We are currently doing a landscaping project at our house. And I can’t wait for the finished look. When you mentioned about your kids helping you it reminds me of our youngest. He will be the first one to ask if we are gonna “work” today while putting his boots on and grabbing his little shovel.

Watching for the first time!! I couldn't agree with you more when you said that you should encourage your children in helping out with chores! DEFINITELY! I am from the Caribbean and it's normal for children to help do chores around the house, but when we view some of these videos from the states,adults like cleaning around the kids!!! Lol You are doing a great job 👏

Looks so fresh & inviting. I use lots of crumpled up newspaper in the bottom of super large planters, then dirt over it, help cut down amount of soil needed & naturally decomposes! Help lighten the load when moving them too😊

Your are right about having your kids be involved with the work around your house. We had our daughter help us when she was growing up. She is now 31 married and has a house of her own. She knows how to take care of her house now. She even has to tell her husband how to do things! Great job!

The front porch looks beautiful! We are doing similar projects in our front and back yards! By October, we should have certain areas graded, loamed, landscape fabric laid and peonies and roses in one area planted and covered and then pea gravel placed, the other area will be graded, deck pillars placed, landscape fabric placed then gravel placed and next spring we will build a small deck and pergola off the back door. So many projects indoor and outdoor for us!

Kids learn by example; your kiddos see you and your Hubs working hard everyday and you allowing them to "help" is so important. You are absolutely right when you say they need to know that this is normal part of life. Love Love this whole video... Cant wait to see the flower bed makeover.. TFS

Your right about teaching kids by example. I have been laying new floors in my home and baseboards etc. My kids are young adults now and both know how to use power tools because of all my house projects over the years. When they were littlw I would let the help paint walls etc. When they were old enough I taught them to use power tools. Eventually turned into fun and not work. Now when I am doing a project or like laying our new lvp floors throughout our multilevel home they both help when not at work and it's enjoyable to do as s a family project. I also thinknit teaches them to appreciate the beauty of it all when it is completed. I love your little family and your videos. I look forward to seeing them posted everytime a new one is posted.

Makes me want to get in the yard!! Some of the best times when my kids were little was working in the yard and they would end swimming in our little pool then grilling out! Best summers ever!!

Firstly that skirt is everything. I love it. But I totally agree with you. I think you do your kids a gross injustice when you do everything for them. They learn by watching and doing. So let them do as much as they can. Then they don't look at you like your speaking a for foreign language when they get older and you start requiring them to pitch in. Little kids thrive on your praise they want to show you they can do things and I say let them try as best as they can. It teaches them dedication and problem solving and a host of other skills they will need all there lives. Can't wait to see where you go with this project . Have a blessed week lady until next vid

You are so smart and patient with letting your girls help when they want to. When I was your age and my kids were your kids age we would shoo them away instead of letting them help. More out of concern they would get hurt in some way but still there’s something to be said for letting them take some pride in being part of the project and the result.

Love how the planters have aged. I agree that putting a sealant on them would help. I sealed my cedar fence and cedar planter boxes and you can see the water bead off them. You can end your battle with hoses if you buy the nonkink hoses from Amazon. They are the only place I could find the 100 ft. I bought a 100 ft nonkink hose for my back yard and a 50 ft for my front and it made hosing sooooo much easier. They all come with great sturdy adjustable sprayers. I use large clay planters to hold the hoses when I'm finished. You will love them. Trust me.

Your porch looks lovely. Can't wait to see landscaping. The hanging baskets are a nice touch....just an idea...I use black chains bought at a local hardware store to a!low for easier watering and easy to reach. Blessings.

When we first moved in our house right when the pandemic hit that’s what project I worked on. I redid all of the garden beds that were here. I absolutely loved it! It was fun and relaxing for me lol.

Are you still happy you did the stenciling on the porch? I want to do something similar to look like a rug. I think the porch needs a nice hanging light fixture! your house is so beautiful, I think it would take it to the next level!

Hi! Thank you! Yes, I do! “Cat” stays inside. I adore her and almost never touch her. I was told they need very very little care so I keep her near the window. Water once every 3 weeks or longer
