Around 1998, I was 21 and a couple of friends and I went to see Gob at the El Mocambo in Toronto. The El Mocambo is on Spadina. While we were waiting in line to get in, 4 young punks step off the streetcar and promptly walk right past everyone and they head straight inside. We were wondering, "who the hell are these little punks that they just walk right in?" It turns out they were the opening band, named Sum 41. They were unbelievable. I have been to a LOT of concerts and you could tell that they had practiced HARD. I remember they did the choreographed moves you see in this video. They also used a lot of flares like in the video. A few times they did choreographed moves with flares going off on their guitar headstocks. I was instantly a fan. I barely remember Gob from that night and that was the band I went to see.
