I know im randomly asking but does any of you know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my login password. I love any help you can give me.
I recently came across your channel and I love it!! You recommend so many other books that the majority booktubers don’t when it comes to YA. You have gained another subscriber and friend!! You are so sweet and thank you for great recommendations! 💕
Wooo! Thanks for the shout out! I'm excited to read that as well! I also go sent Nightmare and am looking forward to sleepless nights, as I am terrified of scarecrows. I literally thought ACOTAR was the Beauty and the Beast book but now I learn it's this OTHER double-noun title? This is too confusing. Discword is great. I actually directed the stage version of Mort back in college. It was bad, but I thought it was funny.
Oh man after watching Jeepers Creepers 2 I am afraid of scarecrows as well haha LOL ACOTAR is also a beauty and the beast retelling but a much looser one 😂
Wow! Lots of great books in this haul. With Elantris, you can definitely tell it's an early novel but the concept is so unique and there are so many great things in it.
I bought 20 books from amazon last month in preparation for a year long book ban! We are going through an economic collapse in Lebanon and books should be the last thing on my mind! But I needed to get as many books as possible as long as I can afford them! I don’t know when I’ll be able to buy books again and it is killing me! Enjoy your books! Book halls are my guilty pleasure these days!
The Aeronaut's Windlass is such a fun read! It is a great adventure with some fun characters. Jim Butcher's writing is very easy to digest quickly. Elantris starts off slower but it is very character driven and definitely worth a read.
Is the used bookstore you use able to ship out of state? I’m in Arizona and would love to order online at a good store. The selection seems vast and books look well kept! Thanks
I’m so excited you picked up the Aeronaut’s Windlass! I loved that book and I have been not so patiently waiting for the sequel since I read it in May of 2017 (I looked on goodreads). Just recently Butcher’s website was updated to say now that he is done with Peace Talks he would start working on the sequel to this “soon” which is the biggest update we have received in the last three years so fingers crossed.
Terry pratchett books just leave you feeling. . . .nice. i loved mort and i really hope you enjoy your first dive into discworld. If you have amazon prime theres a couple bbc terry pratchett adaptations also that just make your heart feel all warm and fuzzy.
Thank you so much for this video. The first two books, Nos4a2 and Nightmare, I have not heard about yet this year. I am really excited to get a copy of them! Thanks again for recommending books that are exactly what I love to read
Such a great haul! I’m so happy you’re joining in the royal readathon! I will say I think I like second era mistborn better than the first 😂 I still have to read Bands of Mourning so the jury is still out. Im 20% into Malice and I already ordered Valor it’s my type of book for sure. Queen of the Tearling is the best series I read last year!
I’m so excited for your readathon!!! It’s going to be a blast! 😱 Wow! Haha but that’s understandable, the second era is such a different tone and Wax and Wayne do have a pretty awesome friendship! Omg I can’t wait to see your thoughts on Malice, it just gets better and better! Yay for Queen of the Tearling!!! That’s amazing, now I’m even more excited to read it! 🥰
I love your channel! just found you and have been watching all your videos :) The priory of the orange tree looks really good! I spend too much money on books but I think i'm gonna have to pick that one up haha xx
Definitely go audio for world war z! And PRIORY!!!! My fav 🙌🏻 I’m so excited. I hope you love it! I got the ebook for Peace and Turmoil recently too. Excited to see what you think. Just read We are Legion this month, I think you’ll really like it.
Totally agree that the audio books are the way to go for the first law trilogy, I really enjoyed them so much more when I gave them a chance that way. Also very ready for your Witcher thoughts if only cause I think we probably have similar complaints but agreed that at this point I am invested and plan to continue the series.
I love Stephen Pacey as a narrator SO MUCH! He brings every character to life in a way that I just wouldn’t get physically reading so I’ll definitely listen to all of Abercrombie’s books because of him haha 😄 Oooh yes... Witcher... hmm let’s talk during my wrap-up video haha I have things to say 😂
Watching your video with Jurassic Park convinced me to finally read it. So glad I did I loved it and bought The Lost World. I feel like I also will be reading his entire back log of books. P.S. I also told myself I was done buying books for the rest of the year after I pre-ordered some. I just ordered 3 more books this morning. Limits on book buying just doesn't work for me hahaha
Yay!!! I’m so glad you loved it! It’s such a genius book! And totally agree on book buying limits, I don’t wanna set bans and make myself feel bad when I inevitably break them 🤣
Every time I say I am on a book buying ban, I end up buying more books lol so now I am on a budget not a ban! lol Nightmare sounds fantastic! I definitely can't wait to read that one myself as well! I have had Lies of Lock Lamora and Priory of the Orange Tree on my shelf for a while now and need to get to them both! I also can't wait to read Peace and Turmoil!
I love Priory of the Orange Tree. It took me 150 pages to get into it but I enjoyed it so much once I really got into it. I still have to read Cinderella is Dead. But it sounds amazing!
Well... with your discount I still spent $48 in bookmarks! But I only own two that I’ve had for years so it was time! Thank you for the recommendation!!
@@JessieMaeBooks Also I love Terry Pratchett, Discworld was for me what Harry Potter was for everyone else (I am not old, just happened that way lol). Also I am curious what you will say about Peace & Turmoil!
