Looks great! One suggestion would be to flip your actuators upside down to help minimize water intrusion and it will be beneficial come winter to prevent freezing, otherwise great job!
Thank you so much for the info. I will be sure to flip them around. That was one of the questions I’ve had that no one was able to answer. Thank you so much for the help!!
I didn't know this existed, and for such a good price. It's difficult to pass up. I just installed a second set of stationary panels to augment the ones that face south at my cabin in Maine. This looks like a better solution. I look forward to your updates to see how it performs in the real world. (Always great content, thanks.)
Thank you so much! I’ll be sure to post updates in the future and let you know how it has increased the efficiency of the panels. I appreciate you taking the time to comment, the feedback is so important as to my decision making for future videos. Have an awesome week.
Nice video Karl. Everything is coming together for ya. That looks like a very nice product. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing some type of solar power up at my place but i don’t think I spend enough time at my place to do it. Living 6 hrs away is it even worth it for me 🤷♂️. Thanks for sharing it with us. Have a nice week my friend
Thanks Dan. I wasn’t sure about solar at first, but I am really starting to enjoy it. Not having to run a generator during hunting season really makes a difference. Have an awesome week.
Walleye! Very nice catch. Blessed to have a dock on a beautiful lake! Lol funny Flintstones joke. 😜 Thanks for sharing! Jay and Jen are such a great help on everything aren't they? 😁
It’s awesome to hear from you guys! This is definitely a great world that we live in. Life is sweet when we take time to enjoy the beauty around us. Jay and Jen are awesome friends. Thanks for taking the time to comment, have an awesome week.
Great fish Karl and thanks for the shout out!! That system is slick brother, very impressive! I love it when an install is smooth and works as it should. Weekend approaching, hope you have a great one!
Thanks Mark. lol trust me there was a lot of editing in this video. I guess I can’t complain too much. After you look at The instructions for a while, everything seems to go together. Have a great weekend brother.
Shot gun at the ready! Walleye off the dock! A wolf encounter! What a great adventure at the cabin. Solar has always intrigued me. If I was a little younger, I'd do it at my home. Not sure if I'd get the return on my investment or not. I've always learned when watching your videos. Excellent Filming Job Mik
Mik it is a real pleasure and a honor to hear from you. Solar has really paid off for us at the cabin. Unfortunately Minnesota and Wisconsin really don’t have much sunlight half of the year. I’m not sure if it would work at our primary homes without investing, a little bit more money. I have to tell you though, it sure is nice not having any utility bills at the cabin. Have an awesome week my friend, thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.
Nice Flintstones joke at the start of the video.😂 The world needs more old-fashioned humor like that. Lol. Nice solar upgrade. I hope that it works out well. Being able to call Jay with questions is pretty handy. Also keep yourself and everyone safe at the cabin. Those wolves have absolutely no fear of humans. Enjoy the start of the summer my friend. Todd from da U.P.
😂🤣😂 i’ve been holding off on the dad jokes because my wife says that may ruin my viewership lol. I usually have a pack of wolves that hang around during the winter time, but I’ve never had them this late in the spring/summer. I think with the number of deer that have disappeared, they’re starting to look to feed on peoples pets. hopefully they move on soon. Make sure da wife knows that we send our regards. Have an awesome week my friend.
Great looking little set up Karl. It Should help out quite a bit for you guys. Gill fishing is hot on Waubeesee right now,Lots of 8”+ slabs. That wolf needs a little something to remind it to be afraid of humans.
Thank you so much!! We need to get together again and wet a few lines. I’ll keep you posted when the crappie bite is back on. I appreciate hearing from you Don have an awesome week, brother.
So good to see you, brother!! Been watching some other off grid channels with idiots who leave their solar panels flat on the ground(he says it keeps them cooler, lol) then has them hooked up to a bunch of mismatched deep cycle batteries. It's just an absolute mess. So good to see someone who has enough common sense to make the solar system work for you! Very impressed! Thank you for this presentation!! God bless you all!!
You don’t know how much I appreciate your support! Thank you so much for your kind words. They inspired me to keep going. I’m trying to keep things real on this channel. There’s a lot of off grid channels that pretend what they’re doing. Hopefully I can keep things real and have everyone’s trust. Have an awesome week.
I am amazed at how quickly technologies changing things. It’s hard to believe but this solar set up will be 40% more efficient than what we had before. Thanks for watching.
What a perfect way to start the video, Karl! Fishing has been great so far in the U.P. and I think the early spring was a big help. Huge congrats on your solar setup! Will you still get direct sunlight when the sun is lowest on the horizon during fall and winter months?
Thank you, Jason! This system will increase the efficiency by a minimum of 40%, that’s huge. I should be able to get sunlight all the way up to Sunset. Have an awesome week.
Hopefully this video helps you out in your research. Solar has been a blessing for us. When you get a little closer to making a decision, shopsolar.com is a valuable resource. They can help you size up your system and help you choose the appropriate size. Have an awesome week.
It comes with a wind speed sensor that turns the solar panels horizontal depending on wind resistance. They definitely did their homework when they designed this one.
For the $500 this cost you could just add more pannels. In your situation just point the pannels at the hole in the tree canopy. At best I bet you get 2hrs of sun at any location in your clearing.
I think I’m averaging about four hours of sunlight in the summertime and that’s been working great. As my demand increases more trees will definitely come down. Thanks for watching.
Got one, not set it up yet as I think due to snow I'm going to need 3' more height. Not sussed out that plan yet. My system will be 24v 800w bi-facial panels with 2- 12v 100ah Lifpo's and a 3000w inverter that will run less than a 2000w load initially until I acquire 2 more batteries. Did your tracker come with a IR remote?
Sounds like you have a pretty good set up. No my system did not come with the remote, but you can get it for a little bit extra money. Thanks for watching.
@@JudasBytes i’m sorry I don’t have that information readily available. I am sure if you want an Ecoworthy website it would provide you with an information. Otherwise, their customer support is really good. I’m sure they could answer that for you.
Hey Karl I'm in the central U.P. and have heard about wolves in our area too. I'm in remote woods a lot and don't carry weapons, but now wondering if there is a danger... Just curious, but if you were seriously injured and alone in those woods without a weapon--say overnight, do you believe the wolves would be a threat?
I have had two run-ins with wolves, I won’t speak of them on a public forum. What I can tell you is, I will never be caught in the woods again without a side arm. I would highly suggest anyone who is spending any amount of time in the woods should have some sort of protection with them period! I believe they are a threat to you whether you are healthy or not.
@@karlsoffthegrid1378 That's some good advice, Karl. I watched the big cat footage over in the western U.P., and with wolves a threat too it makes a person think twice about casual hikes. I guess yoopers should be lucky there's been no attacks so far and will keep my eyes peeled!
@@jasonborn867 They are really good at keeping any run-ins quiet. When I had my first experience the DNR wouldn’t admit anything. They said it was probably a rabid coyote or dog.
@@karlsoffthegrid1378It's too bad you can't speak about the wolf run-ins because I think many folks are niave to an increasing threat here in the U.P. My head is now on a swivel.
I wish mine was working properly.. 177w vs 806 after tilting. 1\3 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R00Vfy0iPO0.html 2\3 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8it9WhMxI6E.html 3\3 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ctf2Vft19fI.html I have contacted eco worthy, but just wondering what your thoughts are..?
