Being disabled and in bed a lot I don't connect with nature as much as I'd like, but I have a great view of trees and sky from my bedroom window. That view helps me so much, as does having the window open, hearing the sound of the wind in the trees and the birds outside. So calming. Little joys.
Much Love Hannah ♥️ I am in a similar situation and I miss being in nature so much, like you, I have a window that opens and I listen to the birds and find the things I took for granted are now my greatest blessings 🤗
Stay strong you are stronger than you think! 🙏 I have M.S.A. and have recovered after being sent home to Dye Countless times In some of those times I did die but I'm still here I keep coming back. 🙏 Remember doctor it's called a medical practice, there not the creator. It's my time when the creator says it is. Stay strong! 🙏🤗🤗
Well, for one thing, the Summer Solstice marks the time for bee keepers to harvest the honey 🍯. As the days begin to shortened , the queen bee begins to lay fewer and fewer eggs getting ready to shut down the population of the hive for winter, thus reducing the need for all the honey they have produced giving us it's bounty. At the Winter Solstice the queen bee begins to lay more and more eggs in readiness for the pollen coming in the Spring. Nature is so beautifully made :)
Strangely enough, as soon as I woke up this morning, I felt the need to light a candle. I opened my curtains and windows and I’m blessed to be surrounded by trees. So I always start my day looking into the trees, and the sky and appreciating the nature around me. I lit my candle, and just sat for a short moment watching the flames. I hadn’t realised it was the solstice. I wasn’t reminded until early evening. Much love 💕
My dear, In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love. In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm. I realized, through it all, that… In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger - something better, pushing right back. Truly yours, Albert Camus - Albert Camus
Hiked up a mountain at 3am to watch the Inca Ray through the ruins at Ollantaytambo Peru after a Solstice ceremony for Pachamama. In the South hemisphere we call this the return of the light, calling all children of light to celebration.
Celebrated the solstice with meditation, reflected on the last 6 months, set intentions for next 6 months, made 2 beautiful garlands and sent one down the river with love and prayer. The other is hanging on my front door. Adore this time of year and all that nature offers us
We celebrate Summer Solstice/Litha by decorating our house, alter and surroundings with sea shells, flowers, garlands and candles. We eat summer fruits and vegetables and bask in the sunshine. Today, it will be 105 degrees! Now that is how we begin! Wishing you bright blessings for a lovely solstice evening Russell! ♥️🌞😌
Thank you for this! For thr first time, I took June 21 this year off as a religious holiday. I woke at sunrise to greet the sun, and lit a candle that was kept burning all day until sunset and just past. I had a cleansing and purifying shower. I baked cornbread. I ate a brunch of lemon poppyseed pancakes, strawberries and oranges. I spent time in the garden, tidying and transplanting. I created a watercolour painting of a sunset. I cooked myself a later meal on the BBQ. I enjoyed some yoga outdoors. I attended an online ritual to celebrate Solstice with some community. It was a very enjoyable day. Hopeful next year will be spent in live community with like-minded friends. ☀️🌻💚
I live in a block of flats and have no outdoor space and have felt so disconnected and unhappy....especially throughout covid. Miss just having a back door to open or a window that's more than 2 inches. But, 3 weeks ago I finally got offered an allotment after a 4 year wait and I feel transformed. I have no idea what I'm doing really but just forgotten how much I love being around nature....and how things can grow from seeds! Had some on my windowsill and the amazement and satisfaction and awe of how nature can change in the space of hours. Truly believe that from a trauma informed perspecitive....it's how to regulate our nervous systems again, accept our emotions as intense as they may be....and then learn to be in our body and reconnect with the world. It's certainly helping me that I'm already looking to start a community garden project for youngsters in the tower blocks near here i work with. Amazing...and love your videos as always Russell ❤️🙏🌅🌻
I can’t imagine how that must make you feel living without outdoor space! It was great to read you now have an allotment and amazing plans for it! Wishing you all the very best with it, enjoy those days spent working it and the fruits of your labour. 🙏🏻❤️
Full moon summer solstice here I started celebrating June 20th. I did a home cleanse and placed some flowering lemon balm in the bird bath. under moon light . Misted the office with rose essence and lit some peach incense . Tonight I will make some butterfly pea flower Moon water charged with crystals . But Im not religious nor against . 🙃Just connected to mother nature
I've had a lovely solstice thank you. I guess if I put a name on it I'm a practicing pagan, so I was up to see the sunrise and I've been observing nature all day. It reconnects us to what's important.
I follow the olde ways and the Wheel of the year. I use Solitice and other key points across the year to celebrate my Ancestors and their unity with the Earth and with the spirits of nature. 🖤💫
It’s so beautiful how all ancestors around the world celebrated this day. All wisdom and traditions have personally been so washed down and forgotten from their original understanding. We are claiming back the meaning, power, and connectedness as we reconnect with our inner most being, and our truest nature with nature.
