Sample] In your tomb Thorin, lay I your sword Orcrist, never was it wielded by a mightier hand. [3. Sample] Did you see the Arcenstone? [4. Sample] It was like a globe, with a thousand facets, It shone like silver in the fire(light), like water in the sun, like snow under the stars, like rain upon the Moon! [5. Sample] (Now) the adventure starts! My friends, off we go! [6. Sample] Far away, Lonely Mountain, (its) dark head in (a) torn cloud. [7. Sample] The nights were the worst, it then became pitch dark, So dark, (that you could) see nothing.
In case someone wonders where these samples are taken from: I'm not sure about Arcenstone's every bit, but the majority of the samples on this EP come from the 1981 BBC radio adaptation of The Lord of the Rings. Prepared for radio in 26 half-hour episodes (later merged into 13 hour-long episode) by Brian Sibley. Fun fact: the actor who gives Frodo's voice in the radio-play is non other than Sir Ian Holm! May he rest in peace! This adaptation quickly became a favourite of mine. It is so evocative. I'm sorry to say this, but many of the voice actors in the radio play outperforms their film-adaptation counterparts. The voice actors for Aragorn, Gollum and Sam are absolutely phenomenal!
