I'd replace the chainlink fence around the pool with a glass one, like your deck. You can see through it, but adds safety! In NZ, they have super strict rules about pool fences. You've got to pass an inspection to finish your consent process.
@@Bruhhhhhhhh510 in one of their past videos they said they don’t want to make this their forever home! they’re still young and want to move around before settling into one place.
I feel the same way but I also I think that a future owner will enjoy it and Appreciate it, I wish I can afford it to buy it. Since they remodel their first home and now this one, I believe is a great way to add value and one day get your forever home. Meanwhile, they are learning, creating memories and enjoying it, I love it and wish them the best.
For $250 maybe a little more you can top coat your concrete with cool Crete it is amazing we live near Myrtle beach South Carolina hotter then the devil here and the cool Crete does exactly what it saids it does not retain any heat what so ever trust me it’s so worth it ❤your place looks amazing I love the dark brown stain
Keep the fence around the pool. You'll never regret it. At best, change it to finding pretty. You need the fence. Edit: beautiful yard ♡ Extra that you guys did most of it yourselves.
Ok, that was sooo fun! I’ve been watching a lot of your videos, but never saw your whole yard like that and it is just so impressive! You’ve both done so much work, and it is just a magical little oasis back there! - - And that treehouse! Adorable! It’s obvious you really enjoy it all and that is just fantastic. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with all of us!
I'd recommend still having a fence around your pool as well as the fence around the yard ! It has better resale value because its safer for animals and children in the backyard.
@@clarissathompson I am pretty sure they live in Ontario, and from what I've seen around here you don't need the double fence (as long as there's one around your yard it's fine), but generally it's recommended to have both if you have the yard one (around the pool and the yard itself). But I don't own a pool, nor have I checked our legislation regarding this - this is just what my Grandparents said they followed re: their pool 90s - 2010s.
@@Mitters ya, it always depends on the Province, doesn’t it? I’m pretty sure that here in BC a fence is required around the pool area. Everywhere is a bit different.
@@clarissathompson No I mean, my original comment is to the video creators, based on my experience in Ontario, when I am fairly sure they *also* live in Ontario 😂 I am sure every Province is different, but that has nothing to do with what I am saying 😢. Also, imo, regardless of what the law says, 2 fences when it comes to a pool is safer. Say dogs/kids are in the backyard in the fenced in area, you don't need to worry about someone falling in the pool because that is *also* blocked off.
You've truly created the garden of my dreams, I absolutely love it. Your garden is seriously huge. How big is it exactly? How many acres is this garden? Can you provide some information so I can somewhat visualize it in my mind?
Wow!! Your garden looks magical!! You guys should be very proud!! I have been ill and am now getting better. You really inspire to do more home improvements!! Kudos to you both!!
Here's my prayers you heal and achieve your dreams. Speaking only for myself, "Everything I ever wanted was on the other side of fear." Have to remind myself of that a lot.
Wow, that’s such a beautiful backyard 😍😍 if I ever have a backyard house one day, I am going to come back to this video for inspiration 😁 so beautiful 😍
Excellent video as always! Until you figure out what you want to do with that extra set of deck space, looks like a pretty perfect place for a bags/cornhole set to play while you grill.
You are both so awesome! Your garden's look amazing--your backyard is fantastic. Don't beat yourselves up about not having everything absolutely perfect. It looks incredible to us whether it's completely finished or not. You are both such hard workers. It is refreshing to see people enjoying the great outdoors and enjoying nature, the birds and the bees.
Beautiful backyard and great work! A specific question, often see gazebo mounted on patio. But not often see a gazebo or pergola on a wood deck. how do you guys secure the footings onto deck boards? Worry about its stability against strong winds. Thanks
I absolutely looove your channel, and your tiktok! Can I please ask you how you keep your dogs out of your garden/how you keep your garden so nice with two dogs? Asking for a friend 😂😉
Love your garden and projects. Anybody who wants to share how to grow hydrangeas in Alberta I always do what the instructions say plus enough watering but still they seem to die in winter.
Will you guys leave the property when it’s done? I saw a video of you saying that you won’t be able to see the tree grow because you will not live here and that somebody else would? If it’s true then why so? Just a genuine question from a follower!
If you entertain a lot you might be best to keep the pool fence if you havent got rid of it already. Not only for the safety of kids and animals, but drunk people!
There is a product called Softcrete that we would love to replace the concrete with! It's a rubber surfacing product that's mixed with UV resin that is amazing around pools!