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on NOS4A2 and World War Z! I really enjoyed the movie but I'd like to see the ways in which the book is different :)
I started Sanderson with Mistborn and loved it! I also think Warbreaker is an amazing place to start to see if you like his writing style and characters! Way of Kings is usually harder to recommend as a starting place because it’s so humongous haha but if you like huge epic fantasies, it’s my favorite 😁
Was going to pick up at b&n today but will pu mistborn instead thx you and that’s why I asked as it is huge and scary looking but I really love big reads Great informative videos thx you have a great day
Great selection of books! I can relate, my wallet cries in a used book store. There is one book I didn't see in your Summer Book Haul that I was hoping to see, and that is Home Before Dark, by Riley Sager, you won't be disappointed with this thriller spooky read. :)
I saw that you put my second favorite series (Lies of Lock Lamora) next to my favorite (Name of the Wind) and reminded me - September dice role is coming up - Maybe Name of the Wind can get lucky this time?
loved the video!! 🥰🥰 i really want to read the lightbringer series, also the lies of locke lamora is great, the first half is a bit slow and takes a bit getting used to, but it’s great!!
Which book are you most excited to start up? I just finished 3 different series and now looking to start up a couple of books. Thank you for all the content!!!
@@JessieMaeBooks Thank you so much for replying!!! THIS just made my day! I can't believe you reply to all of us- so amazing! This is just another reason why I love your channel! Sorry really excited :)
Great haul! If you're not sure about the Witcher books, try them on audiobook. They're amazing!! The story does continue on into the games too. And I'm one of those people who loved Mistborn era 2. I found it so much fun and laughed loads! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the Cosmere too 🙂
Ooh good to know about the audiobooks 😄 I’ve heard the Witcher 3 game is unbelievable so I definitely want to check it out! I’m so glad you loved era 2!! Wax and Wayne are definitely the highlights of that series 😍 love their friendship but have just preferred era 1 😄
@@JessieMaeBooks the Witcher 3 is an incredible game! My favourite. I wanted to play it all over again when I finished it! I read the Witcher books physically then listened them almost straight away on audiobook. The narrator does a great job doing all of the different voices! x
for We Are Legion I'd recommend reading all 3 books back to back as 1 if you're in the mood. They really aren't structured as inidividual books, they just kinda end and the next one starts. Very unsatisfying if you only have the first one. That being said I liked those books a lot and am looking forward to readng more from the author.
Wow! What a haul! 😍 Seriously...have you got enough shelf space? 😅 Oooh I too recently purchased Locke Lamora but haven’t read it yet - I can’t read fast enough but I can purchase them quick enough it seems 😳 And those Gwynne books look amaaazing!! And thick! 😍 I’ve wanted to try The Blade Itself for a while now but...I know it’s Grimdark and I’m not sure if there are torture elements in it...😬 I don’t mind dark but I don’t like too dark 😕 I would really appreciate your opinion on this 🤗
Haha I definitely feel that! purchasing faster than we can read 😂 Hmm it’s tough because the blade itself does have some torture elements to it, but I personally don’t think it’s overly disturbing! However, I’m also not a visual reader so I can handle a lot more in books than I could with, say, movies if that makes sense! I would give it a try since I don’t think it’s too bad, but don’t be afraid to DNF if it’s too much!
Thank you so much for your honest thoughts - I really appreciate it! 😊 I will in all likelihood check it out as I have heard lots of positive things about it - I might just go in a little apprehensive though and take it from there! 😅
Hi Jessie Jim butcher books are fantastic the priority orange tree I’m buddy reading it with friends for august and September I’m so excited to hear your reviews on them
Lol, Poirot is hard to pronounce - if you search RU-vid for ITV Hercule Poirot they dramatized the whole series over several years, which is how I learnt to pronounce his name (Herc-yool PrOW-oh) ...I used to pronounce dry-ad as dr-aid and Sli-ther-in as sly-the-rin (as they are sneaky) until I heard other people talk about them!
Just finished The Murder of John Akroyd! My favorite Christie so far. Random question.... approximately how long each day do you spend reading? Do you ever have a day where you don’t? One thing I really appreciate about your channel and dialogue is that *you actually read the books!* 😂 Sounds silly (booktube and all....) but I’m surprised how many booktubers preface 90% of their videos with “well, I’m still in a reading slump.” 🤦🏼♀️
Ooo yay both Agatha Christie books I’ve read so far were 5 stars so I’m really excited to read the rest 😍 My goal is usually to read 100 pages a day but I also am able to listen to audiobooks throughout the day which helps 😄 during the weekends I’m able to read a lot more!
Nightmare was so good! I went with the e-book but I'm going to buy a hardcover copy as well because it's gorgeous. Such a good psychological thriller. World War Z I personally just could not get into at all. I couldn't stand the style it was told in, which is basically a bunch of back and forth interviews with people that survived the apocalypse. I just didn't like the structure of the book and yes it's TOTALLY different than the movie, which is essentially just an action movie. I'm excited to hear what you and Allen think about Peace and Turmoil! Happy you're continuing with Faithful and the Fallen because it's amazing. Couldn't stand Elantris, it was soooooo boring.
Yay!!! I’m so excited to read it! Oooh interesting, I like non traditional formats like that and it sounds like the audio may be better for it! Can’t wait for the rest of faithful and the fallen!
The Faithful and the Fallen is a very good series. I also believe Malice was the “weakest” of the four books, almost entirely because it takes a while to get to know all the characters and points of view. I will say it is not the best series for those who are sensitive to animal deaths.
