There’s no other way to describe your videos than as a “vibe”. I don’t even like that word, but it’s just what your vlogs are. From the first one I saw (the Vienna one), I’ve been sold. The music, the videography…chef’s kiss.
I love your videos so much. 11 years ago I had a medical emergency and the Dr. that treated me was Korean. He and I just hit it off and became more than Dr/patient, we became friends. His story is so interesting (he and his wife were an arranged marriage) and I became so interested in Korean culture, then the food, kdramas and then the music. For 10 years I have been a fan of BTS. The more I got into BTS the more interested I became in Korean culture. I want so badly to visit SK some day. I want to visit the markets and eat my way thru, I want to visit the cafes and museums, just to walk the beautiful streets and parks. I just turned 60 and hope to get there with in the next year or two. In the mean time, I will continue to watch your wonderful videos, for now it is the closest I can get to SK. I read a comment where they talked about your "vibe"... I LOVE your vibe, your music choices (I even follow your spotify!!) your calmness and love 'walking' and "drinking/eating" thru SK via your videos! Thank you for giving me this experience and maybe some day I will meet you in SK for a coffee!
I was born and raised in Seoul, moved to the U.S., came back, and have been living and working in Seoul for the past 23 years. And I am pretty sure I've been to many of the places you filmed in your videos. I must say no one quite makes Seoul so special as you do, and I am almost ashamed that I never see what you see so effortlessly here. Until I saw your wonderful videos, words like vlog, vlogging, and vlogger did not mean a thing to me. Now I know. So, well done! I rediscovered Seoul, my home, so late in my life thanks to an itinerant Californian!
Seeing the statue of the olympian having the South Korean flag on his chest after hearing the story was... Poetic justice. I am so happy they made such a beautiful park in his honor and his story is treasured. Apart from that, you reminded me that I have an appointment with the eye doctor soon... Having your pupils dilated is so, so uncomfortable, not looking forward to it at all lol. Lovely vlog as always, Cari. It is a pleasure to watch these moments you so kindly choose to share in such a delightful way. Thank you. ♥
That way of ending the video with your pupils fully dilated 😂 I love the chill summer feeling of this video. Summer hasn't arrived here in Switzerland (so much rain and still cold-ish), so this is helping me feel those warm, sunny moments. Thanks for making my Sunday mornings so relaxing and cute!
My wife and I love your videos and look forward to each one. Thanks for making our weekends so much more relaxing and enjoyable. Congratulations on 400K subscribers.
Loved the little nuggets of history, I hope we get some more in the future. Also loved all the green in this vlog. Btw. the moment you said "I don't know if you can hear construction" the neighbour above me started banging on something so I just burst out laughing. Little coincidences! :D
this was such a lovely vlog! enjoyed watching every single minute of it 🌼 thank you so much for showing such beautiful corners of Seoul, it totally felt like I was on a trip together with you ✨✨
I’ve been watching your videos for years and it’s so exciting that as I watch your video I’m now in Seoul. I just had a lovely summer day and gotta say thanks Cari, you’ve been a huge inspiration for me to come to Korea and explore around. ❤
I love the vibe of your videos and I'm super inspired to share my own vlogs soon. I'm in Brighton UK which is a fantastic city, so quirky, so colourful and has the sea of course. I've lived in Asia too, China & Japan and I'm learning Korean just for fun so I really appreciate the way you cherish the small things and bring Asia back into my awareness. You make vlogs a part of a meditational experience and I love that. x
You always romanticise Summer so well, Whilst in Australia Summer is BROWN and dry. 😂 Anyway, through your videos I have discovered Cosmos is my favourite flower and so I have planted some Cosmos seeds in my garden and despite Oxalis growing rampant, some of the seedlings are toughing it out and growing through the Oxalis and freezing cold winter and minimal rain. It's been a weird old winter, it's usually the wettest season but it's been really cold and yet sunny? Your videos are definitely creating an aura of warmth in my heart ❤️
What a wonderful video! I really enjoyed the history piece and the views of the 1970s apartment building!!! I lived in Korea back in the late 1990s and so enjoy seeing all the changes im Seoul!!!
A very long time ago I had a similar eyechecking at the doctor. I know how it is. Of course it was winter and was snowing. I could not watch into snow.l, it hurt. I am happy that you're eyes are ok. Take care and have a nice Sunday everyone!
Moving story about the Olympic athletes. I hope to visit that monument when I make my next visit to Seoul. I hope your eyes are better. I haven’t had them dilated since I was a kid 😅 The heat is becoming oppressive on some days here in Tokyo. I hope it stays cooler in Seoul for a bit longer.
cari this video was absolutely perfect, it had a nostalgic early summer feel to it and your music choice was top tier + really loved the intro music. see you next week!!! excited to get up to some bookish things!!!
I’m sure people have asked this before, but are there just like, a million cafes in Seoul? I know it’s a big city but it literally seems like there’s multiple on every street/corner/block/alley etc. And a lot of them are so tiny too!
I am obsessed with your “top three songs on repeat” idea. I’d only heard red wine supernova (which I love) so I went straight to Spotify and added the others to my summer playlist. Thank you!
Beautiful vlog. I love Chappell Roan. Red Wine Supernova! Getting ready to go to the ocean today in New England to read and catch some much needed rays.
I've been home sick this weekend and binge watching Cari's videos so I was excited when I realize it was a new Cari video. I've been enjoying your videos Cari. Thank you for making my sick time a little easier.
My most favorite Vlog of yours ever ❤! So beautifully done! You are so good at what you do! Video is so dimensional and clear it felt like I was walking with you 😊
I want to live in Useless Adult omg ETA: I love those little neighborhoods too, but from what I understand, a lot of them seem to be going under as Seoul creates new buildings. (I'm sure many of those buildings are in horrible condition, but still)(and then you talked about exactly that!)
Hi Cari Always feel good when I watch your videos. I was very happy to see the middle school I attended a long time ago turned into Son Ki-jung's cultural library in your video. Of course, it is the school that the late Mr. Son attended during the Japanese colonial period. I remeber a people who forgets history has no future. Thank you for always showing the images of Seoul as your vibe.
Hi Cari! I have been following you for the past four years and I'm always looking forward to your vlogs, it's my Sunday morning ritual ❤ I also love cafe hopping and I hope to be able to visit Korea again in the future. I was wondering, have you ever thought about making a video (or a blog post) with all your cafe recommendations in Seoul and/or outside Seoul? Hugs from Italy, Caterina ❤
june has not been treating me well (like a surprising amount of thunderstorms in this week alone💀) but i’m soooo happy that the weather there is lovely
The "Fairy of The Books" posted another masterpiece 😎 great video as always 😉 you always find cute and cool places ☕ and i really love the aesthetic of your content. They are just soooooooooooo beautiful 🌼🌼🌼
I've been subscribed for quite a while, and it's great to finally see you visiting where I live. The train tracks you visited are my favorite place in Seoul. I have many more places around there that I'd like to introduce to you.
Had to explain to my mother what the hunting in Alaska reference was all about 😅 whoo, you had to go so *twihard*, I thought it was 2008 for a sec 😭 Another lovely video, Ms Cari. Have a nice summer.
They enhance it, add stevia or some kind of sweetener. Now, I always double check the labeling, in fact I don't buy those small cherry tomatoes anymore. (Strange to add sweetener! 😮)
