Sun Country Airlines Reviews "Don’t take this airline ever!!" 

Sun Country has started scanning bags - but it still sucks. I got on a flight to SFO. I put an AirTag in mine. I arrive and my bag is in SFO. I went to a couple of lounges for lunch and then went to the baggage area. SFO is half assed. Domestic flight arrives in International and you go to a strange baggage area to get it. I get there and there are several people who can't find their bags. But i am confident MINE is there as I had an AirTag. I found the Sun Country rep. I told her my bag is here but didn't come out on the belt. She quips that it is not here as she was the one who put them on the belt. I said I have an AirTag. And not only was it in the Airport, but my phone could actually connect to the AirTag (which means it is nearby). It was clearly with 20 feet - essentially the floor below. The agent just said it is NOT here. You can fill out a form or not (basically F off). There was another minion who repeated the same thing. For F Sake Sun Country, I had a good flight with friendly cabin service and then I mean to F*&KS like this. - So I finally gave up and went to find someone else working for Sun Country (they use agents as they do not have an office there). I found another guy an explained my situation. He went down and looked. He then called the bag room and had them get some bags that were stuck on the belt. Apparently, this is a DAILY occurrence. Still no bag. He tried this and that. Nothing. But my AirTag showed my bag had moved a bit. Finally he went up on the turn belt and could see my bag where the bags exit. It was too far away to reach it. I suggested putting some bucket thingies on the belts and start it up again - which he did. Wallah, my bag and the others came out. - The other people were long gone. The one lady put everything in her bag - she didn't even have purse with her (not too bright). - There was another guy there who had lost his bag yesterday. He called SC but they didn't do jack shit to help him find his bag. The guy who helped me said they do not have access to the scanning data to find where his bag was last scanned. Unreal. All he could do was call the shitty SC customer service. - In talking with the ground employee and others, they basically said Sun County is a disaster - losing bags all the time and not giving a flying F if people get them or not. Or not having agents to service plans - so flight is cancelled or delayed.

They are an absolute nightmare! every time they screw up they'll just say you were a late check in!!!!!!! I remember when they were a good airline years ago, now they are absolute trash

I can tell you how your bag ended up in LAS… SY does not scan bags but instead uses “bingo sheets.” This basically means your bags are visually looked at and then loaded onto the flight, which makes for higher human error when loading bags. Scanners catch potentially misloaded a lot more.

Use airtag or something similar

After all that you sure are lucky just to have your bag.