Still watching but I absolutely love your backyard! I would never go inside in the summer 😅 🤍🤍 We will be homeowners in the next couple of years and I will be using a bunch of your ideas if you don’t mind 🙏🏽🙏🏽🌸🌻🥀🌼🌺💐🌸🌹
I watch all ur videos, I don't even have a garden n have little boy with autism but the housing people don't care, any way point is uv done amazing, even if I had a big garden like urs I wouldn't have a clue.U have turned a no property in2 I DEFO YES PROPERTY, U GUYS HAVE DONE AMAZING WORK WITH THIS HOUSE AND CONSTANTLY ADDING VALUE ❤
Beautiful job. 👊👍👍🙌 Birds, critters might have eaten your sunflower seeds. Mint or wax myrtle trees will keep mosquitoes away. 😊 Do you plan to do a medical garden? Rosemary is easy to grow. I leave mine alone and it is hearty. You can make your own herb to cook with, tea, and rosemary oil. Plus, it makes a room smell nice in a vase. Keeps ants away. Had to put some sprigs in my mailbox one summer as ants were in our mailbox. Just a note; don't pick green beans after a rain. Don't eat the beans if brown spots. 😊 White pine trees make needle tea. Good source of Vit C. Stinging nettle and mullien plants make a healthy tea. Dandelion tea and Dandelion root tea as well. Cherry and pear trees are easy, hearty growers. Fig trees too. Rhubarb plant. Definitely grow some blueberries, blackberry and raspberries. 😋 Use the land to also feed you year long. Sweet Potatoe vine is pretty as an ornamental plant and sweet potatoes to grow to eat.... tastes phenomenal when grown yourself. The flavor bursts in your mouth. Plus, they have many vitamins & are a super food. 😊
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, the progress you guys have made in the videography and engaging editing is amazing and your renovations are incredible!!!
Please consider using river rock instead of mulch. It is beautiful It is a bit more than mulch but you never have to keep putting it in which is alot of work and you don’t have to keep buying mulch over and over. Think beautiful, smart, ‘lazy’ gardening such that even when you don’t have a ton of time your backyard will still look gorgeous with little work. Eventually, when you have a family your time will be precious so set yourself up for success in the future. Also, as you add gardens you don’t want to spend your time doing work in your gardens instead spend more time enjoying it.
Enjoyed your background. I noticed throughout your video you mentioned wanting to get rid of the fencing around your pool. In my mind I was thinking, this couple must do not have kids, yet. Towards the end you did clarify that. However, I hope that you rethink removing that fencing due to it is a safety measure to protect your younger guest as well as your future little blessings. Most people put as apart of basic baby proofing. Perhaps you guys might consider adding a gate on the other side to allow access without losing the protection factor.
Amazing! You could use your backyard for summer events. Bridal and baby showers, graduations and confirmations in May thru September . It would be a caterers dream. 👍👍👏👏👏
There certainly are a lot of really fun YT DIY home + garden videos from creators in Canada. I'm glad you guys are alright (while we Americans are downstairs in the meth flat living w unmanageability in our society at the moment.) I really like the attractive way you configured your string lights on the fence. For some reason, few get that particularly orderly look. How did you do it, please?
Your backyard is absolutely stunning, with lovely well planned thoughtful landscaping. You will be able to use different areas for different activities and celebrations. Although it's still a work in progress, you have done a great job 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
This is my dream yard! Stunning and perfect for the animals and for hosting. I want it! Hilarious coming from a girl that doesn’t have a green thumb. I used to joke about “planting” fake plants and then pulling them up in the winter so nobody would know. 😂
Absolutely amazing! If I had my life to live over, I would do exactly what you are doing! I’m getting older and tired. I try to make our yard beautiful. So inspiring.
Have you had the dirt in your garden checked to see if the dirt is what has been causing the plant to die or not growing. If you haven’t checked the soil you might want to bring in fresh healthy soil before planting next year. If healthy soil is hard to get then kill off everything naturally in garden. When the soil is defrosted from winter start breakup and turn over all the dirt and use start using several natural resources like cow manure and so many other great things to bring your soil to be able to grow a healthy garden. Yes, great RU-vid videos out there to help you with your garden soil.
Absolutely beautiful and definitely a lot of love. I really loved the path to the tree house. If i had a treehouse i would personally add lights leading to it because I love lights... lol. It is truly magical and charming. I can't wait to see what the secret garden ends up looking like once everything grows and blooms. ❤️ Great job, you guys did an awesome job!
