I'm second! You are God sent! I was following 2 youtubers who are good but don't speak about skin of color because they are not of color. I'm blessed my skin is still in great condition. Thank you for your service!
Please make a video for an anti-aging skincare routine with products other than the ordinary because two of the products in the routine you did haven’t been available anywhere in months. 🙂
Hi Dr V, please advice on good deodorants for underarm hyperpigmentation. Due to hyperhydrosis I’ve used driclor which combats the sweating but burns and leave dark dark underarms 😩. Can I use Niacinamide or salicylic at night to help this situation? Thank you for educating us. My overall skin has improved tremendously since discovering your channel a few weeks back and my awareness of ingredients is slowly getting there 😊
I’ve been watching your episodes since DAY 1! Let me just say, I’m so happy with where this channel is going, along with your amazing energy and passion, that I feel every BIPOC that is using/starting skincare should subscribe to you. Thank you for your wealth of knowledge in each episode! It makes me feel nostalgic as well, like I’m back in university listening to my biochem, and anatomy & physiology professors again. Also Dr V, can you do a deep dive on this Korean skincare brand called Rovectin? The line was started out to actually treat patients on chemo, and it is a rising brand in S. Korea.
Hey Dr V, can you do a video on discoloration between the folds of our skin such as the breast. ( what causes it , what can I use to help get rid of it or help it from coming back ).I’ve been loving your videos and learned so much from it. Thank you😃
Hello Dr V, hope you’re well. Please could you do a video on whether we need these face cleansing devices e.g Foreo, PMD, Clarisonic etc. Would love to know your views on these. 💕
I’m so very glad that you decided to pursue skincare for people of color. You are an amazing teacher and I have been recommending your channel to my friends. Love and respect to you and yours!
Thank you, I watch your anti aging video I am 55 and I was looking for a new way to take care of my skin...so excite about the skin cream and sun screen, I was using 30 but I will be using 50. You the best.
I'll be honest, when I saw that you used makeup wipes, it put me off. Because I'm REALLY against it, especially since there's a much better option. But obviously, I still love you and everything you do for us! But I'm SO glad that you've stopped using make up wipes!!! It honestly is a HUGE step for our environment and I'm proud of you!! Thank you for everything!❤
I am really happy that I get to know your channel ! Now everytime I go to buy a skin care producy and beauty advisors advise me with something , i will flip the product to see ingredient and be like NOOO ! My DR V said this ingredient is not for skin of color ! I wish can reach UK and be treated by You for my skin problems :( Please share with us a routine to get rid of scars after breakout specially for back blemish ! I suffer from it for many years and nothing is working in it which makes me think twice before I wear open back clothes 💔 Thank you for all of love you are giving to us ♥️
Hi Dr V Please respond to this, I'm desperate. I'm black and I just turned 30. At 21 I created a skin care regimen that seemed to work amazingly well for me but once I turned 27 things went wrong. I’ve listed my regimen below: Cleanser - powdered wholegrain oats, Manuka honey 20+ and water (mixed into a paste) Moisturiser - e45 intense recovery lotion Exfoliation - sugar, powdered oats, turmeric, Manuka honey, olive oil and lemon juice (once a week) Mask - avocado, egg yolk, powdered oats, turmeric, Manuka honey, olive oil (once a week for 30mins after exfoliating) I used to have oily skin with a very nice glow but my skin stopped retaining moisture. I have changed my moisturiser multiple times in the last 3 years but no matter what I use my skin remains dull, extremely dry and hyper sensitised to anything I put on it. I have been getting darker and darker and I’ve noticed signs of aging and a loss in skin elasticity and volume in my cheeks due to the constant dehydration (and possibly something else?). I don’t know what to do anymore and I don’t think my skin can take much more of this before the damage becomes irreversible. I started using some of the products you recommended and these were my results: Simple moisturising wash - stripped skin of remaining moisture Cetraben - darkened skin Cerave - left skin tight and dry (is it safe to mix melted unrefined cocoa butter into it to increase its moisturising properties?) Nothing works and I'm afraid to put any actives on my skin in case I react badly to them. Is there anything that you could suggest?
It sounds like you damaged your acid mantle. Lemon juice has a pH of 2 which is far too low for your skin. You need to let your skin rest. I would moisturise 3 times a day followed by SPF50 for the next 2 months and see if the sensitivity has improved.
@@vanitarattan thank you so much for responding. Is it ok to still use my honey and oat cleanser and my avocado and egg yolk mask? I replaced the Cerave moisterising cream with Simple replenishing lotion because I get better moisturising from it. Is it safe to mix unrefined cocoa butter into the Cerave? My skin has always reacted well to raw cocoa butter.
I would like to see what you eat in a day, what to expect when treatment of hyperpigmentation in a dermatology office, shower gel you use and thank you so much for all the help you have given me
Love the attention you give to skin that literally applies to the majority of the world 💓. Interesting what you say/imply about the regular CERAVE moisturizer being suitable for all skin types. With sensitive combo skin, I'm always super cautious and weary of emollients that are designed for dry skin since I find them way too greasy. I'll try this out and see how it goes! Thanks and can't wait for more videos on Asian skincare!
