@@TribekaGaming All I remember about the next set of movies is something related to high republic. Is that what they are calling this era to make it fit into the other movies?
@@kevinbeefchips high republic is around 200 years before the prequels. its the golden age of the jedi and there haven't been any sith for 800 years. old republic is still the old republic as we know it from the games/comics/novels, they just havent done anything with it yet.
Cmon now. Who doesn't enjoy Meh Ray Sue, Bitch-made and Black guy? Who needs good writing, developed characters and a strong plot .... It's insane how much this franchise got butchered.
Planning to replay kotor1, kotor 2 modded with cut content, re-atching swtor cinematic, and re watching swtor holo history videos to celebrate swtor 10th anniversary!
I'd like to emphasize that that trooper charged a *Dark Lord of the Sith,* TWICE, with nothing more than a combat knife, a flashbang grenade, and the inertia imparted to him by his huge, brass balls.
I agree 100% with Summit. If they made movies like this they'd fkn go bonkers for money cause fans love it. If ur a fan, then chances are you'd pay to see it as well
This is the main reason the Disney star wars trilogy pissed me off so bad. I obviously didn't like them, but all I could think of when I watched the trailers for episode 8 was "Y'all literally had material WRITTEN FOR YOU for the next 30 years, and all you had to do was reproduce it faithfully. And you STILL fucked up your shot."
This is another reason I hate that disney axed the expanded universe. The money that could be made off of cgi movies based on the old republic and after the fall of the second death star would make money. Some one somewhere is drastically underestimated what fans are willing to pay for what they love.
@@StudlyFudd13 second for me. The first was Solo. Smelt that dumpster fire a mile away. Last Jedi made sure I’d not be watching part three. So glad I didn’t. But these 5 trailers - rapidly reaching mythic status for me. Especially when I’ve played SWTOR campaigns and know how the story goes. It’s one of the many things been missing from Disney Star Wars - mythic
The Zabrak species technically had two homeworlds: Iridonia and Dathomir. There was a general trend in both appearance and what manner of force alignment a Zabrak would likely have depending on their point of origin. The tan-skinned Jedi battle-master in the first trailer was an Iridonian Zabrak that died around 3500 years before Darth Maul, a Dathomiri Zabrak, would have even been born.
SO for anyone who doesn't know after Malgus was pushed through that rock face he was rescued, but because of how pissed he was he wanted to continue to fight in this really bad condition. This man makes the pilot bring the shuttle down to where two Jedi are fighting, and beats them down in pure rage.
That force power the little girl demonstrated at the beginning of the "Betrayed cinematic" is called force scream,a predominantly dark side force power that allows ones internal rage to be used as a sonic weapon
The mentality that Disney must have to erase these masterpieces from cannon is just beyond uncomprehending. This is was great. Why would they decanonize this?!?!?!
I tried it for 2 weeks, around 70 hours, it was enjoyable but I really dont like the combat. Other than that, it was quite a decent MMO and shouldnt just be thrown to the side. I feel there is quite a pay to win element to it but as a free to play player, the grind wasnt overly boring, I just couldnt get a good feel for the combat.
@@Harvles93 leveling 60-70 through the 3rd and 4th dlc had the most compelling star wars story in the franchise aside from the clone wars in my opinion
i have easily over 12,000 hours since i started playing in 2011, easily the greatest mmo ive ever played and im so glad these guys are playing it maes me so happy
@@FateCS any tips for someone new getting into it, never really played a lot of MMO’s but I love Star Wars even watching these cinematic trailers as a kid
@@TribekaGaming the best tip i could give you is to sub at least once, you get access to all DLC content permanently, even if you never renew again. Also, Adaptive (orange) armor and armor that you can mod is generally better than regular armor. For example, if you can CTRL+RMB and a modification screen shows up, that’s good. You can buy mods in the supplies section on the fleet. Other than that just enjoy the grind, the game is fairly easy and you can change if you want your companion to heal/tank/dps to compliment your play style. You can up the difficulty if stuff gets too boring, or you can just slaughter everything and enjoy the storylines
So long as Disney is still in charge, we will NEVER get anything close to this quality ever again. If Star Wars and Trek aren't rescued from the horrible companies holding their franchises hostage, they will continue to fade into oblivion after even more decades of decline.
Bruh literally every aspect of Star Wars right now is FINE except the movies. Y'all could stand to remember movies aren't the only form of media for something as big as Star Wars.
