Sulaiman Asanke was one of the proteges of Late Dauda Akanmu Epoakara of famed Awurebe. We sat and he went down memory lane, giving an idea how iconic Epoakara was without concealing a few of the legend's weaknesses.
Highly inspiring and educative interview. This is the first time I listened to Alhaji Asanke, I never knew he is this vast, articulate and inspiring. God will surely relaunch you sir. Àgbà, thanks for the good work.
He is right about Barrister; he appropriated every genre of music, turned them around into something else and new stuff. In the album "ORISA BI IYA OSI", where he serenaded Dauda Epo Akara, he showed that dexterity; he even appropriated his voice as he did that of I.K Dairo and his music in INFERNO; Barry was simply exceptional!
