I don't understand why Muslims love this guy. He was a monarch who lived in opulence and wealth. Prophet Muhammad wouldn't have stood for it for a second. He got mad at one of his companions because he had decorated a wall in his house with fancy cloth. Imagine how he would've felt about these monarchs who lived in big castles laden with gold and precious jewelry.
He gave three quarters of his wealth to charity, established 1300 universities, created religious and racial equality within the ottoman empire, and kept western influence out of Middle East (and we all know what happens when you let the west into the middle east, just look at iraq) and he ramped up the ottoman economy making unemployment and homelessness virtually non-existent. So the prophet wouldn't have been sad, he would've been elated, although I do see your point that your trying to make and I actually can respect it to, but just because his life was significantly better than many others doesn't mean he didn't make other people's live significantly better, although I can to an extent agree with your point.

I've studied Turkey and Middle East History thanks to a solid 3 year bachelor's period in College. This scene probably never occured that way... Ottoman empire was the "sick man of Europe" and had to be carried by Europeans during the 1853-1856's war of Crimea, and also for its modernization thanks to Germany at the end of the XIXe century. You can't imagine diplomacy going that way at that time ! Plus, this "French ambassador" looks more middle eastern than the sultan itself, ahaha. Another interesting fact : during this scene, they probably would have spoke in French, because at the time, before the Treaty of Versailles and then World War II, French was the international diplomatic language and not yet English ! The Sultan would have spoke with the ambassador in his language and not the other way around, but whatever. When you look for it on the internet, this affair is only mentionned by turkish and religious webistes' sources, which are (oh what a coincidence) contemporary to the last decade... This is a major problem with History : at the time where it happened, Sadi Carnot decided to not let the play be held in France because of a diplomatic concern : Germany was growing stronger in its relationship with Istanbul, and France wanted to avoid another incident with the last major Middle East power, nonetheless in decline. The scene unflods here, as the sultan have the powerful hand at play, but in reality, it would be the inverse : the French ambassador would have the last word on that, and only dealt patientally with Ottomans, because they wanted to isolate Germany diplomatically (Russia and Triple Entente, ect.) - but here its like whoa, the French should be afraid of the Sultan and the Ottoman Empire wrath... I mean, 20 years later and the Ottomans could not even hold their ground in the Balkans... This may seem like a heroic stand by the sultan, but in reality No,...just politics and minor diplomacy issues. This is not the first time I see a historical setting being turned away from the real events and power balances at the time, to serve contemporary ideological goals, with the nowadays badish relationship between Macron's France and Erdogan's Turkey. Though, this is not a unique case of history turned into propaganda - i watched the same thing being done in French television, with General de Gaulle's againtst Churchill in 1944, in a very bad taste. It's just a shame it happened here, on a series that i would not mind watching a bit, being a knowledger of Moderne Middle East History, myself.
Notice, Muslims, what the Ottoman sultan said: "We love the prophet so much we will die for him." Now acknowledge what he meant: "We love the prophet so much we will kill for him." Those are not the same thing.

@ Scribbles, ridiculing a religious leader? Yeah. No one should be immune to opinions. That would only devolve humanity. Here we see a video about a man with power, getting aggressive because his favorite person is going to be depicted by someone he thinks shouldn't depict him. @Hafiz Ahmed Sunan Abi Dawud 4294 Narrated Mu'adh ibn Jabal: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The flourishing state of Jerusalem will be when Yathrib is in ruins, the ruined state of Yathrib will be when the great war comes, the outbreak of the great war will be at the conquest of Constantinople and the conquest of Constantinople when the Dajjal (Antichrist) comes forth. He (the Prophet) struck his thigh or his shoulder with his hand and said: This is as true as you are here or as you are sitting (meaning Mu'adh ibn Jabal).” Now from what I can understand is that Muslims will lose Constantinople aswell and if yathrib is in ruins(probably a metaphor) then I don’t think there is any rise for us. The only way is down 😕
@Hafiz Ahmed well Constantinople being conquered again seems possible. Turkey rn has open hostility with almost all of its neighbours i.e Greece, Syria, France, Egypt, Libya, UAE etc etc. My other point is that I don’t think any caliphate will allow Madinah to perish. Even when the caliphate was based in Istanbul, the sultan used to send ornaments etc etc to Madinah. Anyways may we not see those days as the tribulations one will face in between are the toughest for all mankind.
@@hussainz666 Here are my thoughts: The state of Yathrib is in ruins, let’s say lack of religious devotion and let’s say this state is Saudi Arabia. The state of Jerasulem let’s say is Israel then all of this happens. Let’s say the new conquest of Constantinople is not an actual conquest but the Muslims who are now secular get back and realise who they are. Could of happened as Hagia Sophia was converted back to a mosque? Yet I doubt it. After these events, the war will break out and Mahdi and the Dajjal will arise.

If France had a war with the Ottomans in that time, the Ottomans wouldve lost because their technology was nowhere near than that of the French, or the British.
