not to mention shiro shouldn’t be around puppies, they negatively affect him. He HATES puppies, putting them around him stresses him out so much it’s hard for him to eat. He could be used for mating, but shouldn’t be around the puppies.

Poor potat Shiro!! I feel sad for him.... The love he has for Suki ❤❤❤. He's a canine after all and just following his smell instincts... What Nature taught his ancestors. Suki on the other hand needs a break from reproduction because her hoomans are the kindest and most understanding people who are aware of her health requirements. Separation is beneficial for both shiro and suki... If one final litter of potats are planned for the future. Otherwise the hoomans would know who to fix to prevent further mating 😊. It’s 100% possible for a dog to not want to mate with a female after she’s shown aggression to him. Incase it matters she’s an australian shepherd german shepherd mix, the good boy was a chihuahua (very smart), and the dummy in love is a schnauzer.
