@@S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-Strelok I mean who cares, goat sim isn’t exactly a game of the year game. It’s schlock, and they know it. So why not steal some epic games money in the process and ripping on Dead Island 2 for their shitty excuse of a sequel that never came.
@@S.T.A.L.K.E.R.-Strelok Dunno i'm buying a lot on EGS. I have no problem whatsoever if Chinese government learns about my boring life. Like it or not lot of people actually does. So IDK how releasing it on EGS would kill it. If you want keep being the sheep you are let other herd you right into the hate wagon and ride the hate train. I'm way above petty stuff like that.
Even if there was another remake of skyrim they wouldn't show it here since they are a part of the xbox/bethesda showcase thats likely where they would preview it first. But hey its about time Fallout 3 or New Vegas got a remaster lol
Wait, everyone was disappointed? The previous Sony showcase and this one have been some of the most (at least personally) interesting game related stuff I've seen in a while
The Rock promoting his energy drink and new movie, shirtless from the gym, recorded in 720p, just because he was in Fortnite. That was a mental flashbang.
Every time this man says bing chilling my smile grows wider. Best thing I saw from gamesfest was a release date for Shredders revenge and the reveal of Casey Jones. Also excited for Neon White. And if I’m being honest the Guile reveal was dope.
HOLY SHIT, BRO! I remember seeing Routine on Steam Greenlight like AGES ago. Everybody was hyped for it, then the development updates stopped and I legitimately thought the game was dead! This is the best news is gaming for me personally in a long time, man.
I remember going to my friend's house to watch him play The Last Of Us on his PS because I didn't own a console, so this is great news, TLOU with graphics of part 2 on PC
I love how Ranton is my fav game channel, we both been gaming a long time.. and we have completely different tastes / takes on this stuff. I thought this Summer Games fest was awful, but if you combined the Sony State of Play and tomorrow's Xbox presentation into this for 1 E3 style, it would've been great ... Also, Last of Us is not a remake it's just a new remaster for the next gen. they are trying their hardest to ruin the established remaster / remake understanding we have..
Well kind of, they recycle some animations but do a remake in the style of shadow of the Colossus where it's supposed to feel just like the original, no massive changes (other than ai and some combat) but now in a whole different engine from the ground up so it feels more in line with part 2 instead of feeling really dated by comparison
It was remade in TLOU2's engine and has TLOU2's gameplay now (e.g. it's confirmed to have TLOU2's AI) and they added more exploration which implies that they've made changes to the levels. Maybe you weren't aware of these details but it's not a remaster. Nobody debated that the SOTC and Demon's Souls remakes were remakes when the gameplay was identical, but here they've replaced the gameplay with a game 7 years later ... and it's a remaster. Sigh.
@@idakev Thanks for the info Kevin. I thought it was the exact same game with updated graphics and AI. I was thrown off when they said didn't use any new voice acting and instead just enhanced the sound quality. Adding to the level design is exciting. SOTC and Demon's Souls were made by an entirely different studio, from the ground up, and Demon's Souls did alter a lot of design stuff. SOTC is a prob the best example of blurring the lines though, bc it is nearly the exact same game from '05, but with updated graphics (The jump from 2005-2018 was far greater than 2013-2022 imo) and controls that also had a remaster in between.
@@fl1490 it was sure af not hype. Some shitty concept art is fucking nothing and the "remake" of TLOU1 is one of the dumbest shit i've seen in the gaming industry.
Remaking Jak & Daxter who came out in 2001 or Uncharted 1 that came out in 2007?: Nah Remaking Last of Us that was released in 2013 and who has a Remaster for modern consoles that people still play: *REAL SHIT*
@@fyrijou5202 for real tho, neil seems to have no fucking idea what to do so he remakes a masterpiece into literal shit, nice one, neil "i sniff my own farts" drunkmann.
