When a sudden worldwide storm begins to plunge the entire planet into a new ice age, paleoclimatologist Jack Hall undertakes a dangerous trek to New York City to save his son from the disaster.
When I was watching this movie at the theater in 2004, the power went out in the theater due to a storm right during a storm sequence in the film. It was eerie. It was about two minutes before the movie came back on.
Adam, every single one of your recap narrations is a gem, but in this one the humour, savagery and your big brain foreshadowing really got me 😂😂😂😂😂😂 There was no way I can take this movie seriously anymore. 😆😆 Shoutout to the Mystery Recapped team for being such a wonderful unit, you all make my day 💙💙🤎🤎
@@DeepDarkBoys You are definitely the best recap narrator out there. Well done man!🙌🏾 P.s- I'm really looking forward to you getting your verified mark. I hope you get it soon, you deserve it.
Here in Ireland, we once had the worst hailstorm in history few decades ago. Hailstones were the size of golf balls and they rained like bullets out from sky. They killed some people and smashed windows.
Technically speaking the sun didn't die. The atmosphere was covered by super storms which blocked out the sun causing the "ice age" to happen in the US. Later in the movie when the storms clear its explained that the frozen ice will reflect the sun, warming and stabilizing the currents which caused the catastrophic events. Great movie and recap as always though Mystery
I LOVE the fact he called out JD was going to die, and then laugh when it happened 😂 sets him way apart from other recaps with fake voices, it feels like my buddy is retelling a movie for me
@@Sumirevins most parts of India is not even cold only from Uttarakhand and up is cold, the rest isn't cold... Some ppl say new Delhi is cold but fir me its mild af...
I cant tell if this is a joke, the sun isnt going to die for the next couple billion years and even when it does it will expand so big it covers the earth
The sun does not die in this movie. What actually happened was the constant burning of fossil fuels caused the temperature of the earth to rise. This led to the ice in the arctic regions to melt, dumping tons of fresh water into the ocean and messing up the ocean currents, resulting in unnatural weather to begin happening around the world before 3 large blizzards shaped like hurricanes appeared and brought a second ice age
I'll never get used to the lack of the intro: Hi, Mistery Recap here... The rest is still spot on. You still manage to make me chuckle while still weeping.
@@linuxsurfer2002 he said it's damaging his channel after looking at the statistics. he has tried going back but it just won't be good for his channel. he of course said how it's damaging his channel, but I forgot what it was.
Me and the boys in Salt Lake City, Utah: Well, it was nice knowing everyone! Also, that Jeff Bezos reference gave me the good laugh I needed to start my day! In truth, aren't all rockets quite phallic in appearance?
3:50 well that was stupid of him to open the door your helecopter was litterly completely frozen instantly honestly props to the guys for being able to open the door
Your sarcastic funny quips are my favorite thing about your vids! I don't know you're an actual human or a crazy good text-to-speech program, but either way whoever is writing the scripts, is awesome!
I love the way it sucks and his voice is some faux-treacle nonsense and everyone just pretends this trash doesn't suck @$$. I don't love it that much though.
I love how Mr. Recap laughs when he gets JDs fate correct. Also I could listen to his voice all day ☺️ I love watching his recaps more than other channels
How? Like for real how? Every climate change doomsday media story keeps getting disproven and we literally have had fewer deadly storms since then. So once again, how?
"He assures sam that if he retires, he will have all the time in the world for his family, unless if they're all dead" Thats some dark humor you got there...
When you think about it, it's basically Frostpuk just in 2004. The Storm that's approaching is basically the storm in the first scenario and the people that want to go to the south are literally just the Londoners
My God😭❤️ I remember watching this movie when I was so young. I've been looking for it and just forgot about it like 7 years ago and just saw it in my recommended. Thank you
Love this movie. That helicopter scene was burned into my brain when i was a kid because my parents where watching it one night and I woke up and that scene was playing on the TV
I remember watching this movie when it first came out. The only thing is I watched it on a bootleg DVD at my cousin's house while the movie was still in theaters. I think that was the first time I ever heard of and saw a bootleg DVD too.
@@KuroSlick yup because this was what 2004 and it was from someone that filmed the movie on a camera in the theater. I believe at some point in the bootleg video you see someone going across the isle ducked down to find a seat. I'll admit though it did look pretty good for being a bootleg. Seeing over the years I've seen a few bootlegs and lots of them are extremely horrible quality.
Great movie! First movie to heavily on use cgi and computer graphics in a major film. The story line was good, it provided fodder for the global warming alarmists. The film depicts major populations fighting for survival during a disaster, only the lucky few can make it through. I believe a book called "the coming global superstorm" by Art Bell was the basis for the film, Bell's buddy Whitley Streiber contributed to the book and film also. Science fiction always has man in conflict with the unknown. Overall, a satisfying movie. If you're into computer graphics this movie is a Must see.
This is not longer a movie and is becoming quite quickly into documentary and later into a fulfilled prophecy just like is happening with the movie/ documentary called Idiocracy.
*"Must have been a hell of a gender reveal party"* I lol'd xD Well the father finally made sometime with his son when threatened with extinction, great movie! The ending though 🤣🤣
The reason snow was emphasised to be a major climate change is because, winters in Delhi can be cold but it NEVER snows there… so trying to point out the importance and urgency of getting matters under control.
I would love to hear your voice sitting next to me while I lay in bed telling me a story why I fall asleep. Your voice is always so soothing and comforting
I watched this with my family when I was like 7 after that I was scared to death and I asked if it was real and my brother jokingly said “yes” I was terrified going on planes but today I went on a plane after a long lockdown I’m less scared now.
Oh yeah... We are really experiencing weird hailstones worldwide. We are just trailing a few steps behind the movie. Good luck to us, especially to those cute little kids.
