I sure love hearing him but also seeing him play, he is like forcing the instrument to play what he wants, i'ts like a tug of war, a fight that he wins every-times, and also the way the music is evenly spread on the keys with both independent hands it's just amazing !

To me it's functioning like an G#7alt. If you take the bottom two notes off that's what it is. The A and C# add tension to a pretty normal voicing which is why it's so hip sounding. The A being b9 and C# the 11. That's my take.
