Early 2000s Sum 41 Skateboarding Playstation / N64 / Gamecube Skater shoes and baggy shorts Renting movies from Bluckbuster I actually had such a blast as a kid, I feel kinda bad for the younger generations
I am 13 years old now and I really love the Sum 41 band, I have a skateboard and I recently bought baggy shorts, but I am very sad that it is not 2001..
I have one memory of going to a blockbuster in 2009 as a toddler, I play melee now, and from time to time I like wearing baggy clothes because I think modern clothes is too tightly fit. The 2000s really haven’t gone away, at least not for me.
I'm from Russia. In the 2000s, we also skateboarded, listened to this kind of music and wore baggy jeans. We are just people, we love the whole world. I am 30 years old
You missed the 80s! But 90/00 is the LAST Gen to witness “normal “ bands that wrote their own stuff, made videos, sold CDs and went on tour etc. And you could fill in time renting movies and games from Blockbuster while you waited for a new album to drop. You are blessed
Remember my elder brother, about 15 years older, had this CD in his room with Sum 41 songs. I remember listening to it for the first time, and I don't think I could even read english at the time. Loved this song so much, and took me over 10 years to find it again.
The anticipation of these songs playing on TV on a countdown, and compelling us to be patient, is something I genuinely miss. Now we have everything at our disposal, but it feels hollow.
I was 10 years old, learning to skate, and my friend played me this song on his phone. This is the first punk rock song I've ever heard. Now I am 22 years old and I still love it
I'm 34 now, this came out I was a teenager I was already into and producing my own music but I still come back here when I'm drunk to remember the best part of my life. Yea life sucks ass now.
Anyone remember when you actually paid for music, artists had budgets for world class studios to stay in business, and because it took actual human talent to make music, only the really good music made it to the record stores and radio? Now artists need to sell their songs for endorsement deals and spend a ton of time touring to make a living. Unfortunately the music business has been in this trouble for years. See what Taylor Swift had to say about streaming services. Try to find a Garth Brooks song. David Crosby just recently had to sell his catalog. Watch the Sound City documentary. Compare the two worlds of then and now. It's a shame the way musicians, artists and studios are treated. Include the degradation of sound quality over the years, as digital music has become more and more compressed and simplified. So many people who have absolutely no business being in the music industry have been allowed to become stars, while hard working, talented musicians and instrumentalists and engineers, producers, technicians are all pushed aside.
@@goattheone6208 I agree! My comment was in support of real music, as opposed to anyone with the stage name "Lil" or "Soulja" for example lol. We live in the age of cheep sample tracks that wipe their ass across just about every genre nowadays. Real, really good music will not be found comming from major record labels anymore. The suits behind the streaming services sold out more than a decade ago, to these completely talentless, tone deaf morons with a drug habbit and a garage band beat. It's a shame, all that has happened to the music industry.
I’m 55, and was an 80s rocker etc. But this song “slaps “ hard, and the intro is hilarious. See? Us “senior citizens” can love skateboarding music too! 😁🤪🤣😂😎
***** I don't know if anyone's tried it out, but Pandora is a great app/website that helps find songs/bands with the same feeling as your favourites. I suggest checking it out if you haven't already :D
Can we take a moment to appreciate the lyrics? It really encapsulates the feeling of watching evil and lies infect the world and not knowing what to do about it. It was written in protest of the Iraq war, but it can be about anything. It’s non-specific in that way while having enough imagery and vicious frustration to feel genuine and applicable to every tragic or scandalous news story.
this is a pretty amazing song overall, first off it FUCKIN rocks and second, yeah, it's got good lyrics and the morals can be applied in many ways, while also the video addresses music trends, controlling producers, and much more lol. Really great work.
+Olalla __ I listen this 4 years ago... I'm still remember perfectly the lyrics. Should be more like. I listened to this 4 years ago... I still remember the lyrics, perfectly. But every single person who understands English knows exactly what you meant. So fuck the haters, who cares.
I'll never forget the Sonisphere performance they did where they were told the set would be half an hour longer than they got, so the sound guy started turning off all their amps and it was left with Derek screaming into the mic and thousands of people in the crowd singing all the guitar parts, it was incredible
Please stop with this same cliche crap, it's old man, and bitching about it don't bring it back, instead of whining over it, go and do something. Make a punk band, and start from there
