The Timestamps are in the Description. RU-vid auto generates the Timestamp chapters, but this is the first time it's had a bug and it's not doing it! Apologies. They're still at the bottom of the video description, but I'll put them here as well: 00:12 Song Talk 1:57 How to Use this Tutorial 3:14 m1 4:27 m2 5:39 m3-4 6:36 m5-6 8:20 Strum It Like a Cowboy 9:49 m7-10 12:09 m11-15 14:06 m16 15:03 Practice Tips 16:31 VERSE m17-20 18:09 m21-22 20:21 m23-26 22:20 m27-32 23:34 Donation Pitch 25:34 How to SING and play 30:33 CHORUS m33-40 34:47 SINGing the Chorus 36:27 bridge + coda m41-50 40:19 CHORD CHART run through 44:47 SLOW RUN: intro 45:40 SLOW RUN: verse m17-32 46:32 again! Mike, Thanks so much for what you do. I first found you after I started searching for Blaze Foley from John Prine's Clay Pigeons cover. That lead me to your Clay Pigeons lesson - I learned Clay Pigeons from YOU and I play it a lot now. (not as well as you do). Now here I am seeking to learn more from you. I've started trying to transpose my way through Summer's End but I'm going to go with you now! THANKS! You are a great teacher and are very much appreciated.
i dont know! But i was late to Prine as well. This entire album is fantastic. Start here and then jump back to some of his early stuff. I've covered and tutorialed several on my channel. So just search "MIke's Music Method John Prine"
I’m a John Prine fan of 40years… I agree, this last Album ‘Tree of Forgiveness’ is one of his best! Your lesson here (all your lessons), are great! This is such a beautiful Song… Thank you for This lesson!
Thank you for all the work to load this, it wonderful we have such talented people helping others to gain the skills to enjoy Johns music. Again thank you now I’m going back to practice my favorite new song.
ah, you're welcome. And i really appreciate the comment. Just trying to spread the joy, the knowledge, and the love of fingerpicking these awesome tunes.
? Think there was a typo there. "Can we get some minute stops?" Not sure what you mean. And thanks! Try to get this as accurate as possible but make sure to break them down nice and slow.
@@MikesMusicMethod sorry for the lack of clarity. Some RU-vid tutorial videos provide, usually in the comment section, precise times in the video where a viewer can go directly to where you show specific techniques. this can save a student like me lots of time, trying to find specific sections of a longer video like this one that relate to the technique while skipping through the narrative parts of the video. I was hoping that you or another viewer might have done this. Or would be willing to do it. At age 70 I’m not particularly adept at this stuff. No worries if this is too much trouble and thanks again for the fine video tutorial on a great song.
@@williamburke6870 Thanks Will! Now I understand and thanks so much for reaching out and clarifying. RU-vid is being buggy! I havent had this happen yet. But all I have to do on my end is write the timestamps in the video description and youtube always autogenerates the chapters. But for some reason it didnt do it for this video! So thanks for bringing it to my attention. Unfortunately I cant seem to fix it but you can expand the video descirption, they're at the bottom. I also pinned comment with them in there. Good luck and lmk how it goes!!
Mike - quick question. I showed up at Open Mic with my capo angled like you have it. The host told me to "fix" it, which I did before plugging in. I'm pretty sure I started angling my capo from your videos. Can you share please why you do that and what it achieves?
lolol. that's hilarious that you were told to "fix it". I'd argue there isn't a right or wrong way to put on a capo. If it buzzes it's wrong, and if it doesnt buzz it's right. I tend to not put it too close to the fret. But to be fair, you're probably going to run into less trouble putting it on straight! So no, there isnt a secret reason I do it crooked, haha and honestly, I never noticed it until you pointed it out! Do I always slap it on crooked like that!?
@@MikesMusicMethod awesome! I’m active in my Catholic faith so I’m always looking for clues of others Christian faith. Love your channel. God bless you!