@@foulXD *Why do you guys always make up fake drama about Druckmann?* It's well known that he didn't propose this remake and isn't directing it. A Sony support studio *(Visual Arts Service Group)* proposed the idea of a PS remake to Sony because they wanted to expand beyond support work. Uncharted 1 and backwards were discussed as options but would have required too much of a overhaul, so they agreed on TLOU because it was more modern and easier to remake for a smaller team. Hermen Hulst was unimpressed with it and at some point after TLOU2 launched, they made NaughtyDog the lead developers to get it finished. If you lads need fake drama more than you need video-games, you'd probably be better off watching Love Island or Keeping Up With The Kardashians. lol
If there is a Dead island trailer you can expect a Goat simulator Parody version, they did the Same to first dead island CG trailer. this is not even the third game it's actually the sequel to the first one.
@@fyrijou5202 not necessarily actually. Hugo Martin (director of doom 2016 and eternal) stated that doom could return sooner than you'd expect in iirc one of nightmare playthrough streams he did. Although it probably won't be their next game and neither will it be wolfenstien. He hinted to be something new/different.
@@bruhder5854 i don’t know man. Eternal‘s DLC ending felt very concluding and with Wonfenstein New Blood mentioning „New Dimensions“ i think Wolfenstein needs to do the first move to give Doom a reason to come back
Really cool event, the TLOU Remake was...okay I guess. I just hope they keep some elements of the first game's combat, I don't like how in TLOU2 you can infinitely dodge the attack of the runners and simply punch them to death, after you get good at it they become a joke basically. Edit: I played the game on Normal the first time, and then on Survivor the second time. The runners are the most common infected and I just think they are way easier and less terrifying in TLOU2. Not to mention that the game fills you with ammo on Normal.
Was it a joke on the harder settings? In Survival and specially Grounded it’s really hard to reliably dodge and hit one enemy let around a group coming at you.
@@Indigo_1001 yes it was. The game is bad. Even in harder difficulty it's the same shit. Idk how y'all think it's hard. Game is boring as hell and every fight is the same. No creativity, no good puzzles like the first game, and a downgraded combat system. But hey spend 70 dollars on a game that's going to be released for a third time 🤡
I want to punch the guy in the neck for telling Calisto Protocol a rip off of dead space, THEY WERE LITERALY THE ONE MADE DEAD SPACE! how can someone rip off their own work...
Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Ratchet & Clank are thriving with their new Reboots and it pleases both old and new fans. Meanwhile Naughty Dog, or rather Vice President Neil Drunkman, is so deadset focused on LoU that he forgets that ND also still owns Jak & Daxter who could really benefit from a Reboot too or at least a Remake for Uncharted 1. But nah, he needs to give the LoU the „definitive experience“ because he is still bitter about LoU2...
Is it true about this LOU remake actually use the budget that was supposed to make Days Gone 2? Sony don't want Days Gone sequel, so the budget all go this...well a remastered of a remastered game
No. It's well known that Druckmann didn't propose this remake and isn't directing it. @@kostasspirou1010 yeah I can agree with that it was alright but I definitely didn’t see anything I liked other then the last of us remake and Modern Warfare 2 because I’m interested to see the new Warzone that comes with it but other then that it was pretty bland but if Ranton liked it he’s untitled to his opinion I was only joking
TLOU2 was actually good, deal with it. And this is coming from someone who used to hate the story for the first few months and then changed their mind when I started paying attention
Ok that Calisto Protocol is made by the Dead Space creator? if it is true then i understand this is more like a finger in the ass to all and i like it. What Dead Space would like.
I think film adaptations of video games can be good, they just have to add to the franchise. And also, sometimes you don't want that layer of interactivity, there's a reason why we have cinematic trailers and gameplay trailers, cinematic trailers always show the coolest idealised shit of how the developers want you to imagine the world, once you have to put players AI and code into it bye bye immersion. Sure you can interact with it, but if the enemy AI is dumbfuck you'd wish all the goons were just animated and therefore actually feel real.
Alot of dorkezoids out there do not seem to understand that the gameplay itself in TLOU remake is being built to the level of TLOU2, and instead think that this is just gonna be a graphics upgrade. If I was Naughty Dog I would've showcased the mechanics changes in the trailer as that's the main selling point for this remake in my opinion
I wish they would just let one player play as ellie in TLOU P1, they could do so much with it. That is literally a possibility to make a proper horror zombie game and a zombie shooter game in one fucking game, just by varying the experience between playing as an experienced at survival in a post apocalyptic world badass and a 12 girl. Like c'mon, do u not see the potential?
