the first cool place you were at is still called sverdrups byen. and the glacier you showed us is lars breen . nice to se the old taubane stasjonen .i used to heng around there when i vas kid. also we used to go upp to the old mine close to the school .

I was wondering whether coming to Svalbard for a couple of months and do my freelance location-independent work from there made sense. This video gave some (positive) answers… So I won’t be stuck inside a B&B fearing polar bears roaming the streets, after all? A video about possible multi-day boat trips would be great. Trips to see wildlife - walruses! - or more remote photo locations.

So interesting! I have an idea for your Christmas wreaths next year. You can collect long grass in bunches then attach them in a circle onto a roll of wire. Maybe they'd make good gifts too. You could even put dried orange slices, cinnamon sticks or other decorations on them!

Where is your jacket/fleece from? It looks like a perfect layering piece. Its so helpful when you talk about what you wear. We live in the sub arctic....not AS COLD! But always on the hunt for quality and long lasting clothing.

At first I was like what is she talking about (I thought maybe COOL bc the temp🥶) then I understood 😆 I probably would sound exactly the same when talking to the camera explaining a place saying COOL a million times 😂 Sometimes I talk to myself and pretend like im talking to people as such then i'm like I sound sound so goofy .. anyways It was a nice video some COOL places to see for sure 🏔🏔

Hey, just got into your chanel and I'm already loving it. Can I ask you some questions? In anticipation I'm sorry for my English, not my mother tongue. So, what language does people around there speak? Is it english or norwegian? How did you move it to there and how is job market around? I'm still young, and definitely there's a really long way till there, but my impossible dream (that thing you dream while walking to somewhere) is to live there, and have a job there, and spend the rest of my life in a isolated place like that, although I'm probably never going to make it. Anyway, sorry for the disturb, GREAT videos

Cecilia your videos of Svalbard are amazing . I see some posts on Insta as well . I will be visiting Svalbard in Aug. unfortunately I have 3 -4 hrs to see Longyearbyen . My ship arrives between 8-9 am and my flight is at 2.55 pm. So could you please suggest me an itinerary in 3-3.5 hrs . I would like to see the church , seed vault , one of the museums and the post office . I am not insisting on visiting all of these but would be nice to see them all . Please suggest me what to do as you know the place very well. Thank you. Pradeep

It looks like the village was built on a former glacier outlet? Are they worried about increased water coming down because of the systemic warming? Also, where does the drinking water in the town come from? Is it the glacier lake you’re standing over? Tack!

Well you do know with all your followers if people are able to come visit your village they are also going to want to meet you and your puppy dog.

Hi Cecilia, nice videos from Longyearbyen and surroundings. But I thought the place you are sitting at the start of the video is outside the "safe" zone? Isn't there a "border line" just outside "Huset" ?

I see cranes and construction equipment and you said there is lots of construction. Is it mostly due to tourism or industry or both? Is your population growing? Is the population mostly from Norway or multinational?
