One of my favorite summertime meals is a big spring-mix salad with a light vinaigrette dressing, a mound of shredded bbq brisket on top of that, and a small scoop of cole slaw on top of that. Heaven!
It's 27 degrees in Yorkshire and I'm gunna fire up the bbq. Tandoori pork steaks, lamb kofta, bbq chicken wings and lemon and herb chicken. Nooooice indeed 😊😊😊😊
Chef John your recipes never fail to impress me. I’ve been enjoying your content for years, though more frequently out of the kitchen than in it. I often play the audio from your videos while I skateboard around Manhattan. The tone of your content has both a relaxed feel and an upbeat tempo. I am very much looking forward to what comes next. Thank you for making the blocks feel shorter✌🏼
I'm making this for the second time to eat this week. It's been really amazing to take to work with some jasmine rice. Hearty, but not heavy and unappealing after working in this heat. Thank you for a wonderful recipe that will be staying on my rotation!
I love the name of this dish! I've definitely made similar dishes off the top of my head before and I can say that I am certain this would be excellent.
We made this tonight. Substituted some rotisserie chicken for the pork, and added a little apple cider vinegar to the mix, and it was awesome. The wife was very impressed. Thanks!
I made this. The pork took me 9 hours and the slaw prep etc another hour. It is so freaking good! I substituted apple cider vinegar for rice vinegar but stayed true to everything else. Homerun!
I love this dish. You can make it without the meat, and add it on many things like rice, beans, a sandwich. I love to put a BUNCH of black pepper to where it almost blackens up and cook it all with some olive oil. Adding paprika on top also gives it a nice taste.
I have no interest in "meat slaw," but I do like the concept of cooked slaw. One of my favorite ways to eat red cabbage is to shred it and cook it with spices and a bit of apple cider vinegar, and I generally eat it over rice. This post inspires me to up my game.
This sounds great. For a twist, I’m thinking about putting in some Carolina vinegary bbq sauce instead of rice vinegar for more flavor since it already has the pulled pork 🔥🔥🔥
Meat Slaw, strange name, lol, can't say I wouldn't have passed that up, but because it's you John I'm thinking, let's take a look see. I might just give this one a try. Thanks for the recipe👍❤️!
How do chefs practice the flip? Because I have seen several chefs flat pan flips that take a degree of strength and skill. I know that flipping in a wok is easy.
As someone with the dreaded cilantro gene, how good would you say this might be sans cilantro? Looks pretty yummy but I thought I'd ask before trying to make it!
So, Chef John, who I greatly admire, enjoy and wish I could repeat every recipe, do you have a secret fridge which keeps many semi-used ingredients fresh???? What's the premium way to keep fresh food fresh? Is there a "poster" ?a website? a resource book? which tells "us minions" how to keep for a few days, a specific ingredient before freezing?
