In today's video I will be putting together a summer travel capsule wardrobe for a mystery location (& pretend holiday!) 🙈
I started this series a couple of months ago when a subscriber requested that we 'escape' these harsh realities of lockdowns and pack for a pretend holiday. I thought this was a really fun idea, and something silly we can all look forward to, and escape into our imaginations for a little while.

For this summer capsule wardrobe I aimed to pack 10 pieces (give or take) plus shoes. I ended up being able to make 25+ outfit ideas / combinations with this capsule wardrobe. I am really happy with the outcome - it is a perfect mix of casual and chic with a touch of vintage.

Love your travel capsule! Pre covid my husband and I used to do three month trips to Europe every year (we’re retired). I always use a carry on because I’m not as strong as I used to be and also because I need to be able to carry my own bag up and down stairs in Europe. I usually limit myself to 11-13 items of clothing and three pairs of shoes (including what I’m wearing on the flight). Yes, you can fit in more than that but I like to leave a little room in my bag because sometimes I get bored and buy a couple of things along the way.

love this travel capsule series! keep them coming! I especially appreciate how you layer items because I tend to get cold. I live in Michigan which has a colder climate the majority of the year. When I travel to warm climates, the air conditioning in places is freezing. You are helping me see how just a few layering pieces can be used for multiple outfits.

Thank you. Beautifully done. Great content. You have a beautiful voice and presence as well. I was intrigued about using wool sweaters in the summer, as I usually turn to lighter weight. Emily! I loved it! Thank you so much! It was super helpful in this moment of my life when Im working in re-finding my style after some changes in my life. And summer is coming and I live in NZ and it's a bit of a confusing time cause it can be quite chilly here. I remember friends coming from Australia and finding it a bit cold. This video reminded of me of 2very important things: 1st I just need a few pieces to have a whole summer wardrobe, combinations can be endless with the right pieces. 2nd made me pause to actually think of what I am actually going to wear, I see super summery and beautiful dresses out there but the reality is that here is not that hot to actually wear them. Maybe I can get 1 for when I travel to a hotter city but in Auckland I am not going to wear them so a midi or long dress or a cardi and pants are more realistic. My fantasy self VS my real feeling-cold-all-the-time self. Thank youuuuuuu 😘

When my sister and I visited New Zealand a few years ago in late September (spring for you/early fall for us in Arizona), the high temperatures were actually 40 degrees (Fahrenheit) colder than at home, and we wished we had packed more sweaters!! "Hot" and "cold," like so many things, are relative :)

Hello lovely!! oh baggy bum doesn't sound very fun! To be honest, I don't have a lot of problems with my linen pants being baggy at the bum, but I do have this issue with the knees!!! My linen trousers have elastic around the waist with plenty of extra fabric around the top, maybe that helps prevent the baggy bum. I'm not sure, but I find that I do like to wash them to bring the shape back in the knees, even if I do a quick hand wash and dry. Sending you love! 🥰💗 xoxo

Don't think this capsule would work for me temperature-wise: too many layers for +25C. It's +25 where I live today. I went out to grab a coffee wearing a scoop neck sleeveless vest and jeans and came back 15 minutes later sweating through my eyeballs 😅
