I know the show adds the drama for entertainment but goodness i can only watch Mustafa and Mahidevran screw themselves over so many times before I smack my own forehead. Their enemies didn’t have to do a whole lot, they harmed themselves. Seriously, how did they think confronting the Sultan would go?
The constant plotting and blaming by these women are what gives Hurrem her power. The more they blame and accuse her, the further away they push Suleiman.
Hurrem said it "Mustafa is not very fortunate because he has you as a mother Mahidrevan" slowly helped her son to his demise by putting him against Suleiman.
She made is easy for Hurrem, Mahidevran was not very smart and resorted to crying and getting others to help. Hurrem was cunning and and knew how to work Suleiman.
mahidevran cried and complained his whole childhood playing the victim it poisoned his heart and mind she is the reason he fails not hurrem. had he not made mistakes to carry to his father he wouldnt be in this situation.

@@DadoPanda Exactly, Mahidevran is to blame for making Mustafa the way he is. Always whining and being a brat entitled to everything. If he became Sultan she would surely convince him to kill his brothers. He was too easily influenced by his weak and greedy mother.
Sehzade Mustafa never paid attention to his history lessons clearly. Meeting the Grand Vizier behind the Sultan's back, meeting the Captain behind his Sultan's back, bringing a free woman to his Harem, meeting the Janissary and giving them things outside of the Sultan's order, etc... are all things that ONLY a Sultan can do or must be allowed by the Sultan. He forgot how his grandfather killed his own brother and father. He forgot all of his predecessors' history and did and will do more things. Especially letting the traitors to his father's throne go. As if he was the one with the right to do so. He showed Grace istead of telling the person whose life was in danger about it. He played Sultan as if there wasn't one already. Unfortunately for him the real Sultan's soy, Mehmet Pasha ttold the Sultan 🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️ He became a contender for the currently occupied throne. Every action is obedience or treason. He was too self-righteous to see himself as a Shezade. He saw himself as a son, but he was a grown man and a shezade. I frankly feel sorry for Mahidevran. She was 2 years older than Hurrem, so she was a love stricken teen and young lady who focused on a man who treated her like any other concubine UNTIL he fell in love. She focused on the wrong things, but she later warned her son. She tried so hard and even spilt blood, BUT he was just too self-righteous to listen 🥲 She ended up doing things his way, the way she let him as a son. He was always behaving as a son. He died for it.
Mustafa was like that was because of his mother mahidrevan who played on his emotions since he was a young boy. Anyway he's not smart and was easily influenced by his mother and aunts and Ibrahim who were all greedy and power hungry.
Mustafa claims Ibrahim never commited treason or was disloyal to Sultan is the dumbest thing a Prince could ever do. He believes his father killed Ibrahim because he protected him smh Mustafas words are treasonous and disloyal. Sultan Suleiman never explained to his family why he had ibrahim executed because he didn't have too. He as the Sultan could do as he pleases, Hatice should've never been allowed to marry Ibrahim anyway. They started their relationship by sneaking behind the Sultans back. Also Suleiman protected Hatices children by keeping the reason a secret, had their dad been outed as a traitor would've looked bad not to mention the things he said about being the Lion tamer!!!
If I was a close friend or relative to Ibrahim I would wish to know so I could mourn and have certainity. By not telling the reason all the hate and accusations turned towards Hürrem. In this case she didn't do anything that led to his murder. She was shocked herself. Süleyman had no problem telling the world that Mustafa betrayed him (which wasn't true) but about Ibrahim's reason for execution he kept silent. Süleyman hated his son out of jealousy but protected his "best friend".
@@miamoser2389 Mustafa betrayed his father he knew his followers wanted to dethrone Suleiman and did nothing. He plotted with his Aunts to bring discord between the Sultan and his wife. Not to mention Mustafa acted as if he was Sultan more than once defying his fathers orders. This may seem like little mistakes to you but during those times "i'm sure Suleiman saw it as a threat to his reign". Sons killed fathers for their thrones back then, had Mustafa never stepped out of line or defied his father I'm sure he may have lived. Also. his words were treasonous, you think the Sultan didn't know how Mustafa truly felt?? As far as Ibrahim death " you have to understand Suleiman trusted ibrahim above all of his Pashas and Viziers. "To expose the truth about Ibrahim would've made the Sultan look weak for befriending Ibrahim a slave in the first place". I get what your saying though. But I always try to take into consideration the time and place when making assumptions. A modern mind wants to know the truth, an ancient mind knows questions the King would only cause heads to roll. The Supreme Ruler doesn't have to tell ANYONE why he has someone executed because it's his right!!! No one can question Sultan Suleiman.
Suleiman should have known better than let Ibrahim's death deepen the hatred and division within his family. Instead of showing clear evidence of Ibrahim's treason to Hatice and Mustafa, he chose to keep them in the dark because "I'm the sultan I can do whatever". Even an absolute ruler must know that the game of power has rules. He got too prideful and his dynasty paid for it.
Mustfa had many flaws because of his mother. He acted as a Sultan even though his position was not set in stone. By historical accounts, Mehmet was the favored one by the people. Mustfa was always breaking the rules and causing the Sultan to doubt him. Once Sulemon started to doubt Ibrahim, he also started to doubt Mustfa. With Ibrahim and Miri raising him know how they are, and with Mustfa break rules and defying Sulemon, it was just a matter of time before it was kill or be killed. It doesn't mean he liked it, but that is the history and tradition. It was thought of differently back then. He had too many people coveting his throne and power. Hurrem was willing to wait and die with him. She developed her own power and Mishama's as well through her charities and money. He knew what would happen if he gave the throne to Mustfa. They will kill all his children and grandchildren from Hurrem immediately whether Mustafa liked it or not.
We don't kill someone for being arrogant otherwise suleiman is worse as he described himself as the shadow of God on earth. Even our prophet didn't say such thing
Mahidevran was always jealous over Hurrem. She poisoned her son with this jealousy and it got him killed. Had she accepted her role in the family as she should have they couldve had a peaceful loving relationship. Yet she could not accept him choosing Hurrem over her and allowed it to control her every thought.
@TeosDiary I never said Hurrem was any different than Mahidevran but you have to admit that as a mother Hurrem chose the better path. If Mahidevran hadn't been so combative towards Hurrem, their household could have run much smoother. Hurrem tried her best to keep her kids out of her drama, whereas Mahidevran involved Mustafa almost immediately, even as a young boy.
Mahidevran acted very unwisely by going to Suleiman and asking for clarifications on his decision and then doing something she absolutely shouldnt have and that is blaming Hurrem. She only succeeded in downgrading her own and her son's position. Cant blame her though. She was a protective mother after all!
When you practice Machiavellian plots but aren’t quite smart enough to pull it off, you are Mahidevran. Had she listened and waited, she would have won. She got her power from her son. A prince. Hurrem got her power from the Sultan, not her sons. Mahidevran was a bitter spiteful creature. Understandably, harem life was not easy to survive.