Happy summer solstice Russel! Here in Greece we celebrate jumping three times a fire saying love poems and vows a custom coming straight from the night of the heliotropio( solar flower) in Ancient Greece.
June 21st is my birthday! As I enter my 38th year, I’m introducing a new tradition of stillness and reflection to my birthday celebration; thanks to you! This video is a wonderful gift.
My wife & I were married at Avebury on solstice six years ago💚🇬🇧🌱 we watch the sunrise & spend the day with each other rejoicing in the world around us & watch the sunset appreciating everything we have...
I’m a “born again pagan” and converted to something more like Wicca at about 21 years old. I celebrate the solstice now, with a group of like minded souls and we create sacred rituals to honor nature and the divine, and dance around the fire. When I am alone I often write intentions and create an altar at home with candles. I also align my energy with that of the season. This is the time for high energy and connection. Time for celebration. Blessed be Russel, as always I appreciate you and what you put into the world!
Oh how I enjoyed the day☀️ I placed a pitcher of water out in the sun to bathed in its loving life creating rays! What a beautiful time to be alive friends🙏🏼💛
This resonates. I am currently surrounded by the fast-tracked, urban, concrete jungle. Summer Solstice is an inspirational time to rejuvenate, revitalize and recharge with the elemental power of the Sun. Which is fine with me because I tend to be "a sun worshipper" and light seeker. Lucky for you Russell, you have the benefit of the outdoors and can connect with nature the way you do. Enjoy 🕯️🕯️🕯️
It is all a great wave, moving from darkness into light back into darkness as a seed and growing towards the light once again. Nature, our teacher and benefactor. Blessed Be the Light.
We ARE the light, deep within us. It can be unlocked through meditation. Being connected to our natural environment is part of this equation. I really enjoy the enlightenments that you provide on this site. Thank you Russell for all of us..
If you are a Saint, follow only God not deception. 1 Timothy 4 N I V 4 "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer."
I love this time of the year, and then when sun comes down! Early early autumn!Blissfull days, happy days, sunshine, sea, vitamin D! Ahhhh and lots ice cream, ice lollies.
I spent this years summer solstice in the sun. And burnt my legs haha I recently started reading about and practicing wicca/paganism again put of dlight desperation for connection to love, survival and a deeper understand of the world we live in. Been a rough several years and I just felt so lost and thought there must be something about the old ways of our ancestors that guided them and gave them the strength, determination and courage to get through harsh times. Blessed Be!
Happy Solstice to All! Giving thanks for all that is and to the mystery of Life. So glad you are here and bringing this attention to this day a reminder of the magnificence of all that is. The sun begins to turn back across the further most northern part of the sky and moves to the south again to give them summer in December. How blessed we all are to receive this life. Giving thanks to the beautiful sun and the rays of light that give us light to live here. The wonderful fruits of passion that we cultivate through the fertile soil. Thank you to the incredible design of the Solar system entity that teaches us who we are..Let us bow our heads in LOVE! Being a good person and developing good character is what is most important..because we never die, our souls live forever! Xo
I went to the beach and swam in the Gulf of Mexico. The water was never as beautiful as it was today. There is no other feeling like this as I float in the warm, clear water and bask in the powerful energy of the Solstice sun. I meditate and send out pulses of love through the water into the grid. I take in the feeling of the abundant aquamarine water, blue sky and consciously breathe gratitude. I connect to the Oneness. It’s a powerful feeling. Thank you 🙏🏼
We did a performance of Romeo and Juliet on Solstice sunrise yesterday in an old overgrown amphitheatre just north of Sydney Harbour Bridge. Blimey the energy was palpable, and 30 people came to watch and be there. Everyone said it was crazy, but we and you might be the only people that aren’t!! ❤
For me, in Australia, summer solstice is a worrisome time. It is a marker for the beginning of bushfire season. It brings a feeling of awe and humbling respect. Winter solstice is the time that brings hope, it signals no more waking in the dark, that the warmth will be coming soon.
We were looking at crop circles. I find great comfort in the belief that there is a beautiful energy, a life force, an ancestral wisdom that we can feel yet do not fully understand. During such a tumultuous time, all that is out of reach in the realm of the mystical and sacred breathes optimism and unity somehow. Much healing and love to all on this summer solstice! Regeneration and Samsara 🙏🤍🕊
Lovely thanks for doing this. I hung out with my leo sis/friend and gardened under the noon sun. It wasn’t until I came home I realized it was the solstice (because I had put up a banner for it then forgot about it over the last week). Tuning in to the natural cycles is part of our return to our inner power.