Hi Dr V ... stunning as always. I don’t know if you’ve made a video on facial steamers ones you purchase on Amazon. Also what are your thoughts about going to the salons and having them do facials, masks etc. I hope you are enjoying yourself. Thanks again for all you are doing, you have no idea how much you are changing and helping people looking and feel better about themselves.
You are awesome. Finally someone who can bring awareness on the product ingredients. Could you make a video on swimming skin care . Whenever I go swimming my skin becomes tanned and dry . Is there a way to protect or speed recovery
Hi Dr V, appropriate if you could do a video on Supergoop! sunscreens like the Unseen Sunscreen, Zinc Screen 100%, Matte Screen 100% and the Supergoop Invisible Setting Powder. Thank you! ❤️
Thank you so much for bringing your expertise to this community! The majority of the world is POC or has POC skin needs/problems. I just added niacinamide to my routine based on you. Wow! Results already.
Wished I knew about your skin care advice years ago . I spent hundreds of pounds over the years on skin creams not suitable for skin of colour and suffered with dark spots and blemishes. I have now thrown them all out !
Dr V. Hii! Am an 18 year old with fair to wheatish skin tone with a pinkish undertone and I have normal to dry skin type . I am sensitive to most standard products that use fragnances and/or other irritants and I lovee dat facewash it's the only one dat I've found so far which does not irritate my sensitive skin and it doesn't make my skin feel dry and parched like most facewashes out there. Especially those with medical formulations like salicylic acid, mandellic acid, glycolic acids etc. usually do as , though they tend to "work" for my occasional breakouts mostly acne vulgaris or follicitus around my hair line or t zone or upper lip area but they leave my sensitive skin in a worse off condition than before. I have ever since started off using a more gentle approach towards cleansing and incorporated niacinamide and spot-treatment thereafter following up with a hydrating gel based mosturizer and it has shown a great deal of improvement in my hyperpigmentation caused due to uv damage and my skin's reaction towards various popular sun protection products formulated with spf 50 nd above (ideal for a swimmer) like neutrogena, lakme, nivea, minimalist to name a few. I found out what works for me in that department after consulting my derma and figuring out what works for my sensitive skin type but I had one question for you regarding a treatment Ever since like 6th or 7th grade, after puberty I started developing like these mole like lesions on my face and neck and under arm area and as I was allergic to sunprotection ,I started seeing there was a big difference in their appearance over the years due to sun exposure as well they became more prominent and darker and started popping up in newer places and so after having these for over 5+ years I got a proper diagnosis for them in a recent consulation about two months ago my dermac told me that it's a condition called dpn or dermatosis papulosa nigra and recommended laser treatment which well .. isn't that cost effective moreover am actually more apprehensive of it's efficiency in results given my skin's sensitivity Could there be an alternative mode of treatment suitable for dis condition in my case? Pls revert , ur opinion nd much needed guidance would be highly appreciated ❤
I just discovered you, Dr. V., in fact, this is only the second video I've watched. I am so happy that I did because I just ordered tretinoin with hydroquinone after seeing a few dermatologist recommendations that it was an effective treatment. When it arrives I will not be putting it on my face and will just use it on a scar I have on my knee instead. Talk about perfect timing. I can't wait to delve into the rest of your videos. Thanks for this video, and enjoy the remainder of your holiday!
Thank you! I've been looking for help with my skin. People often generalize & say skincare is the same for everyone no matter the color of your skin but POCs know better. I'm looking into your tips for my mom's hyperpigmentation so thank you thank you thank you
Hi Dr V! So glad I found your channel! I’m soon to be 30 and wanting to know more about skincare routines now as I’m seeing some changes in my skin. Would you please do a video on what to must include in skincare routine and how to layer those in your 30s?
Oh this has been my favorite video so far, I agree with you in so many things! You’re so lovely. And you look stunning! Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge with us 🙏
Hi Dr V! Love you and your videos! So so helpful, you're a godsend. Could you please make a video on best bodywashes and body lotions/oils for our skin - face and body, which are harmful and have ingredients we should avoid. Thank you so much :)
Hello Dr V, could you please create a video on ingredients to look for when buying hair care products including shampoos, conditioners and other products suitable for thinning hair along with a couple of affordable product recommendations?
Thank you for all the insights! Can we use Ascorbic acid 8% and alpha arbutin instead of magnesium ascorbyl phosphate for getting a even skin tone. And is it safe to use it every night? And on the ordinary chart it says we shouldn't be using Ascorbic acid 8% alpha arbutin with niacinamide, while in one of your videos if am right you said it's okay to use. Could you please confirm the same. Thank you n stay safe!
she clarified this in one of her videos in comments.. that ordinary brand has changed the compatibility table n except MAP .. no other vit c is incompatible vd niacinamide.. its how the ordinary brand has formulated. usually niacinamide n vit c can be worn together but not from the ordinarys brand products. yes u can used ascorbic.
