OMG. I was just quoted nearly $1,000 to replace the visors for this issue! Like, literally today. Both of my visors fall out at the slightest touch and the dealer quoted about $780 for the visors and $250 for labor to replace. I'm so glad I told them to just leave it. 2018 Wrangler for those that are curious. Thank you so much for the video.... Timely doesn't even describe it LOL.
We JUST bought our “new” / used 2020 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara North Edition off the lot at Carmax - and before we drove away the visor on the driver’s side falls completely out!! Oh man! I am SO glad to learn there is a simple, effective, and low-cost solution to this problem. Thanks SO much for sharing this information. Carmax committed to repairing it at no cost to us. We’ll see. And if they don’t or can’t, I know where to get my kit! 🙌🏼
Didn’t realize this was a common problem until suddenly my driver’s side visor got loose and saggy. At 80k miles, I’m definitely outside warranty, so this’ll save some time and money! Just waiting on the parts from Amazon now. Thanks for posting the video!
Thanks! Like others just got a new to me JLU and that’s one of the things I didn’t think to check before I brought it home and the sun was in my eyes. Damn thing nearly fell in my lap on the freeway. Glad there’s a cheap and easy fix. Thanks for sharing!
Got a gladiator in Jan. literally driving home from work today (108 outside sun eating my face) i open the visor and i hear the fantastic pop. Luckily under warranty but confused how this part passed the wear and tear test during manufacturing
is it only a problem for the people who use them? I have a 2018 JLUR and never had a problem but I never use them either. I keep a Tourniquet + knife strapped on the driver side and sunglasses on the passenger side. and they never fell down under that weight.
When I worked for Jeep, I saw them fail for even those who never used them, under just the weight of a garage door opener.... but not all... so it's hard to say
