Suleiman the Magnificent by Will Durant 

The channel just scheduled a 12 video series. They're back.

My name is Daniel Sanderson, I purchased the channel from Rocky last year for $500. Rocky needed to go on to other things. I haven't made any substantial changes to the channel beyond updating the thumbnails (with the help of Midjourney's AI) and responding to comments. I am a philosopher and want to do more Will Durant content and offer a free course. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

@@CulainRuledByVenus Had you read Will Durant more vigorously, you would have noticed that Mr. Durant has no problem addressing rape if it had been the case.

Thanks for assuming what I've read. My comment was only for that line, as specified. I never claimed he shied away from the subject in general.

This is the narrator of most of Durant's books, Grover Gardner.

We would welcome your efforts to improve the thumbnails. Do you have any experience creating compelling thumbnails that represent the value of audio recordings? We would like to have some image consistency across the channel and would welcome your expertise in this area if you have that to offer.

@@DurantandFriends What I have to offer, friends, is healthy feedback of a longtime listener and of someone who has read every Durant book from cover to cover. The AI images look cheap, plastic and often ahistorical. For this specific video, the old thumbnail of a Suleiman's Tughra was perfectly appropriate. I don't know why is aesthetic consistency necessary for topics that span three thousand years of history. I teach history, as an example, and the images I use are the most common statues or paintings of famous figures. It's free, quick and timeless. The AI aesthetics are already aging poorly. I can tell that you must have put much effort into it, but the point stands. What would really bring more attention to to the channel if your were to put up new excerpts from the books.