@@Sam-im5tc I clearly know more than you. Disney is moving in on all legal fronts to consolidate all product lines under their license. This includes the games and novels. No aspect of Star Wars will be independent of Disney's agreement soon. *Edit* Not gonna bother with a second post because its just more of your opinion vs my knowledge and facts. I'm literally an insider source all the world get their stories and reports from.
1 of which they already had to an extent and was just fine (They also already have the comics which are fine genius) and they just pulled EA's exclusive license on games and they aren't going to be able to control then entire damn gaming industry jumping at that. So nah. I can get hating Disney but if they've shown anything since Episode 9 it's that they are backing off and letting the people that know how to handle Star Wars do what they want to do.
@@hightierplayers2454 but the Mandalorian was cool, and it looks like Ashoka is gonna be pretty cool too. Basically if its got Jon Favreau or Dave Filoni as lead director/writer, it'll probably be pretty good. If it's one of Kathlene Kennedy's projects then its gonna be trash probably. Literally Bob Iger, saw the reaction to the Sequels then saw the reaction to the Mandalorian and correctly understood the actual sensible thing to do and make Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni's faction more prominent in the decision making process of movies.
or when the actual expansions are dog shit lol. The trailers made the kotfe expansion look nice, but then you play and it's senseless mowing down npcs in corridors for hours, plus a whiny villain who has no motivatons other than throwing tantrums, was so bad they had to cancel the full expansion and rush to finish it
@@nu4473 I will admit, one of the reasons I cant bring myself to play SWTOR anymore is the outdated animations and graphics, HOWEVER its mostly because the way they have micro transactions set up in game made me spend WAY more than i am willing to admit.
I'm so looking forward what Filoni and Favreau will do with Thrawn. Seeing how the last 4 episodes of Filoni's clone wars is easily the best Star Wars since the OT, they can easily bring Star Wars back to its deserved glory.
idk about the first three. But the last two are not animated. The fights are actually done with motion capture. I think on the corridor crew channel was a stuntperformer once who did this. Its actually so amazing!
19:20 the father is a Sith Lord. The sith follow the rule of two. There can only be a master and 1 apprentice, not multiple. If the day the master can’t guide anymore (sickness, gravely wounded or straight up died.) the apprentice becomes master and now they must find an apprentice to continue on the teaching. Here he has twin sons. He waited to see which one of them will be his apprentice and in the end the son in white (the burns and armor shows him heading into darkness.) becomes his apprentice. To clarify: he is loosely a sith. He was taught by them but doesn’t fully follow their creed. So he went off and form his own empire basically wifh his views on how to utilize the dark side of the force.
you watched the trailers in the wrong order, you will notice that Malgus doesn't have his rebreather on in the Hope cinematic, he does in Deceived, because of what Satele did to him in the hope cinematic :)so it goes: Return -> Hope -> Deceived. those were the original 3, the laters ones are in the right order :) the reason they are called this is that the attack on Alderaan in the Hope cinematic was a decoy move, a destraction from the true goal, which was Coruscant. that event in the Deceived trailer is called "The Sacking of Coruscant" :) the earlier expansions also had trailers, such as the Rise of the hutt cartel trailer and the Shadow of Revan Trailer
The second tow Last one is my personal fav you can see the sith eyes on the white outfit one when he's mad in the throne room and when he slices his brother they return normal eyes.
But the lady who runs Disney/Star Wars said that Star Wars did not have the background and lore Marvel had in order to make good movies, when she justified the shitty trilogy they made.
From a lady who didn't follow the script given by George Lucas himself for the sequel trilogy and who considers the Expanded Universe as non canon. In my mind, the Disney trilogy is the one that is non canon.
imagine that guard at 21:00 was able to scream....also, 21:30 he was like "you thought you could hide that shit from me?" and when she was ABOUT to attack him, his guards all turned towards her....
Am I wrong in thinking that anything less than getting your head cut off would be almost 99% success in survival rate from the light saber? It cauterize the wound immediately so getting stabbed in the stomach, or getting your arm chopped off, would be fine because no blood flow other than if you hit a vital organ…? I mean, Maul was CHOPPED IN HALF, and he’s A-OK. Just give him 2 mechanical legs, he’ll be o…wait not two legs…Spider Legs?! O…o..k
I mean head chopped off gets rid of heart, lungs, and most necessary components to survive. However i guess people with their head chopped off would have a period of time where they would see everything since brain still there (i think, idfk)
@@aldescora Why did you literally just repost what I said? I said get in your head chopped off would probably be the only thing that actually killed you, and hitting vital organs necessary to survive. So you said getting your head chopped off and hitting lungs and heart and other things would kill you, which is exactly what I just said in my post. I don’t know why you thought what you said was any different or needed. You brought nothing new to the table or the conversation, so you’re an idiot
@@Zman0888 i guess for some reason i struck a nerve because i only read 10% of what you wrote. what did you have for breakfast today. i had crispix cereal and it was really good.
