@@rilosvideos877 I forgot to mention earlier, but not only that, but they had access to the Rosetta Stone that had about 3 languages translated on it. One was Sumerian. Scientists knew the other languages as well (Like ancient Greek) So they were able to decipher it fully through that
@@eakbeagle7039 Yes, agree for the deciphering method. But the audio? Was it recorded on the rosetta stone as well? How can you really reverse engineer something if you don't have the key? Deciphering the meaning (semantics) is something else as phonetics.
@rilosvideos877 I understand that. The explanation is pretty lengthy but I'll provide an example of how it was done. Despite Sumerian being a language isolate, it's people who spoke it have had close contact with the Akkadians, whose language is semitic, so it's descendants are still alive today. So, languages like Akkadian, Hittite, and Ugaritic would give a brief glimpse at what Sumerian would sound like. However, it won't be 100% certain how it sounds. We only know how it sounds on a basic level.
@@blueshirt26 no iraqis are Muslim arabs. The Arabs invaded Mesopotamia in the 6th and 7th century ad. They genocided the locals and colonized the region. Once the centre of the world , Mesopotamia has been a shithole ever since Muslim Arabs took over. (Same happened wherever Muslims have gone).
