At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I will never understand why we as women blame the other woman and not the man. The only way id blame her is if she knew about me. She was chosen for the sultan she had no choice but to go. I dont know what id do but i like to think id run to my friend and tell her before it happened so it wouldnt shes step in and say nope not my girl shes loyal to me first.

It's one of those moments where maybe she could've come up with an excuse of some kind or some other way to refuse him, but it's not as if she had any way of knowing that it'd work. And, honestly, she was absolutely being manipulated behind the scenes without even fully realizing it.

Or she could’ve told Hurrem herself and Hurrem would’ve prevented it. She decided to keep it a secret from her friend. Thats the betrayal. We all understand noone can say no to the sultan but there are other ways of saying No to him without actually saying no. Gulnihal wants to be a sultana just like Hurrem and Hurrem should understand not everyone is meant to serve or want to be a slave. She could’ve been nicer and understood Gulnihal’s point of view. In the end. Gulnihal was wrong for her decision. 🤷🏽‍♀️

you hurrem fans are funny. Hürrem barely treated her like a friend( she treated her like a slave and choked her before she knew that she slept with suleiman). You really think she would have been kind if gülnihal told her? Also there is nothing wrong with getting pregnant by suleiman. Gülnihal just like hurrem is entitled to improve her status, but according to hurrem stands hürrem is allowed to kill everyone

Ibrahim Pasha chose Gulnihal for the Sultan in order to make Sultana Hurrem angry. Gulnihal had no choice but to obey. Poor girl.

False, she did agree to go after they convinced her she had a chance to come up in the hierarchy if she got pregnant. She refused to go at first but agreed once they compared her to Hurrem, saying she could be like her. I do however agree with this narrative though, why shouldn’t she make the most of her time? She’s a young woman just like Hurrem who must use her time wisely, or remain a forgotten servant for the remainder of her life. The choice was however hers at the end of the day 🙏🏼

Either the women are chosen by his people or by him personally. You cannot refuse without a good reason. You were chosen as a concubine to go into the harem, the concubines purposes are to provide heirs. So it is not a betrayal

It was the way it the time tho and they always maid in the beginning if that what they are chose for but some people of power have a choice to be cruel to their maid:servant etc all in history and some can be good and close but once betrayal hits it hits, know you don’t know the show truly and fully and what in real life history happen and wouldn’t know because your too narrow minded.

Sultan Suleyman should blame Ibrahim for choosing the person which should help Hurrem overnight and with birth. He didn't do nothing instead. He even call her again. He was the one which made the others fight between them. He was the evil too.

Hurrem has every right to do anything and everything no matter what people and the show think and real people (us) who watch the show yall too narrow minded so you wouldn’t even get it if you watch the series and everything about it what I mean paid attention ,(in other word do your real life homework if something your really interested, and if your watching this show you should be and should know all what the real life history of what happen.) this a DRAMA based show of the real life history of the ottoman empire so a lot of this stuff and scenarios and character predicted in a certain light or way or two characters are at odd was never like that in real life , hope I spelled this in abc so everyone can get it and if you don’t your mind not very open to whole lot of possibilities