Dr V.. You have really helped me in understanding skincare ingredients better... Ur videos r amazing... Please review on Clinique products also... And it will be really helpful if you could help us with skincare products which is easily available in India.
Dear Dr V, 😘I hear u mentioned eczema.. I suffer d same but two months ago for some medical other matters my doc prescribed me with Floron(iron) and surprisingly eczema stop showing up even after my heavy workout.. Usually it would flare up and I had to rush into shower.. so just thought I share ths
You're brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and actually taking the time to present so clearly. We're all very grateful! Wish we had you down in Australia!! x
Dr.V Thankyou for doing this video, I am 33 year years old and dealt with KP and acne all throughout my life and I am still dealing with them. I am a little desperate please answer this, if I have to include Paula’s choice BHA exfoliations in you winter care routine that you posted earlier, where would you include it?
Thank you Dr. V for a great video as always. Please could you do a video for permanent facial hair removal for brown skin? Thanks a lot for all that you do.
Hope you are online and reading this. So i threw all my pixi and ole hrksn products🙁 (because of fragrance, i know all the names now lol) And bought cerave! So basically trusting your reviews💕 please review lancome youth range. Enjoy the holiday.
Hi love your recommendations of skin products thank you. P.S you look AMAZING you know by now im one of your fans now!lol!! I love watching your videos you make me laugh i love your sense of humour its like mine!! Down to earth you are and we love you. Thank you xxx
Loved the routine and very informative. Thanks Dr. V! Can I use pure olive oil instead of DHC deep cleansing oil? I don't really where makeup and this product is shockingly very expensive in India!!!! Does anyone else feel the same way?
Thank you for this. You've inspired me career wise. Just love how enthusiastic you are. What are your thoughts on the pink clay alya skin range and the nip and fab brightening range?
Hi Dr V. Love watching your informative videos. Could you please do a video on a skincare routine with Indian products for hyperpigmentation. Thanks again
Alway appreciate your video sharing! I bought the Anti Agex and Wrinklex from PharmaClinix. I noticed Wrinklex has parfum as one of the ingredients. I’m surprised to see this as you always object to parfum. Can you comment on this? Thank you so much!
your story is amazing! Its nice to see women of color thriving and succeeding. Can you review the brand Urban skin rx products they seem to great ingredients and they claim they are melanin experts
Hi Dr V thank you for your video. How should I layer anti agex, lightenex gold, niacinamide serum, hyaluronic acid, Medik8 crystal retinal and Paula's choice BHA 2% should I do alternate days, can I drop something cause its covered in the pharmaclinix products? I have oily congestion and some Hyperpigmentation.
Please dr Vanita, please please respond to this...i have been asking this in every comment section of your video... 1- How often do I need to *REAPPLY* sunscreen when indoors? (the windows in my room has curtains, not direct sunlight but some dispersed sunlight) 2- Can I use pure rose water as a toner? ps- i have sensitive, dry to combination acne prone skin.
1- every 4 hours 2- some skin types can this tho you can just skip and use an intense hydrating Moisturizer like Cetraben or Cerave Moisturizing Cream (Tub one)
@@drawsobeautiful5319, that is when you are outdoors, right? When you are indoors, I think thrice. When you wake up, at noon and at 4.pm. That is what Dr. Dray recommends.
Also you mentioned you have sensitive skin. Rose water is fragranced and can irritate your already sensitive skin. Most derms would say you can skip toners as they can be drying and irritating
Could you please do a series on good face washes, toners and moisturisers (basic skin care products from brands that are easily available) like the brand simple is also not available everywhere
Hey Dr V! You still look great sweaty! Can you do a video on great skin tips for 50+ year olds? Also do you not use serums in the evening? Literally buy everything you recommend!
Dr. Vanita I recently found your channel and I am impressed. You are beautiful and articulate and I enjoy watching your videos. I am also interested in buying your products. However, when I saw the ingredient list, I noticed you like dimethicone. I've always thought that using silicones on facial products caused dryness IN the long run and I try to avoid them. Could you please make a video on how silicones work on skin care? Also, on this video you are using a cleansing foam that contains salicylic acid. I might be wrong but my understanding is that the skin bellow the eye does not regenerate like the rest of the face, so don't you think it is contraindicated to use a salicylic acid gel to wash the eye area? I love learning and this channel has great information to better understand how to care for our skin. After all, the skin is the largest organ in our bodies. Thank you for your hard work!
Hi your are a total gift to SOC. can I ask is Re pigment by NIOD safe to use please and also in the layer products in your video 5 months ago. Please please reply 🙏🙏
Hi Dr V Is it ok for skin of colour to wear Naicinimide during the day ?. Is it classed as an Active ? I wear Vitamin C at night. Is it ok to layer Mandelic acid hyalauronic acid and Vitamin C at night? Could you please review or recommend some Kojic acid products ? Thank you
I love the family story! Us Asians are supported no matter what by our parents. Thank God! It makes all sense why you don’t like to monetize, truly a blessing for us! I love your relationship with your mom. Take care and have fun in your vacation
