The pianist here in this video is just ok. Do this: play whatever your right hand is doing slowly. Don't worry if the left hand is slower than the right. The thing is to learn some fucking licks rote that the right hand is doing and get that inside you so you have something to play. The kid in the vid is doing thirds. Pro tip: it's all in the same key or scale. Learn the scale and play thirds all night long on it. It's just a chop, it doesn't mean anything. Well...it impresses people...some of them. Not me.

@VADIM IS LEARNING GUITAR: ..From the moment I first heard him (Sullivan Fortner) play... Thelonious Monk immediately came to my mind. All the "harshness" from these other two Critics is sooo unnecessary....!! So...inspite all of that....(!) ...Mr. Fortner is one who I'm waiting to go hear live when he comes to the NYC area.👍🏾
