On the cover of Jujutsu Kaisen’s databook we have Yuji and Sukuna, so of course this book has to have a lot of details about the kind of curses, like did you know that he isn’t called that just because he’s the most powerful curse to ever exist? According to Gege Akutami, Sukuna has ALWAYS been called the King of Curses even before he became one himself, and as to the reason why, we can only gleam that this might have been because of how absolutely DOMINANT he was when he was alive, because the databook tells us that even when he was human everyone was terrified of him, and saw him as less of a curse user and more of a natural disaster. This is the reason why in life Sukuna never had a wife or any children of his own according to Gege, because people saw him more as something to be feared or worshiped than an actual person, which really squashes a lot of theories about Yuji being part of Sukuna’s bloodline somehow. Lastly apparently Sukuna’s biggest hobby in life and beyond has always been eating, and this makes sense considering how much food and cooking has to do with his Curse techniques, but eventually he went from eating normal food to EATING curse spirits, and that might honestly have something to do with how he went from a human being, to the strongest curse that ever lived.

Makes even more sense why Uraume is around if Sukuna is eating Cursed Spirits. Uraume can freeze the core of a Cursed Spirit, allowing him to then cut parts and limbs from it, without the parts disintegrating. Allowing Sukuna to eat them easily, albeit morbidly, as he eats them alive in that case.

Sukuna isn’t a curse. It’s been confirmed he was a human and the only ambiguous thing was cleared up with the culling game. He’s an incarnated sorcerer just like all the other culling game players, he made the same deal with kenjaku to become a cursed object after death and reincarnate in another era. I suppose philosophically you could consider all beings with cursed energy “curses” or whatever but by the standards of the series sukuna isn’t a curse. He’s not composed of cursed energy, he can’t heal with cursed energy, he heals with reverse cursed energy like all humans do. Idk how the fuck anyone who put any thought into it at all would come to the conclusion he’s a curse.

Actually it doesnt squash the theory of them being related in chapter 237 sukuna says he was a unwanted child mostly in jujutsu twins were seen as unlucky (maki and mai) which doesnt rule yuji being his descendent albeit distant and would explain his unnatural hatred for him i mean his hobby is legit making him suffer. He made the same deal with kenjaku to become a cursed object after death and reincarnate in another era just like all the other human sorcerers did. He can’t heal with cursed energy, he heals with positive energy. I suppose you could say he’s a curse philosophically, but then you’d have to consider all the other culling game players curses as well, since they underwent the same method he did.

I think there's a connection to yuji's bloodline and sukuna's bloodline, remember in the first episode we see yuji's grandpa saying something like don't die alone, make sure you're surrounded by people u love when u die and sukuna almost in his entire life is all alone on top of the world with power, I think sukuna has a twin or somewhat related to yuji's bloodline or maybe how gojo and yuta are related like cousins maybe Yuji and sukuna are related too, even yuji's father looks just like sukuna

Curse can be a verb or noun in the context of his title. Perhaps he was the king of cursing people through his actions. Though, if this was the case, it seems he was self actualized as a curse, preordained by fate as he fell from grace and was now the dishonored one. I think he’s the king of curses in a literal sense. I don’t know anyone better than sukuna at making binding vows and binding vows are most effective with people that have something to sacrifice or “nothing to lose”. He knows how to make best of a bad situation (a curse)

here's my theory right, so here's how yuji is connected to sukuna. back in the heian era when kenjaku taught sukuna how to split his soul, kenjaku took 1 out of the 20 fingers of ryomen sukuna, held onto it for years upon years until being in the body of yuji's mom. then pulled a similar experiment as he did with the death paintings. fuzing the final missing finger of sukuna into yuji's body during pregnancy to make him the literal embodiment of the perfect vessel for sukuna

It’s crazy that at one point Sukuna was a human. Like he started as a baby, and was most likely normal child. I wonder at what point he turned evil, or he started using his power to kill people and eventually eat them.
