The osprey exos is my go-to summer hiking pack, It gets bloody hot here in Australia, and it's the best pack for hiking in heat that makes Brits cry. Sorry Brits we still love ya.

Nice video of your load out there Karl, it’s worth mentioning that the temperatures you mentioned are Celsius not Fahrenheit. Atb Darren

Hi, thanks for showing your Summer kit. What's the watch you use for hiking? I saw you were using one on the Cumbria Way? ATB Mark.

Hi Mark thanks for watching my video, it's the Garmin Fenix 6 pro, I plot my routes on OS maps and then send to the watch as a gpx file. I’ve had it a couple of years now and would be lost without it, literally😆 There is a newer version out now the Fenix 7 which I believe is touch screen. Hope this helps, ATB Karl 👍

I like your style of presenting and thoroughly enjoy your content. This video was no exception but I would just say that it might be better to keep the whistle to hand, round the neck on a snap cord or on the chest strap of the pack.If you're injured you may not be able to retrieve the whistle from your pack. Lots of walkers now carry the SOS devices but I'll stick with the whistle. It's very considerate of you carrying the emergency shelter with others in mind.Years ago walking magazines sometimes had a free survival bag attached and the advice was to always carry one but you don't hear mention of them any more. I am subscribed but it doesn't show. Thanks for your interesting content Karl.

Thank you for watching and the kind comments I genuinely appreciate it. Yes you’re right about the whistle, it should be more to hand. I used to have it clipped to the shoulder strap of the rucksack but it’s ended up on the string of the emergency bivvy for some reason. I’ve always carried a first aid kit and emergency bivvy you just never know, and could save yours or someone else’s life, or at least be more comfortable until help arrives. Hopefully my videos are getting better, editing, content and talking to camera wise. I’m still new to RU-vid and it’s been a steep learning curve, but I’m enjoying it and comments like yours make it worth while so thank you 🙏 atb Karl