@@MontChevalier Get over it already. He died in the best way for story purposes. His pathetic death has no meaning and no cinematic badass moments. We get a glimpse of the Joel we knew when he tells Abby to get it over with. But it's important for him to be robbed of that last John Marston last stand to propel Ellie on her path of vengeance.
I couldn't disagree more with Ranton on his prefering of Last of Us 2 to the original, like that is such a terrible take and same with Last of Us Remake, like why would i pay full price for the exact same game that will probably have no design deviations from the original. Still agree with most thing tho tbf
@@italianwaffle5592 I understand that and i'm sure the combat will be better but $60 is a little too much for that. It feels like a unnecessary remake too considering that the first game isn't like super old or outdated and is still a playable modern third person shooter.
@@hushthecipher We’ll have to see. Remember, it IS a remake, not a remaster, they’re remaking everything from scratch, essentially, bar the voice acting and mocap probably. If they’re not stupid, I gather there’ll be a ton of worth in this remake. Did you play Resident Evil 2: Remake?
agreed. Just based on the calibre of directors, the writers, and the showrunner AND the fact that it is an HBO show.... it will easily probably be the best video game adaptation. And it has a genuine chance of being actually great, and not just "good for a video game adaptation"
How does Ranton call the gaming industry on their very mediocre gameplay they put out like Borderlands 3, but then acts like crouching in a video game is the most next gen thing ever. Like the gameplay of TLOU1 is like a 5/10 and TLOU2 is 5.1/10. TLOU1 was already has outdated gameplay the day it come out, and TLOU2 is even more outdated because it came 7 years after the original which was outdated 7 years ago. He said the same thing for Borderlands 3 but TLOU2 gets a pass for some reason.
Nahh man, TLOU 1's gameplay was a solid 6 for me and TLOU 2 was a 7 to an 8. I didn't go crazy over the gameplay as much as other people but it was clearly improved in many factors compared to the first. But you do make a good point with his Borderlands 3 review tho
Bruh you SO didn’t play TLoU2, wtf are you talking about. TLoU2 wasn’t just a huge improvement from the first game, but it’s easily ONE OF the best stealth action gameplay of last gen. You have yo be insane to say that the gameplay is “dated” when most other third person action stealth shooter aren’t nearly as good
@@RealRanton If I remember correctly you kinda shitted on the story and called the writing amateurish. Most people definitely love tlou for the story.
Besides The Callisto Protocol, Routine & Witchfire the rest was meh, Last of Us already got a remaster recently, if there was a game that didn't need a remake at all it's TLOU, there are dozens of other games out there that could use a remake, this isn't one of them, not much to get excited about really IMO.
The remastered from 2014 was a fps and resolution boost. The texture and visuals were pretty much the same. By those standards did Days Gone got a “remastered” when they updated the game fps, resolution and added HDR on a update?
@@Skitz0frenix Spare this condescending nonsense please, I can tell the difference very well, what I'm saying is that the TLOU remaster already looks and plays great, what's the point of the remake!!!!?, what's next, releasing games then remaking them two years later, it's getting really ridiculous, all they had to do is just release TLOU remaster on PC and release an updated Hi-res textures pack (something modders did already for a lot of old games on PC), that's it. Also, "By those standards did Days Gone got a “remastered” when they updated the game fps, resolution and added HDR on a update?" ... yes .. that's exactly what a remaster IS ... updates resolution, frame-rate, a performance boost, and minor changes to textures here and there by adding higher res textures, that's precisely what a REMASTER is ... Dark Souls games got remastered because they were quite recent (with better resolution and framerate and a PC version), Demon's Souls (2009) got completely remade because it's a really old game that never got a remaster and could use a remake to make on par with the rest of the souls games, that's the difference. I understand if they wanted to remake say Uncharted 1 (2007), it quite an old game and not a lot of people can play it now, but to remake TLOU is just a lazy cash grab and silly attempt to signal boost the TV show (which will probably be subpar judging by the writing in TLOU2), nothing more and nothing less, it's just sad people are willing to encourage that sort of behavior, sigh.