Solstice Blessings, Russell and family!!! Yes, the connection to the natural world is a beautiful and powerful one.Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings on the history of solstice gatherings and possible ways to derive meaning from it ourselves.🙏🏼🌿🌿🌿🌿💚🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿💛🌞💛🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿🌿
Hey Russel I spent my Solstice holy-day at Hartland- North Devon, ablaze with sacred energy and ancient secrets. I just watched Lars Muhl -The Quickening nice words for beacons of light. I am re-reading The Secret History of the World-' By and large the people who have most changed history have not been the great generals or politicians, but the artists and thinkers. An individual sitting alone in a room giving birth to an idea can do more to change the course of history than a general who commands thousands on the field of battle or a political leader who commands the loyalty of millions'. Imagination is the key.
I liken the solstice to the energy of a full moon, but on the scale of a full year rather than a month. For me it is a day to honor the spirit of creativity, and celebrate the FULL BLOOM moment. Living on the 45th parallel gives me a vivid experience of the seasons, and of fluctuations in available light hours to fill with meaningful activity. Im brimming over with ecstatic energy on this day, and am so thrilled to dance with the divine as a human incarnation. Thank you for celebrating in your own way, with me, Russell! 🥰
Went to the farmers market, sage my statues to absorb the sun rays and placed out my cards to do a reading. Happy Solstice everyone. Thank you to all for opening their eye to see the truth🥰🌻💐🧙🏼♀️🪄💛
For the last 2 years I've timed my fasting with the Solstices and the Equinoxes - 5 day prolonged fast on the Solstices and 7 days on the Equinoxes. I'm currently enjoying the afterglow of last week's fast - I treat it as a holiday and a reset, slowing down, getting into a different gear, thinking from a different perspective. I go for walks every day during the fasts instead of my usual exercise regimes, I try to ensure that work isn't too stressy. It has become the best thing I do for myself.
We always celebrate with family. Converted from Christianity back in 97 and have been so much happier since. I do get slightly annoyed at them usurping our holy days- but whatever. We have a great time with food and drinks and outside games, catching fire flies and having a small bonfire. Gods bless you, Russell and have a great summer!
Happy Summer Solstice everyone 🌎 Or, whatever your beliefs are! I celebrate our Mother with Love and Gratitude ♥️ Her beauty takes my breath away. Much Love to All and Thank you Russell and Team 🤗
I'm so detached from this in reality but I'm going to change that, I'm going to start meaningful connecting with nature weekly from now on. There's also a 5 planet alignment in the sky this month..... The solar system will go through a some chaotic changes in the near future, ground yourself, connecting with the source..... Peace, power and freedom to all.
Solstice Celebration with a silent meditation at SummerHill Pyramid Winery in Okanagan British Columbia Canada - followed by Kukuli Gathering with bonfire, potluck and drumming. Could not imagine a more powerful celebration of Light in our northern hemisphere- and firstly honouring - the Okanagan Sylix People and blessed to be a part of this unceded territory. I honour and celebrate June 21st
Best Solstice celebrations were in Casper. Wyoming in the 1970's, 80's and 90's. An iconic poetess and storyteller, Neil Forsling, had lived in a cabin on Casper Mountain in the 50's and 60's. To entertain her children she created a pantheon of witches and other spirits who all had interconnected stories and lived on her property. By 1976, her stories were brought to life on Midsummer's Eve by her daughter, actors and storytellers in a celebration that also involved a huge bonfire and throwing fistfulls of red earth into it. Hundreds of people attended. Sadly, the celebration has been discontinued for not very good reasons, but the Witches of Casper Mountain will always hold a special place in my heart on this day.
I actually celebrated first time in my life in Glastonbury UK at Tor. Took part in pagan celebrations and I really loved it. Energy was really strong, fire and singing as we were waiting for sunrise...amazing experience, very emotional to me.
Thank you for this reminder. Your channel is a unique and interesting source of both curiosity and calming balm for me in the past few months since I found it.
My husband and I spent Winter Solstice (Southern Hempishere 😉), travelling from the North of the State to the South. I felt disappointed to realise we had missed the magic moment of solemn reflection and introspection, as we sped through the darkness, battling Winter rains 😅...The disappointment was fleeting. I didn't get hung up on what the hands in a clock shows me. I simply pondered our situation and appreciated the symbolic spiritual transition Winter itself represents and felt an overwhelming sense of peace and calm. Happy Solstice indeed 🙏🧡.
June 21st in France is also the Fête de Musique at which anyone may sing or make music in the late afternoon/early evening. I was at the tiny port of La Ciotat where I saw, along the port, a rock group, a group of elders playing with guitars and banjos, a dj, a dance group with African drums, and several individuals or couples singing, playing or dancing their hearts out. People filled the port and walked along, drinking, eating, & dancing, enjoying the music. All ages, all peoples, very pleasant.
