That was a remarkable journey. It's obvious that it takes a special person to make it to the top. It was apparent that even for you, such an experienced outdoorsman, that it takes a toll on your body. The porters make up a special group and they deserve all the praise you gave them and more. I’ve found the REI house brand to be a consistently good value. Bought an REI brand backpack, which has been excellent. Durable, light, full of features. Agree that buying lightly used gear is a good approach.

What an epic journey! I'm exhausted, and my eyes are full of tears. To think that you actually survived a trek like that. That you also managed to get some beautiful shots of nature is incredible. The final one put such a peaceful and calm ending to what was, to me, a harrowing trip. Thank you for the opportunity to see more of Rodney. Which brings me to the most mportant thing... Never done any backpacking so today I decided to throw 15 pounds in a school backpack and do a 2 1/2 mile walk. Wow, can’t imagine a 40 pound pack up a mountain. Congratulations!