Hatice and her sister got involved in something that got nothing to do with them I mean no one was going to take anything from them they were the sultan s sisters !! I don’t know why they decided to stress themselves with who was going to take the throne after suleiman especially that they were all their nephews .. they made enemies for themselves over nothing especially hatice 🤦♀️
The problem with Mustafa was that he fell for all their victim acts. He reacted with emotion and not thoughts which was his down fall. Also his ego that was built by Miri caused him to make decisions as if he was the sultan. It was no wonder that he was executed.
Mahi devil swearing on god abt mustafas loyalty. She shld have been executed for her murderous crimes or at least exiled permanently....probably,may be then,mustafa might have learnt something abt loyalty Since she was never punished for her crimes,unlike hurrem..mustafa took his father and also the throne for granted
The biggest mistake Suleyman made was not keeping Mustafa with him and making sure he no longer had any contacyt with his mother. Had it not been for Mahidrevan the kid would have been able to move up enough to fight it out with Selim and Bayazyde when they got to that point. The 4 women caused more distress and death and danger to their families than Suleiman ever did.

Syleiman, Hurrem and Rustem made sins, not Mahidevran tells lies. Hurrem and Rustem cheated with lies and Syleiman the stupid believed in those lies and that's the way that so many people lost their lives because of them three and why Hurrem won so many "battles". Mahidevran always has right. But we will always question the History and the science, because we are all rebels against the ones who wrote the History, we don't have the critical thought and we are just like that: we always question the others (sometimes, we even question each other and even ourselves).
