Let me know in the comments one of your summer goals for 2022! (Also if you watched most of the video I asked for some advice at one point. Leave one piece of advice in the comments too!)

To start with Outschool. I haven't submitted my video yet. Haven't even made it yet. It's a bit intimidating not knowing parents' and students' expectations.

I have been taking weekends off for almost a year now and It’s glorious. Of course, it may not be for everyone, but I cherish my weekends so much. I like working decently short days, but this summer has stretched my hours due to requests of former students funneling from my year long class. I do have some longer breaks, so it’s not completely hectic. Basically, I like working 5 days and having 2 full days off. I work about 17 hours during the week on screen and prep about 3 hours. This prep time does include TpT sometimes. But right now I’m transitioning to my summer schedule and creating new class products, so the prep time right now is strictly Outschool prep.

Thanks for sharing! I’m really thinking about trying to take weekends off completely from teaching 😅 Do you prefer teaching longer days or shorter days? And how many classes have you found to be your sweet spot to teach a day?

@@teachwithalejandra I prefer shorter days. Like 3-4 hours. My classes range from 20-30 minutes. I don’t know if I have a sweet number of classes. I used to teach 14 in a row with VIPKID lol, so my stamina is pretty high. But I do enjoy getting them all out of the way decently quick. So, I guess I could say teaching about 4 hours and maybe like 7 classes im would be a good day. But! Like I said, due to requests of my students my Tuesdays and Wednesdays have some breaks, but my classes spread from 4:30am all the way to 5pm. (Insert death face emoji). I enjoy all the classes and my students are wonderful, but that was definitely not my plan lol! But my other 3 days are decently light with maybe 4 classes in the morning.

Makes sense! I also used to teach 14-18 classes with VIPKid which I loved doing. I preferred longer days with VIPKid but I’m not sure how much I love my long days with Outschool. Thanks for sharing your incite! ❤️

I think it’s hard to schedule classes because some of them may not get many enrollments or ANY enrollments. Then I’d want to cancel those and try something else. I’m always shuffling so it’s hard to really plan. I’ll give you the same advice a friend gave me; take the weekends off and refresh yourself. I am so glad I quit teaching on weekends. Once in a while I may schedule a nutrition class if it’s requested. I usually teach M-Th about 7-8 classes if I get the enrollments. I would teach all day on Fridays but haven’t really gotten those enrollments. Not sure if it’s because of my niche. My schedule for summer has been a lot slower since grammar isn’t a popular summer class, but I enjoy the time to work on new classes. I would love to make $3500 per month but now am only around $2000.

Thank you for sharing all this ❤️ I agree, I may struggle booking classes out because sometimes they don’t get booked. How far out do you usually plan your schedule?

I only plan about a month out. I find that most of my parents schedule about one - two weeks out, and many times I get enrollments hours or even minutes before classes start, so it hasn’t seemed necessary to plan out a whole semester.

Do you have an updated video on how to teach for/join Outschool?
