You are giving your children such a gift! A very present mother who creates a beautiful and thoughtful home with structure and routine!! They will thrive and be blessed by the work of your hands. Mine are almost all grown and I miss the days of blanket forts and leisurely breakfasts. Let them be kids as long as you can. ❤️

Agreed! I feel like kids have most of the rest of their lives when they'll have to do housework e.t.c. and to just be able to fully be a child in all its glory is such a gift! There won't be another time for forts and imagination, this is it!

I was always perplexed when other moms would tell me they dreaded having the kids home for the summer. I loved our days of relaxed routines and impromptu adventures. Now they are 20 and 12. Time flies so enjoy them while you can.

I love it when you do these kinds of videos!!! I get what you're saying. If you get up and do things in your routine each day, you usually have a good day, but if you miss that, the whole day seems off-kilter. The cinnamon rolls and bagels look delicious!!! Freezing them is a great idea I hope it works well.

I am french and opening the window and making the bed every morning have been parts of my traditions.We actually pull the sheets out and leave them on the window sill . As for the bagels ,i never put baking soda in the boiling water and they turn out great too.

Lol, I am the same way! My kids keep asking if their chore can be washing dishes and I keep saying, "But that's mommy's favorite chore!" :) :) It really is. I love cleaning up the kitchen too! :)

Our yard was the place to be in Summer and although not really structured we had days for the park..library and such. They had plays and water fun and of course snacks and probably once a week a Bible story..used a felt board which was popular. What wonderful memories and they liked having me around. Enjoy!!!

The cinnamon rolls look delicious! I’ve been berry picking for many years. For strawberries that I don’t intend to freeze, I wash them only as I use them. I found out by accident that if I put them in my rectangular Rubbermaid container and store it upside down (lid side down) in the fridge, they last much longer. I do wash and hull strawberries that I intend to freeze, lay them on an old bath towel to dry, then put on a wax paper lined cookie sheet in the freezer for 2 hours. Finally, I place the frozen berries in a freezer bag and squeeze as much of the air out as I can before sealing. They last close to a year in the freezer.

You amaze me at how you can take the time to exercise, drink your water and shower and make yourself pretty before breakfast!!!!! I sure feel like an underachiever for sure. I like the spice coffee , but find the cinnamon at the bottom of the cup. I do have a separate shaker that I make the ginger, turmeric cinnamon blend up ahead of time. That way I can just either spoon in or sprinkle into my coffee from one container. Bagels seem intimidating.. but you make it look so easy.

I have had a morning routine for many years. Making my bed after it has aired out for a little while * while the shower is warming up) keeps it fresh. I have to have a clean kitchen and living room before bed every night. For me, having routines, especially at night and in the morning sets me up for whatever the day has to offer. I get ready every day with my shower, makeup and hair, dressing and jewelry. Then coffee with almond flavoring. 🥰💐🪷🌼🌞💗✝💖🇺🇲

Hilary, your content inspires me in every way! I usually work summer school but this year i decided to not and spend quality time with Jesus and taking care of myself. My husband and I are educators so there are times when I felt overwhelmed and stressed, since it was my first year…. Please keep me in prayer since I have a desire to be a mother. ❤

To have your berries last longer, put a piece of paper towel on the bottom of the jar, then the berries not washed and top with another piece of paper towel. Wash the berries as you use them. This way they last for a longer time as they are not damp at all in the jar.

You remind me soo much of my mom. We are of the same age but you remind me of how my mom works the house round the clock. Now that im an adult, im like her too, except that I also work outside the home and I've no kids. My brothers and I grew up helping and watching mom do the housemaking and to a certain extent, we kinda feel we wish our spouses did the same. My younger brother is always complaining how he wishes his wife was more like mom 😅.

Whatever works! During the school year it's a bit more grab and go with the kids some days. Personally breakfast is my favorite meal of the day so I thoroughly enjoy the slower routine :)

I see so many RU-vidrs explain why their kids are not helping them clean. I don’t know why people are so hung up on make your kids do xyz. My kids help clean their rooms, pick up dishes and any messes they make during the day. But that’s it I don’t have chores, I don’t make them do dishes, nothing kids are only kids for such a short time let them be. They are not going to turn out lazy or unproductive people of society. My mom did this with my brother and I and I’m so glad she did. I didn’t have to dread a chore list and guess what I’m highly productive, I own my own business and I’m a clean freak. My brother is the same and is a boss at his company. I get the whole have them help so moms aren’t doing it all but let’s give them less. That’s my thought and I know it’s an unpopular one. I’m not saying anything bad about you Hilary just that it’s ok to not have your kids help and do it the way you want for certain things, I’m just sad you have to explain it or people come after you.

I really need to try sour dough starter but it scares me and sounds a bit confusing to keep. I really want to try to make all the breads, bagels etc. thanks for sharing and enjoy your summer break 😊. Our students aren’t done school until June 30th, which feels late this year.
