In this video we look at how i clean my SUN-SUN 304B canister filter, as well as also taking a look at my media setup up within the filter.
Within this filter the water pumps from the bottom to the top, before returning the freshly filtered water to the aquarium.
With this in mind it is beneficial to have the vast majority of your mechanical media towards the bottom of the filter so the big particles are taken from the water first.
Once the water is cleaned from the mechanical media it is then passed through the bio media (such as seachem matrix) & any chemical media you may want to use (like Purigen or chemi-pure blue).
It is then returned to the tank through the return pipe and spray bar, that I have facing upwards to aid in additional surface agitation & therefore Oxygen exchange.
