Qaqortoq is a town in southern Greenland, set within a system of fjords.
With a population of 3,050 in 2020, it is the most populous town and the municipal capital in southern Greenland and the fourth or fifth-largest town on the island.
The town center is home to 18th-century colonial buildings and a landmark fountain. Qaqortoq Museum features displays about Greenlandic culture. From Lake Tasersuaq, trails lead through rugged mountains to the old Norse settlement of Igaliku. To the southeast, the hot springs at Uunartoq sit beside a bay dotted with icebergs.

There is even more and larger trees in Narsarsuaq near the airport.

I hadn't realize that Qaqortoq was that large of a town, I love all the wild flowers in the town, I love the mural on the house and I loved that you drove around to let us see the town! Thank you for that!!

Beautiful landscapes and well designed towns...there is a feeling of prosperity 23:43 and possibilities!!...I only wish that canadian arctic towns and villages had the same professional look and feel. Perhaps the canadian government can visit Greenland and get some positive ideas about urban planning in arctic locations. The cheerful coloured houses are delightful...like towns and hamlets in Denmark........Never did I see above ground sewer pipes running across the towns and villages in Greenland, but I did see them in the videos of the canadian....come on canadian government,,,,step up and give our indigenous people at lest the same level of care that Denmark gives to the people of Greenland.😮

Qaqortoq looks like a pleasant town. The south of Greenland really is green especially this area. I noticed that there appears to be no advertising around the town and even buildings that might be buisiness or government buildings don't seem to have signs on them. Can someone familiar with the area comment on this?

There are signs and letterings on the buildings, but they are probably not illuminated, if that is what you mean?

Winter has begun in your neighbour Australia and soon the mountains in northern Victoria and southern New South Wales will have enough snow for skiing inshaallah.
