I’m 6’2” and 175lbs. I really enjoy hunting with my mini viper. It’s lightweight and easy to operate. I hope this comment will help those who are on the fence about making the mini part of your hunting life.
Hey James! Thanks so much for your input! I was hoping someone a bit taller would provide feedback. 6’2” and using the Mini is awesome! Thanks again and best of luck this season 🦌👍🏻
I welded 2 aluminum angle pieces on my mini viper bottom platform and put an old school fold up seat on it. Climb using my tether with a ropeman one. One foot on the tree while pull up stand with the other. Talk about lightweight. Its as good as it gets.
I love my Viper. It's the regular SD. Between this year and last when I got it I've hunted out of it 4 times and killed two respectable PA mountain bucks from it. This mini viper looks pretty slick because it won't hook your legs and heels climbing up steeper hills. I might give one a roll next year to see how it does.
Hey MoldingLegends! I use a bunch of different cameras… probably too many sometimes haha. iPhone, GoPro, a 360 camera, Tactacam 6.0 for shooting shots. Feel free to send me an email if you have specific questions 👍🏻
Gotten back into hunting and I have never used a tree stand. I’m Shopping around now I have questions. 1) why camo the seat on top and brown on the bottom? Shouldn’t it be reversed? Your sitting on the camo. 2) why is the frame not brown (match the tree) my friend was showing me how to use a stand and alI could think of, was the deer looking up knowing that’s not normal. Paint the frame to blend in not the seat your seating on. I’m I wrong or a complete noob?
Hey Danny! Great questions! That gray/green color Summit uses for the paint is actually a real nice concealment in my environment. The majority of the tree bark in my area is a weathered grayish color. As far as the other concerns, I find that if you are still and don’t move when a deer is looking up at you, you are usually in good shape in terms of them not identifying you as a threat. Best of luck this season 🦌
Great Review! I have owned a SUMMIT Open Shot since it came out. Unfortunately a year ago last November I had complete reverse shoulder replacement. I still haven't tried to climb with it yet. I was thinking a sit and climb stand would be better for me.
Hey thanks so much man! I’m a big fan of Summit. They have a nice variety of climbers based on individual needs and they’re super comfortable. Best of luck with whatever you choose! 👍🏻