I watch the moon on June 21 , walk under the night sky and feel the quiet of the world 2015 or 2016 had a strawberry moon. Our tilling, seeding and planting of the of the garden, is finally done, hope for blessings in the summer, and a harvest of plenty to share in the fall :)
Thank you for recognizing attunement to nature and cosmic systems as anathema to man made hierarchies and systems! To me, collective re-enchantment of our world and a reconnection with nature is absolutely vital to liberation from the tyranny of our present paradigm. Reverence for the natural yearly rhythm and celebrating forgotten pre-Christian holidays is a beautiful way to to do this. Happy Solstice! To anyone who is interested in learning more about the subject, I highly recommend the Fair Folk podcast with Danica Boyce.
I am a pagan, and long time fan, and really appreciate that you made this video! I celebrated the summer solstice in the forest with apricot pies and some wine, and offerings to the gods.
Earth is surrounded by energy that bounce back to our mind, remind us we are part of our conscious to search the light of our being away from dark matters. Blessings 🙏 be at peace ➕
The sun was quite powerful as I felt God's love. I planted flowers, played in the pond, watered the trees ... I hope you and Laura had a glorious day ☀️
I need to get OUT of my box sir 💯 I was outside playing with my children yesterday evening, and I noticed the sunset was lasting a long time and was enjoying every moment of it. I must have taken 10 pictures of the different color changes it went through. Then we did some sparklers. It was a beautiful night 🥰 God bless you all from head to toe front door to back door bumper to bumper.
Happy Litha!!! Loved watching the sunrise on a feed at Stonehenge this morning. So happy they let people mill around the center for the Solstices & use it in the way it was intended
My birthday is on the solstice and I have always appreciated having the extra daylight to acknowledge all the blessings of my life. My most spiritual experiences have always been when I am in nature. It is part of my spiritual practice to attempt to bring the light to everyone I encounter. Thanks for the great reminder of the larger picture, Russell.
It's raining in Washington tonight. Plump, warm summer rain that covers the sidewalks with leopard spots. Downtown, elderly ladies carry their houseplants out to set them on the fire-escapes, as if they were infirm relatives or Boy Kings. I like that. - Alan Moore, Swamp Thing, Vol. 1: Saga of the Swamp Thing
Yes solstice! Start of a new year of 6 months for me! More so the winter solstice but summer, too. For growing green things the solstice is like, ok here we go, for realsies now, no turning back, it’s on. In zone 5 New England, USA, that is a very serious acknowledgement. Thank you, RB!
Summer solstice is the most frenzied of all the energies for me. I live in the woods w/wildlife and the energy keeps spiraling faster and more frenzy right up until the solstice. Then i breathe, exhale and start to relax with my gathering and medicine-making. Then it begins to slow down until I reach the winter solstice, where I begin to prepare for the harshness of winter. It is quite a rhythm. I wouldn’t live any other way.
Russell , just Great... I lite some candles & celebrated , prayed & sending love to all of us ancient Star Beings ...love yiu all, my Earth 💃👫👬👭👪✌Family from a Ga.Lady standing in Soviernty In Az.👌😘💋💋💋🕉💪🏋🌈🕊🌝
For me, aside from it being a three-day high-energy period to give love and gratitude for everything the sun does for us, our solar logos also represents, and is a filter for, Christ Consciousness Divine Masculine energies. So, I use this time to honor and welcome the peak of these energies into my energetic system. Whereas, the Winter Solstice is the peak of the Divine Feminine and Sophia energies.
I worship our closest star and often stand in the sun and accept its energy it beams onto me with great appreciation. Summer and winter Solstice is a special time. It should also reinforce your true perception reality. What we are part of and what's actually important in life.
Taught Tai Chi and Yoga today! Lot's of Manipura Chakra, Sun Salutations and earthing. Talked about the fire element and balance. Used a water metaphor to cool the fire of the solar plexus. Tai Chi practice was in a grove of shade trees in the evening. We gathered in the qi of the setting sun and tucked a bit of the solar energy into the heart to save for the coming darkness of winter. In other words, this old hippie flew her freak flag!!
Ahh you crazy souls at the bottom of the world, your 6 months late but we send blessings to all. Here on top of the world we tuned into the winter solstice and tremble with anticipation at the energy's to come. Love from Australia. Ps. enjoy the ebb and flow it the one real ride.
Peace and blessings on this Summer Solstice to you and yours Russell. My wife and I took our dog on a walk to the nearby field and we watched the sunset, then when we got back home we had a small bonfire in our garden and watched the stars appear, feeling at one with all that is. Much love 🙏
