A big issue with the acolyte is having it revolve around a relationship between two twins being played by one actor. Performance and script aside, that relationship is fundamentally undermined when you basically ensure there will be no chemistry there when it’s one actor playing two parts. Like right off the bat you just shot yourself in the foot.

For the dual actor aspect to work remotely, you need a competent actor as well, of which Amandla is not.
