Bloody hell mate you had me chocked up talking about your dad what an emotional roller-coaster 🎢 My mum n dad are 76 and I'm 48 we still fish the severn regularly and if having a good day everyone knows about it 😂
Thanks Dave, i did hint you made a video on barbel on the lugg a while ago, on your opening day video, and it seems you have done so.... ironically i fished some of these same swims on the first day of the season. No barbel for me, but a few good chub... cheers 👍👍
Beautiful fish dave. Especially the barbel. I'm a member of h.d.a.a. for the last 2 years but have only fished the lugg twice at wergins Bridge where I caught 2 small chub and lugg mill but blanked. Any areas you could give me pls to get more fish?
Thanks Neil. This was Lugg mill downstream. Plenty to go at and the further you walk, the more you find. I haven’t fished wergins for some time, but need to get up there soon.👍
I’m watching this after fishing that exact same swim as your first one yesterday! First time ever on the lugg can’t wait to go back! Some excellent pointers to take back with me
Fantastic days fishing. There's nothing better than catching hard fighting wild fish on a very wild small river. Well done landing that perfect little Barbel too. 💪🏻 Its also nice that you shared your memories on that peg, and know that it will always be there for a fish or two.
That was wonderful Dave and really inspirational stuff. The Lugg is so reminiscent of the rivers Colne and Blackwater of my past and also fishing as a kid with my old chap. Time to try the Lugg.
Loverly video Dave, me and a friend was only fishing some of those swims today, was hoping for a barbel but some beautiful chub instead, loverly watch that was, thank you
Thanks Ben. I think the barbel are tricky simply because they have so much cover now. What I have noticed though is that there very little otter activity in that area. I don’t think hunting in the jungle suits them, but the fish are in great condition. 👍
@@anglingescapadeswithdavero2363 morning Dave, thank you for your reply, we’ve tried for 2 seasons now to try and catch a lugg barbel, watching your great video has given us a few extra tools to use so 🤞. Hahaha, that’s very true, they just find it hard work so they move on! Had my first few grayling on the fly over the last couple of weeks just upstream but main goal is a barbel from the lugg now 👍. Keep the videos coming and take care
A very enjoyable video Dave and some cracking fish, well done! My mate Alan and I walked some stretches of the Lugg last season but have yet to fish it. We will have to give it a try.