aint better under bioware, the actual stories behind most of those expansions were dog shit lol, trailers made them look better than the actual characters and story in game lol
@@MrRobschnieder Not to mention if the rumors are true, by the time their shows are done, the sequels could be erased (and based on leaks from the inside).
there's a reason there's a petition to make a netflix series about this era of starwars with like a million signatures or something insane... still surprised they haven't done it
We've got star wars visions on the way which is a bunch of popular anime studios making different episodes for an anthology series. A show about the old republic in this style would still be awesome.
gah... you watched them in the wrong order xD first one was correct, then the one where they attack the temple is 3rd, you can see the change in Malgus across the trailers. Return - Hope - Decived
I still believe to this day that everything about KoTOR, KoTOR 2 and SWTOR is the best that Star Wars ever got. It's a shame that there wasn't done more with all this.
They should make movies with this kind of animation. Someone said it would be too expensive but let's put this in perspective, rise of skywalker had a 275 million dollar budget. The rumor on the internet is that each minute of these trailers costed 1 million dollars. If they made a 2 and a half hour movie it would cost about 150 million. Then you still have 125 million left to pay the people and advertisement, approximately of course. Common people might not enjoy this as much but it would be so much better for the star wars fandom if they did movies like this
@Exar kun The dark side cosmic entity hopefully they'd put dave filoni in charge of it completely. Everything he's done so far has been great, especially with animation. And hopefully he'd be smart enough to bring in the writers from swtor and someone like drew karpyshyn to help make the story and lore and characters
I’ve played this game for a decade now, and these trailers are STILL incredible! Disney should’ve just thrown money at these dudes and say “go write our stories and make our games” forever
gotta be honest. cinematics like the first 1 drive me nuts when hes casually taking on both of them by himself and doing fine, but then after he kills 1 its like "alright guess i'll just be weak now"
Sad part is, we get watered down wet noodle fights with drama during the fights so we can stare deeply into each others eyes as we lean in for a kiss... oh yeah we are having a lightsaber duel
ive been saying since disney bought star wars. THEY SHOULDNT HAVE FUCKED WITH THE CURRENT ERA WITH LUKE, THEY SHOULD HAVE MADE THEIR OWN SHIT WITH THE OLD REPUBLIC.
someone said "wtf is this mary sue armor?" bro she's a grandmaster like yoda. you ain't gonna watch yoda absorb a lightsaber blade and think, "wtf he can't do that!" you'd be like "omfg yoda the goat yb not better!"
Love that when Satele does something badass theres always those weirdos spamming "mary sue" or "woman strong" Satele is the one of the best written characters in Star Wars history.
These cinematics just go to show that with the right writers, we can potentially get not only all time star wars movies but just an all time story, period. Up there LOTR, harry potter, and personally I'd throw in the kingkiller chronicle (hot take). And this is why I am not a fan of the movies, ESPECIALLY the most recent trilogy. Disney has access to the best writers in the world, the best producers and directors in the world, the movie format has SO MUCH POTENTIAL, and personally they just don't do it for me. This shit on the other hand, oh my god. Imagine if we got some animated movies or actual movies in this vein these cinematics depict. They would be all time. One of the coolest things about star wars are that there are no limits, no bounds to the universe, the lore. They can do WHATEVER they want, don't have to recycle all this old shit (like in the most recent trilogy). Do something new, do something amazing. I know not everyone is a marvel person, but the way they gave out little puzzle pieces over the years in all their movies and how it all culminated, it was insane. I'm not saying to do that with star wars but man with the best writers in the world we could get something incredible but nope we just get a death star 2.0, the same tired "oh turns out they're siblings" etc. Its just lazy. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk!
It's a real shame we don't have anymore games outside of KOTOR 1, 2 and SWTOR that flesh out the past in the star wars universe. We got some comics i think (dunno how many) but we don't have any movies or tv shows of this far back into the lore (atleast none that i'm aware of)
SWTOR is probably the best MMO I have played story/character-wise. It tells so much story with each class in such a simple yet impactful manner. Incredible MMO, community is a little eh at times though. P.S. Satele Shan = Kreygasm
